- Sabin, on 10/08/2008, -2/+68Hey, I played this years ago as Beatmania.
- DaveXensen, on 10/08/2008, -0/+36pair this up with DDR to make Rock Band's competitor: "Rave Party"
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -4/+35All that scratchin' is makin me itch.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+27if you hit this table one more time, this record is gonna skip, gonna skip
i told you, stop hittin the table - DrDragun, on 10/08/2008, -3/+25They should make an MC game where the controller is a plastic mic with 4 buttons. The buttons would link to the phrases "shorty", "bottle", "club", and "ice." I bet you could get at least 60% of today's hip hop into that game where you would press at least 1 button every 5 seconds.
- jbarket, on 10/08/2008, -3/+21God are you a ***** dinosaur or what?
If you exclude the experience of digging through records, which kids who play EDM and such don't bother with anyway, what's the real difference between a 1200 and a CDJ-1000? A moving platter?
Accept reality and move on. The rest of us did. - CptGreencoat, on 10/08/2008, -2/+19Sweet, more cheap plastic peripherals to junk up living rooms across the nation.
- cupati, on 10/08/2008, -0/+17Nah, they play guitar hero.
(Also only said in jest) - crimsonnblue, on 10/08/2008, -2/+17If they put the right music on this.... I might just buy it. It's gotta be good hip-hop though. Classics, not this new trash.
- Destinatus, on 10/08/2008, -0/+12yep remaking old japanese games is INNOVATIVE! (i.e. guitar freaks, drummania, IIDX, etc.)
- basye, on 10/08/2008, -1/+12I foresee a lot of people getting carpal tunnel because of this game.
- TheCosmicFool, on 10/08/2008, -1/+12This comment clearly needs more appreciation in the form of sub comments...
*snaps some glow sticks* WOOOOO!!!
... Who am I kidding, I'm on digg, I never even leave my house - jbarket, on 10/08/2008, -1/+12What I don't understand about a game like this... or the half a dozen DJ arcade games that already exist... is that Guitar Hero / Rock Band at least get the motions right. Pushing fret buttons might not be the same as turning your hands into crab claws on the frets for a particular chord, but the actions seem similar.
These DJ games, on the other hand, aren't even close. The sad part is, it would be completely possible to simulate the experience. Rather than matching colored buttons in time, if you had to match how long the sample was playing, what portion of it was playing, et cetera... like actual scratching. It could be very tolerant about record positioning... how far you pulled the record back, how far into the sample you scratched, et cetera... on lower difficulties and then attempt to simulate the real deal on expert.
Instead you have a silly ass "mixer" with some colored ***** that you apparently hit while screaming LOOK AT ME, I'M PRETENDING TO BE AUTISTIC, A DJ, AND A DRUG DEALER ALL AT THE SAME TIME... IT'S LIKE A ***** RAVE! - Zansurf, on 10/08/2008, -1/+10Sorry to break the bad news for all the people hating on this game, but still enjoy DDR or even guitar hero. This is just an "americanized" version of beatmania a game that predates and pretty much led the way for DDR and ultimately guitar hero so before you go and crucify this ***** realize where some of your favorites came from.
- kamiten, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9That was my first thought, as I have this "newly invented" controller sitting in my living room, and have had it there for over two years now.
- ausoff2, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9Beatmania...
ii....
D...
X.... - enotswhat, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9i knew it was only a m-m-m-mater of time
- darkism, on 10/08/2008, -0/+9So this is ANOTHER cheap rip-off of a 10-year-old Konami game?
- Oddish, on 10/08/2008, -1/+9Uhh.. what kind of ***** hip-hop have you been listening to?
- Travelsonic, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7IIDX done it.

Jungle/Drum and Bass! - djHBRD, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7Konami called, they said they want you to stop ripping off the games they made 10 years ago.
Thanks. - coyote1284, on 10/08/2008, -0/+6Digger please!
- 4NDr01D, on 10/08/2008, -2/+8just like you do in Rockband and Guitar hero??
- Paulorific, on 10/08/2008, -3/+8Did you ever consider that being labeled a musician isn't important for some people and that they just want to hear some music?
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6one goes good with x, the other goes good with weed
- WiretapStudios, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5Boh Boh! +1 for jungle.
Trance and Breaks are the two easiest things to mix. - agsinger, on 10/08/2008, -3/+7why not just buy records and a turntable and actually join the culture?
- darkism, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4That was done (by Konami, of course) in 1999. You could link up DDR 2nd Mix and beatmania IIDX Substream.
- bloominoctober, on 10/08/2008, -0/+4I've always thought they should branch out from Rock Band, combine it with DDR and call it Boy Band.
- justcharlie, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4excuse me, cdj-1000's are still plastic toys. serato FTW
- iSwire, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4did they really steep this low? :(
learning to do this IRL is just as easy >. - onlysc, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4dj such and such
- hyperionshift, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4Will you sit down, scratch it and give me a beat!
Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to introduce the high hat...
O_o - connieLingus, on 10/08/2008, -6/+9give me a call when i can spin some trance and breaks...
- Phocas, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3REWIND!!!!!
- evanmorris, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3I like it. Throw back to some Kid n' Play. Next they need breakdance hero.
- edrift101, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4Enjoy your crates - I'll stick with my current setup (Laptop running Torq, Xponent controller and a HD full of hot tracks)
- grifta67, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3You would think Konami would have learned their lesson by now. How many innovative game ideas are they gonna perfect only to let other companies adapt and beat them to the US market with??
- Key2gb, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3But will they have DJ Shadow?
- trafficlight, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Get off my lawn!
- samrum, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2Sounds like you'd like Crackin' DJ
- enotswhat, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2when they should be out buying Carpal Tunnel
http://www.last.fm/music/Kid+Koala/Carpal+Tunnel+S ... - ChayD, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2Okay, now, if you did this professionally, would you rather break your back lugging ***** of crates out of the car and into the gig, three nights a week or one 200-disc CD wallet or a single laptop. Yeah, vinyl is cool, and definitely a thing to learn if you want to kick it old skool (or essential if you're going to be doing some turntablist stuff), but in practical terms, give me CDs or mp3s anyday. Besides, a decent CD player like a Technics CDJ can do some pretty decent stuff that vinyl could never do. That's not to say that I don't like vinyl, I do have a sweet collection, and even some SL-1210s to spin it on, but in practical terms, mp3s will be the future. I don't rate CDs that much, had too many bad experiences with them ***** up due to a scratch or a busted laser, and having to revert to vinyl :)
- enantiodromia, on 10/08/2008, -0/+2"I got five pieces of candy!"
"I got a chocolate bar!"
"I got a quarter!"
Charlie Brown: "I got a rock."
I gotta got got gotta, i got gotta i gotta rock. i gotta rock ririrockirikki i gitgitgitgitgotta i gotta rock - inactive, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2no, I think it is a blatant rip off of DDR. Its the same exact gameplay.
- NorrisOBE, on 10/09/2008, -0/+2Give me a call if this game can scratch anything above +120 BPM
- SiRWhxr, on 10/08/2008, -3/+5I'd buy it.
