- EMFK, on 03/25/2009, -4/+69Meantime, still no word on the release of Diablo 3. Sigh.
- adm01, on 03/26/2009, -0/+63Just finish Starcraft 2 already!!!!!
- bloodwings, on 03/26/2009, -0/+44I remember when I was a kid and I saw commercials for games. I only had to wait a couple weeks for the game to be released.
Now there's previews for games that MIGHT come out within the next couple years, then we also have announcements a few months prior to these previews, now we have rumors that there might be an announcement for a preview of a game that might come out within the next 5 years...so its a rumor of an announcement of a preview of a pre-release or some patch from the future that might make a game or add to a game or announce a new game or a previously cancelled game that now might be a new game...sorry i got lost... - AnonBuffalo, on 03/26/2009, -2/+33***** this. Give me Diablo 3, ignore all others!
- jamwil87, on 03/26/2009, -0/+30World of World of Warcraft
- Tunic, on 03/25/2009, -4/+33Anyone remember back before WoW, when people speculated "World of Diablo" I know "Diablo 3" is the next logical sequence, but maybe something out of the diablo universe would be nice.
I would personally love a crossover MMO where Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo all meet in some cluster of ***** awesome. (Calling this one for the future.) - krustie, on 03/26/2009, -3/+31warcraft 4 RTS FTW plz
- SohailKhanifar, on 03/26/2009, -1/+23They announced the game 9 months ago. that isn't *just* announced.
edit: they've also been working on it since 2005. - GoKings, on 03/26/2009, -0/+22Dear Blizzard:
Please put every man hour into releasing Diablo 3
Sincerely:
Guy that's been waiting for Diablo 3 for 6 years now. - Thebruce88, on 03/26/2009, -1/+239 months ago might not have been *just* announced back in the year 1995. In Blizzard terms, in the year 2009, I'd consider two YEARS ago to be *just* announced.
- wisedude, on 03/26/2009, -0/+20Don't be a selfish jerk, we've been waiting for starcraft 2 for 10 years....
- Viper023, on 03/26/2009, -0/+18All of you are wrong.
of course its going be lost vikings III - Darkyuubi, on 03/26/2009, -2/+19Starcraft Ghost is making a come back.
- Diggnabbit, on 03/26/2009, -0/+15It's clearly not a rumbor...
- kaoitik, on 03/26/2009, -0/+14World of Starcraft! ***** yeah!
- Muss, on 03/26/2009, -0/+13They worked on World of Warcraft and Warcraft 3 all at the same time.
- Yaanu, on 03/26/2009, -0/+12System of Starcraft, SOS. Likely an abbreviation I'll be using in more than one meaning after it's released.
And then it's Dominion of Diablo. Then Realm of Rock 'N' Roll Racing. - rpapi100, on 03/26/2009, -0/+11Yup, that's the Blizzard M.O., sucks for tweens with no patience but as an older gamer (not an older person mind you) I appreciate the time they take in making their games perfectly balanced and pretty much bug-free. All Blizzard games I've tried (pretty much every single one except their first one and their MMO) have always given me a great experience that other studios very rarely give often, if not ever.
Blizzards does not build cars, they build tanks and IMO more game dev's. should take them as example. - oteque, on 03/25/2009, -5/+17Another addicted game? oh no no no...WoW already made people crazy :D
- DoodleMaster, on 03/26/2009, -4/+14It's hardly a rumbor I mean it says top-secret right there on the job page
http://www.blizzard.com/us/jobopp/
next gen mmo and unannounced..
does the word rumor make things more interesting or something? - dacunni1, on 03/26/2009, -0/+10I know. My WoW game is so addicted to crack... and StarCraft is always leaving dirty needles all over the place... I don't need another addicted game.
- Harabeck, on 03/25/2009, -1/+11Diablo is already incredibly close to Warcraft... Look at the classes, spells, and skill trees of Diablo 2 vs Wow. It's the same basic idea. "World of DIablo" has been out for years, it's just called Wow, and they miffed the story a bit.
