I was like "wait......I was just at best buy today and I saw at least 20". Must be that fairytale dream Sony is in now where their console is sold out everywhere. - kylesellers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What shortages? Is this a phony press release or what?
- edgecurve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Stay there". How right he is. Ha!
- Yukos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My God, Sony just won't let up. I think it is great and entertaining that they have so many "professional" PR employees that peddle ***** insane lies in tandem. I it is like a neverending wave of psychosis. There must be a comet or small moon somewhere in the universe were Sony secludes themselves from all reality and creates their public statements.
- MouseCircus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What he should have said is "we're currently working on keeping all stores stocked." It's the truth, and it's actually honest. Yes, Sony is in the spotlight more often than other companies, but their press releases are usually released through gaming sites. I don't think the public knows, or cares if the PS3 is selling well or not. In fact, the only time Sony ends up on the mainstream news for their comments is when they LIE. I can recall reading articles in The New York Times and in Time Magazine poking fun at comments from Sony PR tools. The gaming community are the last people Sony should be lying to.
You'd think that they had learned by now that they need to be more specific when making an announcement. Once again, Sony fanboys will twist the words around in order to defend Sony, and if Sony gets called out for it, they'll simply claim that their comments were "taken out of context." Such a retarded, stupid and endless cycle. - ChicagoDS, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2more ps3's for Americans to not purchase...
Sending more ps3's here is akin to us sending more troops to iraq ... sony should be pulling out - coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2PR is PR. Stop taking it as the written word. When someone says "we're fixing shortages" they mean they want to have all stores totally stocked while putting it in the minds of the uninformed that the PS3 is really in a huge demand. Their objective is to get as close to lying for a positive image without actually lying. (remember, PS3 has a 87% in stock rate, therefore they're not 100% out of "shortage").
It happens with all companies. Sony just happens to be more in the spotlight, therefore tech savvy people can call BS a lot easier.
