- bwinebarger, on 05/05/2009, -5/+41I've been spending more time with my 360 as it is. I don't think my Wii can take much more rejection.
- khaosx2030, on 05/05/2009, -3/+27If they make it exactly like the Wii, I'll end up playing it for a week and then complete forget it exists.
- megaton, on 05/05/2009, -5/+25You know where webcams don't work well? In the dark.
You know how many people play video games in dark environments? A lot. - strictnein, on 05/05/2009, -3/+19Infrared light ftw.
- halohunter, on 05/05/2009, -4/+18This is sounding good. I was doubtful when the rumour first surfaced at engadget but the chain of events that ars outlines makes it sound very likely.
A suprise Nintendo announcement, Sonys new rumoured motion controller, and now this? We're in for one good E3. - voomfoo, on 05/05/2009, -5/+17I just wish the wii had been better...
- exscind, on 05/05/2009, -1/+10I want to see something come out of Johnny Lee's head-tracking (i.e., Wii-remote V.R.) demo. He has already developed the concept, and I understand Microsoft hired him...
http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/The+Knowledge+Chamb ... - TheVirus, on 05/05/2009, -4/+12Too true. Haven't touched my Wii since Metroid.
- TheBlueVulcan, on 05/05/2009, -2/+9Really? You base that on a single example? This seems like it has severe limitations...like being confined to the camera's view, and having your image appear on-screen (lest you have no idea whether the camera can see you or not). No tactile feedback either...how are you supposed to move a character in the game world?
We saw similar examples of this on EyeToy, and it wasn't very impressive then either. - RoroCo, on 05/05/2009, -3/+10I don't even turn on my Wii anymore. I am kicking myself for not signing a pre-nup with that relationship. I want my money back.
- the8thbit, on 05/06/2009, -2/+9MadWorld? No More Heroes? Zack and Wiki? Brawl? Little King's Story? Bomberman Blast? Super Paper Mario? Boom Blox? Megaman 9? Warioware: Smooth Moves? Art Style? Lost Winds? de Blob? Trauma Center: New Blood? Toki Tori? House of the Dead: Overkill? BlastWorks? Mario Strikers Charged? My Life as a King?
- jeremymccurdy, on 05/05/2009, -0/+6Because this isn't a controller, it reads body movements accurately with a camera.
- SpeedyG, on 05/05/2009, -2/+8The EyeToy would like a word with you all.
- the8thbit, on 05/06/2009, -1/+7*640K is more RAM than anyone will every need. [for MSDOS]
Guess what? He was right. - MxM111, on 05/05/2009, -1/+7"then motion sensitive controllers"
Haha! but you see there is no controller, thus there is no copying. It is simply motion sensing without you holding any controller. - JediPrime, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5Here are some demos of the 3D camera

Your link is full of fail. You shouldn't be so condescending and then bork your comment. I imagine that is why you're being dugg down.
Proper link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9WngYJoFVI - DelMonte, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5"Nintendo should have shipped the Wii with the true 1:1 motion sensing that they're just introducing now. Then it would have been decent."
Yeah and additional Wiimotes at launch would've cost 80$ + 25$ for the nunchuck, and it would've risen the price of the console by 40$... It makes perfect sense /s. - Dr3w, on 05/05/2009, -0/+5Fight Night Round 4 might have just gotten more interesting.
- nerdherder, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5Douche.
- chaosblade77, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5It probably has something to do with this:
"The URL contained a malformed video ID." - TheBlueVulcan, on 05/06/2009, -1/+6@TheVirus
If you stopped playing Galaxy after 10 minutes, then you didn't even really play the game. - burchie2, on 05/05/2009, -3/+7Wow, this looks badass. Isn't Sony supposed to announce a motion control peripheral?..kind of puts a damper on their plans...

...check the boxing at the end...looks like it blows wii out of the water... - pirategonzo, on 05/05/2009, -1/+5For less than a hundred bucks and then you can go back to playing real games. Sounds like a win to me. Better than having a Wii collecting dust.
