- Romanito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Great ! At last I can have some of the coolest 3D trees of the video games history.
/me now prints dozens of copies of the last page to recreate the 'hit by an enemy' sequence. - silouette747, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15http://www.duggmirror.com/gaming/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_s_Green_Hill_Zone_made_out_of_paper_/
- MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11The Japanese always make the coolest things out of paper :p
- Jakelshark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I wish I had the patience...

- illu45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome idea, if anyone has some finished pictures, post them on flickr and give us a link?
- saska, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Next time link to the original article and not your blog?
- jgclark123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Mirror anyone?

- freddo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This reminds me of the Binary Arts dragon: http://www.grand-illusions.com/opticalillusions/dragon_illusion/
Here's the Google Video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7338400765555658225
And the pdf to make it yourself: http://www.grand-illusions.com/images/articles/opticalillusions/dragon_illusion/dragon.pdf - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I want to make one too...

http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00986/ - NetPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is the first link I've had go to the homepage and of course the site goes down...
- cerealrat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Coral cache:
http://www.bitsbytespixelssprites.com.nyud.net:8080/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006/06/pc_greenhill.pdf - breakneckridge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Photo of the finished product anywhere? The rendering on the 1st page of the pdf isn't the same as seeing the real thing.
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1HOW BIG IS THE MODEL? other than that it sounds cool but alas i have little skills with folding and cutting paper... :( so I will leave this to you and hope you post pictures? yes good plan.
- NetPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1looks like it's back up maybe? - nevermind
- Porsche944, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1awesome when I return to work on Monday I'll print this PDF out on the color laser printers we have and stick it in my cube when it's complete.
- lofiboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awesome.
- analdisco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's not a render. This thing is teh secks. =D
It looks like it'd be nearly impossible to make with any level of neatness if you're using regular paper. Something stiffer would probably work best. - boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Too bad it's not the *complete* Green Hill Zone, just basically a summary. Still cool, though - dugg.
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Origami :)
- vtwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok you got that point :)
Just let me finish my Super Mario 64 level editor, and the first thing I'll do after is designing a fold-up paper version of Princess Peach's Castle :)
By the way, by some odd coincidence, Mario 64 celebrated its 10th anniversary this June 23rd. - NetPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm gonna take a run at it at work tomorrow. I think I can get through it without a translation... at least most of it
- chr1snv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1not that anyone is even interested in it anymore, but I finished it after 3 days of off and on work. I have alot of pictures of it if you want to see them just email me at chr1snv@gmail.com I can't read Japanese, and I didn't use glossy paper or card-stock (If you look closely at the picture on the pdf, it looks like photo-paper was used). But excuses aside, my finished product is pretty crude and If I were to use all the stuff you were supposed to, I still don't think I could do much better. (I don't have mad skillz, lol)
- curlyman500, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sweet this is going in my dorn room!!!
- reddevil3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would so love to make one...but I have no idea how to start. Is there a translated version somewhere?
- heavyd14, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Its part of the PDF if you look at it.
Ive done most of the level. I still need the detail but its all small and a pain in the ass. The grey tab things need sharper corners or they run into eachother. - idleminded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, I made a papercraft Metal Gear Rex two weeks ago. This should be no problem.
- HP844182, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's not that hard to figure out once you cut everything out. I'm a little over half way done, I'm going to finish it tomorrow.
It looks so cool! - ultraandy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I finally completed my model!
It looks pretty cool in my living room right now!
You can see the model and my diary of how I made it here: http://www.welivebytheriver.com/index.php/2006/07/31/challenge-complete-build-the-green-hill-zone - Jakelshark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0it is definitly not oragami
- HP844182, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I printed this out, then realized I can't read Japanese.
Guess I'll have to play around with this a while to figure it out. - NetPhantom, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1dammit