But there is no way they'd be stupid enough to mix franchises, that's just plain corny. - Harabeck, on 03/26/2009, -0/+9Because they have enough money to have multiple development teams?
- PacmanMafia, on 03/26/2009, -0/+9Don't bring that ***** in here!
- Butters757, on 03/26/2009, -0/+8Do you want a crappy, buggy game released now or a very polished game that wins lots of rewards a few months later?
- yohnstoppable, on 03/26/2009, -0/+7***** both of you, I've been waiting for a Hungry Hungry Hippos sequel for years.
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 03/26/2009, -0/+7> "Do you want a crappy, buggy game released now or a very polished game that wins lots of rewards a few months later?"
A crappy, buggy now, of course. If there's one thing people like more than sex, it's complaining. (<-- See?) - Gizza, on 03/26/2009, -0/+7You clearly haven't been following Blizzard for very long. They tend to take 4-5 years minimum on their games.
- LordVance, on 03/26/2009, -0/+7Because there's any other way to monetize an MMORPG on that scale that's successful in the west?
- firebert69, on 03/26/2009, -0/+6World of Lost Vikings
- rpapi100, on 03/26/2009, -0/+6Naa, I bet it's that pony game.
/sarc.
P.S. Still coming from Blizzard I would probably buy a pony game in an instant without reading the box. Being Blizzard it would probably be the best (and only?) pony game ever. - jgtg32a, on 03/26/2009, -0/+6They already announced when it would be released
"When it's done"
Which is the release date of all Blizzard games - artfiend77, on 03/26/2009, -0/+6The only thing that would hurt WoW......probably a Baldurs Gate MMO.
- sylvanknave, on 03/26/2009, -0/+6Come on blizzard. Just get the games that are currently developing FOREVER out before going on other projects.
- CoreyTamas, on 03/26/2009, -0/+6Ok, wasn't this mentioned months ago? And we're acting like it's breaking news?
Bonus: I read it *here* months ago. - specter19, on 03/26/2009, -3/+8War of craftworld
- LordVance, on 03/26/2009, -0/+4@rpapi100 - most development studio's don't have nearly the product control that Blizzard does. As much as I agree that Blizzard tends to put out very high quality products (whether you like the games or not is a different discussion), most other studio's simply don't have the power to say "We need 6 more months, and were taking it."
Hellgate: London serves as a pretty good example of what happens when you aren't a behemoth able to take all the time you need to finish a product. - synep, on 03/26/2009, -1/+5When you were a kid, they could make a game in only a couple weeks.
Well, that might be exaggerating a bit, but I guarantee you that the development time for Super Mario Brothers was absolutely nothing compared to a modern MMO. - specter19, on 03/26/2009, -0/+4Man anything that makes the front page is "breaking news" even if it been around for 6 years.
- LordVance, on 03/26/2009, -1/+5Diablo and Warcraft always had very different tones and settings though, which is why so many people are disappointed with the Diablo III art we've seen so far. It looks like a Warcraft game, not a Diablo game.
- Renian, on 03/26/2009, -0/+4Universe of Starcraft, for the next-gen MMO. "World" doesn't cut it.
- BlackJackJester, on 03/26/2009, -1/+5generic FPS ftw......
- Charlotte_Web, on 03/26/2009, -0/+4World of Lost Vikings MMO.
- rdyup, on 03/25/2009, -1/+4anything is possible when it comes to these guys
- Charlotte_Web, on 03/26/2009, -0/+3We need a skateboard-based shooter.
- davechua, on 03/26/2009, -0/+3Maybe it'll be an official version of DOTA...
- Pr0phet, on 03/26/2009, -0/+3Pong II. Beat that.
- Cuongfu, on 03/26/2009, -0/+3Or Starcraft II :(
- ckhw2, on 03/26/2009, -2/+5I'll bet their design strategy went something like this:
"What makes WoW so addictive?... We needed to isolate those features, emphasize them in the new game, and increase the monthly subscription fee"
Seriously, I DESPISE any pricing model that involves monthly fees. - jamwil87, on 03/26/2009, -1/+4http://www.theonion.com/content/video/warcraft_seq ...
