- bigfatphony19, on 03/04/2009, -2/+36PSP is only a portable Super Nintendo for me.
Which is ***** awesome.
Homebrew ftw - pauleku, on 03/04/2009, -3/+24How about we get PSONE Classics to the PSN and PSP? Has Sony totally forgotten it has those platforms? We have yet to receive a PSONE classic on the PSN this year. Get your priorities straight, Sony.
- timusca, on 03/04/2009, -1/+14People bitch when they don't offer it, and then they bitch when they do.
- jtbndy, on 03/04/2009, -1/+11Guess its bash Sony day on digg!
I think its a great idea from Sony, and hope it catches on with MS and Nintendo. - specialK16, on 03/04/2009, -2/+12So I just went through 11 pages of this moron's comments and well, there is no reason why people should even try to argue with him. Instead, everyone just bury him and report him, not because we disagree with his opinions but, because he is an obnoxious troll who won't shut the ***** up.
So anyways, regarding for notable hate for Sony, I have to answers for you.
If you are just a troll: 10/10. Congratulations, you've managed to make more than 300 comments in which you blindly bash the PS3 or anything related to Sony. Sometimes trolling is fun, hell, I even do it every once in a while in Apple posts, out of boredom. But I do acknowledge that it is just plain immature and simply pathetic to try to piss off people by making comments on the internet. In your case, you already crossed the line from funny to annoying. So please, kindly go the ***** out.
If you are for real: I'm very sorry for your sad, boring, and overall lame existence. It seems that the only thing you do all day is look for articles related to the PS3 just to "say" how great your Xbox console is. You have no grip on reality at all. We couldn't care less about your console or about how awesome it is. You should find a new hobby, get a life, read a book. If you were anywhere near smart you'd know that there is no point in trying to make people like the things that you like.
From this point I'll simply report you, and block you, and I expect everyone else to do the same.
Thank you.
PS: Where the ***** are you getting your so called facts about PSN? - WhereAmI, on 03/04/2009, -0/+9"PS: Where the ***** are you getting your so called facts about PSN? "
His ass. - kierucom, on 03/04/2009, -0/+7I still play God of War & Crisis Core on it, and now that larger-sized SD cards are cheap I've got a fair amount of movies / tv shows for those long road trips. Last trip I took to Detroit got me all caught up on Battlestar Galactica. That's right; I'm that kind of geek.
- CalcProgrammer1, on 03/04/2009, -1/+7What emulators do you use for WM? I have tried a ton, but even on my 624MHz Axim X50v with Intel accelerated graphics, basic SEGA Genesis games don't run at full speed. Most emulators I've tried are really insanely outdated and are not optimized at all.
- bightchee, on 03/04/2009, -0/+6I was at the Nintendo World store at Rockefeller Center in NY where I was waiting for my girlfriend to finish looking around. To pass the time I found a corner out of the way and took out my PSP. A couple customers confronted me about playing a PSP in a Nintendo store (turf war!). They left me alone when I showed them I was playing Super Mario Bros 2.
Lesson learned: there is a lot of very very strong, very very stupid animosity when it comes to these brands. - inactive, on 03/04/2009, -2/+8Part of the original popularity of the PSP was the ability to use it as a "virtual console" before the Wii was even out. I am curious what they will produce for this system
- JCEEZ, on 03/04/2009, -1/+6I got a free PSP for subscribing to internet service for a year (I was in Japan).
I didn't use it for a year. Then I put homebrew stuff on it, and now I take 45 min ***** while playing MLB the Show and God of War - danwallace, on 03/04/2009, -4/+8Anyone else notice that any threads about Playstation products are mobbed by (presumably) 360 fans who bury anything that isn't a "***** Sony" comment? I see a lot of perfectly harmless comments getting buried for no discernible reason.
- rm249, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4Storage wise, I have found a pretty cheap alternative to Sony's memory stick pro duo cards. I have 16GB on my PSP now for about $50 compared to Sony's $80+ (last time I checked). You can get an adapter that takes 2 MicroSDHC cards (extremely cheap, just checked amazon... 8GB for $12) and it combines them together to make a ms pro duo card. It works great.
- bightchee, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4I got this goofy thing called a UMEMD which is a molded piece of plastic that fits in the UMD slot and has indentations for storing four Memory Stick Pro Duos. Two 4GBs come with me: one for movies and one for games.
- WhereAmI, on 03/04/2009, -0/+4He means the PSN downloader thingy. Which doesn't matter since the PSP has PSN now.
- CoD4, on 03/04/2009, -2/+6i can't believe sony hasn't published some of the best ps1 games on psn yet, wtf is holding them up
- kierucom, on 03/04/2009, -0/+3@ joseph
Memory Stick Pro DUO. I have a 16 GB I picked up for under $100. - danwallace, on 03/04/2009, -1/+4I find I often use mine as a mobile video player due to its video-out capability and the ability to stream my media from my PS3 which has an external USB drive full of movies attached to it. It's great to be able to plug it into TV's at my friends houses and watch anything I have at home.
- wcstryfe10, on 03/04/2009, -1/+4The moral of the story is.......
people bitch for any reason - Balanced, on 03/04/2009, -3/+6The article mentions A Link to the past (with screenshot). Isn't Nintendo bringing their properties over to the PSP going to require a pretty massive agreement? They don't seem to be the ebst of friends with Sony.
- WhereAmI, on 03/05/2009, -0/+3There are other platforms than just Nintendo.