- RandaII, on 05/05/2009, -7/+11wow the xbox fanboys don't want to hear your truth. Microsoft has ***** alot of people over and yet the fanboys pretend that it never happened. Sorry guy but you burring someone will not make it any less true.
- Singularitarian, on 05/05/2009, -0/+4Shouldn't there be at least two different cameras working together, so that they can triangulate 3D positions?
- jeremymccurdy, on 05/05/2009, -0/+4I love when companies get really competitive. We see the most innovations and leaps forward as each company tries to one up the other guy.
- RGB0099CC, on 05/05/2009, -1/+5I'm excited about the possibilities mentioned in this article, but saying that it blows the wii out of the water based off of one tiny picture seems like a leap.
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -2/+6Some how I think this will be about as Useful as the Sega Cd addon was for the Genesis..
- Elranzer, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3Either that or we're in for a disappoint if these out-of-control rumors don't come true.
- WilliamAdama, on 05/05/2009, -1/+4Damn this gets me excited for E3.
- JollyDumple, on 05/05/2009, -1/+4Yes, but a constructive kick in the ass. Something to make them step it up a little.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3The warranty part is pointless - my friend sent in his soft modded 360 with a burned game in the drive that was out of warranty, and they shipped him back the burned disc separately. He did receive a refurbished or repaired XBox360 later. They'll fix anything, regardless of warranty.
It's a pretty big shame you folks didn't know that though, eh? lol - DrunkRobot, on 05/05/2009, -3/+6Amen.
- stuffradio, on 05/05/2009, -1/+4You forgot the Apple, Windows and *insert name here* fanboys.
- LantisGaius, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3This sentence summed it up nicely: "Imagine a Microsoft Surface—without the Surface"
very nice - zadadka, on 05/05/2009, -2/+5I'm afraid my mind wandered off when I got to "hand-held peripheral"...
- RGB0099CC, on 05/05/2009, -1/+3***** the sunlight, you can tell by the pixels.
/s - williemain, on 05/05/2009, -3/+5I will, as soon as I have enough capital.
- jerrycan, on 05/05/2009, -16/+18How about a reliable 360 instead?
- Elranzer, on 05/06/2009, -1/+3Nintendo's pretty disappointed by the Wii's failure too.
Oh wait... - inactive, on 05/05/2009, -0/+2Ditto! I'm really disappointed with Wii's failure.
- BlueCadenza, on 05/05/2009, -4/+6Its not going to kill anything. The Wii was family friendly, party friendly, kid-friendly, and nerd-cool all at the same time. This is something other consoles have struggled to do and have only recently succeeded with the help of Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Microsoft's 3D interface might be a lot more advanced, but it just won't have the appeal and marketability to kill the Wii. People have already fought in line and waited weeks to buy their Wii last year, it'll take a lot of push to get a nerdbox and turn into something else.
- LordofChaosIori, on 05/07/2009, -0/+2This thread was brought to you by puberty.
- dronkmunk, on 05/05/2009, -0/+2Is that you, Jake Busey?
- inactive, on 05/05/2009, -0/+2"Monsters of the Id..." - just saw that movie again last week. Really brilliant for its time.
- lektroluv, on 05/05/2009, -5/+7As long as they never ever ever move away from normal controllers it's fine.
- bodangy, on 05/06/2009, -1/+3I just asked a friend who'd told me he'd buy my Wii and all of the games I have for it from me. I really want to go out and get a 360 already. I'm sick and tired of waiting around for good new games to come out while the 360 already has a crap ton of amazing games.
- Gizza, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2Clearly your mind had wandered before then, because it said "without a handheld peripheral".
- CalcProgrammer1, on 05/05/2009, -3/+5Not entirely true, I got a free 360 that was broken (Red Ring of Death) and tried to fix it. It was on and off using the X-clamp method and I couldn't keep it working for longer than a week or two. After like a year I found a new fix (Team Hybrid's X-clamp Replacement) and did that, now it's been working fine for over a month and a half. Maybe you just have to find the right fix. I ended up buying a new 360 in January because the broken one was really unstable...then a few weeks later I find out about the hybrid mod and fix it...ah well, needed some accessories that came with the new one and the new one is a Jasper.
