- KittySpark1es, on 05/18/2009, -10/+178People who play the sims know how to use bit torrent?
- LumpOfCole, on 05/18/2009, -0/+113I'm actually glad it was leaked, because I had serious doubts knowing that the game was being developed by "EA" and not its Maxis subsidiary. But what do you know, the customization is awesome. You can actually choose color AND material texture for clothing and decorating, which is really awesome. And I get games like this for the online sharing component, so the leak turned this into a Day 1 purchase for me.
- krystalo, on 05/18/2009, -4/+108EA got owned, again.
- dafin0, on 05/18/2009, -1/+77dugg for not being ashamed for playing the sims... im into the house design part :)
- sockpuppets, on 05/19/2009, -3/+74So that's how mr babby man sim is formed.
- LumpOfCole, on 05/18/2009, -7/+72I am forming a mr babby man sim tonight.
- sockpuppets, on 05/19/2009, -0/+60They evolved.
- z0rk, on 05/18/2009, -0/+59Makes you wonder if it was leaked by the same guy who leaked spore.
- croxis, on 05/18/2009, -7/+52Didn't the same thing happen to spore, and it HAD drm?
- berryhill, on 05/19/2009, -1/+44I am SO looking forward locking sims inside of 5x5 rooms and slowly starve them to death.
- 10galloncat, on 05/19/2009, -2/+42I had no idea using a torrent was considered hacking.
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -1/+39Just email EA tech support and ask them. Leave your full name and address so the install CD and key can be mailed to you first class within the next day for free.
-Bob, tech support. - Piku, on 05/18/2009, -0/+35It hasn't been released and you want to play online ?
- AutoTom, on 05/18/2009, -4/+37dugg for tpb logo in bubble
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -0/+29Please continue asking questions like this, as Digg was created to be your personal warez tech support resource.
- smashblu, on 05/18/2009, -1/+29Are you serious?
Is he serious? - sockpuppets, on 05/19/2009, -0/+26eawned.
- cawpin, on 05/19/2009, -0/+25I don't know if it was this early but yeah. Also, the pirated copies were the only ones people didn't have any trouble with working.
- INTERNETMASTER, on 05/19/2009, -8/+32come on people SEED!
- MasterGrief, on 05/19/2009, -1/+25That's always been the biggest draw for a lot of people, I think. I won't lie, I enjoy telling these fake people how to live their lives, but I really enjoy just building extremely fancy houses.
Can we put basements in now? I want a basement. - FaeR, on 05/18/2009, -6/+29Thanks for the heads up. Downloading now...
- JHughes1882, on 05/19/2009, -4/+27I feel sorry for the people who put many hours hard work into this game, but a sense of Karma is in the air for launching with a 'Sims Store' on Day 1.
It's content that should have been IN THE GAME TO START WITH.
And yes I know that theres a free $10 to start with, but it's hard to refer to it as 'Free' when you've paid for the full game to start with and that content really should be in there. - Eurynom0s, on 05/19/2009, -0/+23Honestly, how does something like DRM even play into this? For the game to leak this early it seems like someone inside the company had to leak it.
- cowboy86, on 05/19/2009, -17/+39http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4901100/The_Sims_3 ...
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4375656/Spore-RELO ... - inactive, on 05/19/2009, -3/+25I pirated HAWX and then i bought it because it was a good game. I pirated RA3 but didn't buy it because it sucked ballz. Piracy only hurts the ***** games.
- inactive, on 05/19/2009, -0/+22Nah. Its mostly guys downloading ti for their "Girlfriends".
- SaladCactusKing, on 05/19/2009, -1/+23I'm going to be on the other side of this, but the game doesn't use DRM, and EA has really stepped up it's game, what used to be the evil empire that sucked by Bullfrog and Westwood pales in comparison to the nickle and diming Acitivision-Blizzard does with their Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, and zillions of cheap cash in franchises.
EA has taken risks with Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, and Brutal Legend. And they've cut back on DRM. The Sims 3 won't have any, nor will any of it's future games.
I believe in Piracy as a way of protesting unfair ways to ***** the consumer over but this is just lousy. - omnithought, on 05/19/2009, -2/+23It's cool, I plan to buy it when it launches, provided my "try before you buy" period proves it to be a good game.
I've paid for too many games that ended up as beer coasters because they sucked, and I didn't know how to try before I buy. If we could take PC games back for a refund when they suck, it would be a different story. As it ended up, I lost money on bad games.
Ever since I discovered torrents, I've ended up buying more games since I no longer have to be gunshy with my wallet. - Archaic1, on 05/19/2009, -0/+20This is why people should require a licence to use technology.
- batshitcrazy, on 05/19/2009, -4/+22as a developer i do not like software piracy. sales pay my salary and fund future projects.
- FatherG, on 05/19/2009, -1/+19Queue up All Along The Watchtower
- CoreyHalliwell, on 05/19/2009, -1/+19With lots of Cheetos, Energy Drinks, a sense of Failure, and Compulsive Internet Use.
- d66kid, on 05/19/2009, -2/+20Best advertisement for sims 3.
- Zekarus, on 05/19/2009, -0/+17Basements could be done in Sims 2. It just was bloody obscure and pain in the ass to get working.
- Timmyftw, on 05/19/2009, -3/+19That's not actual crap, just the promotional game.
- INTERNETMASTER, on 05/19/2009, -1/+16+1 for stealth troll
- greensky, on 05/19/2009, -3/+18Just release it via Steam and call it good... It's still DRM, but it plays nice with your PC and isn't a big hassle.
- Chainheart2, on 05/19/2009, -0/+15Attacking them? Ha.. he's making a point, not showing fangs.
- RiotHeart, on 05/18/2009, -6/+20it's a trap
- radialturkey, on 05/19/2009, -1/+15I have no idea what's going on.
- Jektal, on 05/19/2009, -0/+13Here it is...
- bencanfield, on 05/19/2009, -3/+16It's better when Valve does it.
- BobbyMC, on 05/19/2009, -2/+15I'm more surprised that the game exists at all. I don't even remember it being announced. What a pleasant surprise!
- KingFog, on 05/19/2009, -0/+12We have wenches instead... >.>
- Devramos, on 05/19/2009, -1/+13I'm into trapping sims in room a room with a fireplace and wicker chairs.
