Sears Breaks Wii Street Date!

So are all the other Futureshops that I know of, you guys should come over to Canada if you're going to buy the Wii, our stock = plentiful and currency = cheaper (plus i'll give you a discount if you mention you're a digger).

    This Wednesday I stopped by Home Depot to pick up some random stuff. Ended up taking a look at the HDTV's. I remembered a Black Friday ad I saw for a 32 inch LCD HDTV for $478. I asked an employee about it and he told me they just got them in stock that day. I asked if he could sell me one, and he did. I also filled out one of those Home Depot Store Credit card and got an additional $50 off.

    One of my friends went back the next day to try and pick one up. Turns out management found out about it and told him to ***** off.

    I highly recommend picking one up when it goes on sale next week. I thought it would be a piece of ***** but its actually pretty nice. If only something similar happened when I went PS3 hunting the next night.

      I didn't know they sold HDTVs either until I head about the sale.

      If anyone is curious, the deal is for an Element Electronics flx-3202 32 inch LCD HDTV. I was looking to buy the Westinghouse 32 inch for the same price on Black Friday from best buy, but I snatched this one up since I probably wouldn't have been able to get one of the Westinghouses (door buster sale, so Best buy isn't selling them until the morning of). After my experience with not being able to get a PS3, I'm sick of waiting in line.

      Specifically the Home Depot in near the Buckhead Best Buy. But they arent selling them anymore though. As I said in my first post, a friend of mine went the next day and was refused. He even asked the guy that sold me mine, but he said he couldn't do anything.

That would have prevented A LOT of the chaos surrounding the PS3. If the stores could quietly notify customers a day or 2 up to the date to get them instead of having hoards of people out front, things would have been much smoother. I've noticed my Target already has some Wii games out, but others the shelves are marked, but no games yet. The store I went to ensured me that they had plenty of Wii's in stock... not lots, but a lot more than the paltry number of PS3s they received.

      *****. I tried to buy a copy of Zelda for the Wii at my local Wal-Mart (in south-central Virginia on Friday Nov. 17th) and they wouldn't sell it to me. The guy working the electronics section told me "I think we have about fifteen of them in the back...let me go check. If the system will ring it up, I'll sell it to you." He then comes out with a copy from the back (Yes!!), slides it across the scanner, and BOOM - what should pop up on the register's display but a big, fat "Cannot Sell Item until 11-19-06"

      If that's not adhering to a "release date", then I don't know what is.
