Nintendo hasn't released a shooting game in the last couple generations though. The only competition in this area is Namco. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0DMatias, you're correct. Under patent law Sega is not required to publish the rest of the patent for 18 months.
They have only published the front page which is called the 'abstract'
What we know is that they filed a patent for a gun 4 weeks ago.. and the abstract suggests it is for the Nintendo Revolution. with mention to the dreamcast gun which supported a slot for a visual memory unit.. which in this case would be in place for the Revolution controller.
It seems bizare for Sega to patent a similar design for xbox 360 or PS3, or an old console even.. when they will already have their own first party peripherals.
I'm fairly sure it is eithe ra reissue for a patent or for the revolution. - Dmatias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0there is no mention any place on that page for the gun to be used with the revolution.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well the Nintendo Revolution will be swamped by FPS games i'm sure.
Many developpers have announced their love for the controller's aiming capability. - ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Isnt loading.
- FutureSandwhich, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wham Bam thank you Ma'me.
House of the Dead anybody?
I'm sure Nintendo can get around it anyway.
