- granolajoe, on 07/15/2008, -2/+11Hope to see more women like this in the gaming industry, creating female characters that are more accessible to women.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -3/+7I find non-stereotypical women to be much more attractive than the crap society pushes. I'd like to see more realistic personas than the candy-ass WOW characters that every other game tries to copy.
- bixby1, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4um, was it worth it? do you feel any better?
- Conwaysb0718, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2yes, yes i do. thanks for listenin'.
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Brasil go girl! Her concept art is so nice!
- IAreGamerDotCom, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Duh. But they'll also bring innovation.
And by innovation I mean more realistic boob physics. - shutaro, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1I'm assuming that by balance you mean boobs.
- shutaro, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1I just hope she doesn't go making any RPGs... I don't wanna get stuck playing a party of all Healers.
- solesoul, on 07/16/2008, -3/+3I'd like to make a point. It isn't female characters that lack depth, its video game characters that lack depth. So that means that if a female is in a game, she's probably gonna lack depth. And if a male is in a game, he's probably gonna lack depth. Hell, you could make an argument that Master Chief is one of the most well known game characters, and everything about him is a stereotype. And in reality, its slightly sexist that these people are only saying that the females are shallow and stereotypical, because that means that they look at the stereotypical males in these games and say "oh thats normal. I see no problem with that." How about we fix bad writing in general, not just the writing that hurts her feelings.
On the other hand, Julia Brazil is a cutie. I'd like to objectify her all night long, if you know what I'm saying - IAreGamerDotCom, on 07/16/2008, -1/+1Women will definitely create a refreshing balance in this industry.
- brukaoru, on 07/16/2008, -2/+1"You play them and they are pretty and smart but they don't seem to have a lot of depth to them."
Agree with her 100%. Would love to see more female characters who have depth to them and aren't there just for eye candy. - FreemanJack, on 07/15/2008, -7/+3Two things; one her last name is Brasil, and she is from Brazil. The other- ABOUT GODDAMNED TIME!! FEMINIST AGENDA!!!! WHOOOOOHOOOOO!!!! BOOBIES FOR THE WIN!!!!!
- Conwaysb0718, on 07/15/2008, -10/+6nobody's ***** stopping women from creating this *****, and now, with women holding power positions in all these companies they have to create an award to find female talent? geezus taco christ... create some games, see how they fare and stfu about it already. but nooo, when you create a game that sucks balls or only reaches out to your niche audience (surprise surprise) you then complain about how its all because its a X dominated market. every other day you have to hear someones oh poor me sob story of overcoming impossible odds in a white/straight/male dominated arena and all of a sudden they get some ***** handout from some previous minority/gay/female trailblazer who thinks lifes not fair.
To be honest, i dont give a ***** who makes the damn games, just make one that doesnt suck and quit bitching about how unfair everything is all the damn time. Wanna know the secret to making a successful female protagonist? T&A... or you can go the route of hiding the gender until the very end or making gender ambiguous... your choice. Ta-*****-da.
Im done ranting now, commence burying.
