- sryb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its pretty obvious that valve did this just to piss people off in hopes that they will go to source. i mean why would they put their "great new idea" in their "great new game" instead of updating a game they haven't touched in over a year at least.

- bbeep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Right now the ads are actually pretty tasteful. In fact the Intel ads even look pretty nice. The main problem I believe is the one on the scoreboard. Obviously Valve has started with a few ads, mostly for their own content, but down the road you will see more and more 3rd party ads. Plus, the ads cause lag at the beginning/end of the rounds. Valve needs to fix the technical issues (FPS drop since November update, anyone?) that still exist in 1.6 before adding new things that are creating even more problems.

- randunel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I own the most popular non-steam server in my country. Until recent, I was encouraging people to buy the original game by saying that it's better and so on. But now I will encourage people to use non-steam clients because they have no stupid ads. Too bad I already bought the original, I will be playing non-steam from now on because I hate the idiot ads.