- shaughn13, on 03/06/2009, -0/+2google?
- inajeep, on 03/04/2009, -10/+12Late to the party. I used my PSP more as a mobile video player until I got my iPod. Even though the PSP had a better screen it lacked the storage capacity. It's homebrewed now and i still haven't turned it on for almost a year.
- kierucom, on 03/04/2009, -4/+6Modding your PSP can potentially brick the system; something not everyone wants to risk. Being able to play emulated games on the native firmware is a great idea; regardless of the ability to do it via 3rd party tools.
- kingfoot, on 03/04/2009, -3/+5please just.. shut up.
- mrfanboy, on 03/04/2009, -2/+4"Naturally, many non-Sony games are being played on the PSP already anyway."
How do articles from this site still manage to get onto the front page? While this doesn't beat the time they just copied and pasted the entire Ars Technica SF4 review: http://www.tumeroks.com/street-fighter-iv-review/ they're still somehow managing to find a bit more of that barrel to keep on scraping. - drexl, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2How exactly did they "confront" you? Just curious. I would like to have seen that get out of control.
- elitedw, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2i think we could all enjoy newer games. although I'd love to play PSone on a PSP...
- danwallace, on 03/04/2009, -0/+2Yeah those things are all over Ebay, however you can get an 8GB Memory Stick Pro duo for about 20-25 bucks pretty easily on there too.
- inactive, on 03/04/2009, -2/+4Please please port Final fantasy 7 and 8 and Silent hill 1 to the PSP. I bought the damn thing to play games on vacation, long car rides or while i ***** and the only decent game for it so far is Rapala Trophies.
Also, upgrade the flash player. The PSP has a terrific screen suitable for watching TV shows, movies ect but I want to watch women shaking their booties on youtube on my PSP. - bblande, on 03/05/2009, -4/+6No chance Nintendo OKs this.
- doshindude, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1There's no chance that any nintendo game will ever make it.
- josephbloseph, on 03/04/2009, -1/+2Do you mean Memory Stick Pro Duo cards, or do you have one of those adapters for micro SD cards?
- drexl, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1I assumed as much. People do odd things. That had to be an awkward moment. I still can't help but wishing you had stood up calmly and told them to ***** off.
- ELCad, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1Sony leads to lower the price on the PSP. The PSP and DSlite both sell used for $100. They need to bring the new price to parity as well.
- Dracusis, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1Then your battery must be filled with magic google dust or something, I do have the slim PSP and I get at most 3-4 hours of gaming.
- Elranzer, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1"So they're going to charge money to play stuff that people have already been playing on their PSP's for years?"
Not legally. - 33PercentGod, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1I wonder why the GOOD software is doing piss poor in sales?
- MarkOfTheDead, on 03/04/2009, -3/+4Probably all the AAA PSP releases lately.
*snicker* - Elranzer, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1NES runs ok..
- shaughn13, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1I have the original phat PSP and get tons of time unless I'm doing wireless. But I also hacked mine right away so I'm sure that reading mem cards takes much less power than spinning the disc and shooting a laser...
- bightchee, on 03/04/2009, -1/+2http://www.nintendoworldstore.com/
- lukedinan, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1thats awesomely honest of you lol
- kierucom, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1You have a problem with the PSPs battery life? Maybe it's a non-slim version issue then... I have the PSP slim and can play games / watch movies on long trips without an issue. As I mentioned above; 6 hour long trip to Detroit watching BSG episodes; battery didn't drop 1 bar.
- shaughn13, on 03/06/2009, -0/+1"prolonged sitting" on the toilet is gonna net you some hemorrhoids
- bightchee, on 03/05/2009, -0/+1Nothing threatening but they had no other reason to talk to me other than I was playing the PSP in a Nintendo store. They felt it needed to be pointed out as if I was doing something wrong or someone else who might *really* care would notice and then I would be in real trouble.
- modthoa, on 05/16/2009, -0/+0How about we get PSONE Classics to the PSN and PSP? Has Sony totally forgotten it has those platforms? We have yet to receive a PSONE classic on the PSN this year. Get your priorities straight, Sony.
The article mentions A Link to the past (with screenshot). Isn't Nintendo bringing their properties over to the PSP going to require a pretty massive agreement? They don't seem to be the best of friends with Sony. http://pspgames247.com - josephbloseph, on 03/09/2009, -0/+0Valyn, it isn't as simple as the rights holders and Sony both wanting to make money, or one party or the other having to "get off their ass." What Sony has to do is decide whether or not building such a library would be feasible; to keep things simple on their end, they'd probably want to make one offer to everyone; charge a flat rate for most games, and give each rights holder the same cut. This may not work for all rights holders, as they may feel like they could hold out for a better deal, or they might prefer to remake and remarket the game entirely. In other cases, who holds the rights might get confusing, as some companies may no longer be intact, or rights may be at the discretion of multiple parties. If you think you're going to see a broad library of the best and most memorable Playstation games being ported to the PSP, including big names like Final Fantasy VII, you probably shouldn't encourage the use of phrases like "stupid piece of *****."
- Cheesepuffly, on 03/05/2009, -2/+2They are gonna charge for this, if they charge more than a dollar it wont be worth it.
- Dracusis, on 03/05/2009, -1/+1Yeah, I haven't touched my hacked PSP since I got an iPhone. The battery life and bulk means I'll only take it when I'm packing a bag, at which point I'd rather take my laptop.
