- KnockoutNerd, on 02/11/2008, -15/+256GTA IV might be groundbreaking but nothing beats the leap from 2d to 3d.
- zengonzo, on 02/11/2008, -4/+173It's difficult to imagine a greater leap than from 2D to 3D. Perhaps if IV had immediately followed III, but by San Andreas the series had become pretty complex.
I'm dying to see for myself, anyhow. - zengonzo, on 02/11/2008, -9/+174If all of the other GTA games have disappointed you, why would you have any interest in this one?
- gypsi, on 02/11/2008, -2/+1433D to 5D?
- XFLOP20, on 02/11/2008, -8/+114I can't wait until April 29th.
- kinseyincanada, on 02/11/2008, -3/+97the auto-save feature is a great addition, i never liked having to travel for a while just to save, San Andreas was a disappointment for me, the game was just to large this one looks to be all that i would ask for.
- badwithcomputer, on 02/11/2008, -16/+107I don't know about the rest of you, but I read all of that and now I have a boner.
- havokzero, on 02/11/2008, -5/+91This article is 100% hype, 0% fact.
The only way that Rockstar could really deliver a leap "bigger than from 2D to 3D" would be if they allowed most buildings to be entered without having to endure loading screens, and if the player could actually visit all of the floors. Given that GTA IV is set in Liberty City, the addition of this feature would make me wet myself with anticipation. - Chaoticfist, on 02/11/2008, -5/+87All i can say is do not ***** this up Rockstar.....
- Langford, on 02/11/2008, -19/+86Let me know when they decide to release it for PCs.
- cheddar, on 02/11/2008, -6/+67Misleading title. They're saying it's a bigger leap than when GTA went from 2D to 3D, not when games jumped from 2D games to 3D.
- iashraf, on 02/11/2008, -9/+69When will it come out for PC?
- Phigg, on 02/11/2008, -8/+673D to 4D ?
- Krovvy, on 02/11/2008, -1/+58Exactly, I remember the camera mission where you had to take snap shots of 5 or so guys, but only after a long ***** ride to the destination. I played that mission the first time, took forever to get there, take the pictures and then go all the way back to the save. I was almost their, maybe only 30 yards from the save point, and I got blindsided by a train. :[

- thedinomeister, on 02/11/2008, -3/+45If you remember "Behind Enemy Lines" then you know that Bellic (GTA IV character) is the bad guy that chases Owen Wilson in the movie:
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/1155/bel2007033 ... - ShooterMcGavin, on 02/11/2008, -6/+48I just wish it was coming out for PC on the 29th of April too... :(
- zengonzo, on 02/11/2008, -1/+40That's a good point. I enjoyed San Andreas' size, mostly because of the amount of exploration it provided. But there were times when the size was tiring, when you simply wanted to get somewhere. Growing in detail is definitely the right way to go.
- wild, on 02/11/2008, -1/+37Euphoria Engine.
Search for it on YouTube. Thats the engine that is going to take people completely by surprise. - BackEnThaWomb, on 02/11/2008, -2/+37great...now i have one
- wild, on 02/11/2008, -0/+35Here, I went ahead and did the footwork for you:

Click around all of the related videos while you are at. No animation will ever be exactly the same. Procedurally determined interactions are going to change the way you view games. - norman619, on 02/11/2008, -3/+38I've read plenty of "glowing reviews" for games I knew I would never like. They never made me feel like spending my money on them. If you do then you can only blame yourself for being a dumb ass and wasting your money. It's like knowing you are lactose intolerant but going ahead and drinking milk based on "glowing reviews."
- nymphetamine, on 02/11/2008, -2/+34But you must.
- Cerialthriller, on 02/11/2008, -1/+31well i think the autosave was leftout so you could screw around and see how many cops you could blow up and it wouldnt save all the money you wasted on guns and hospital bills, lol.
- raisinbrainMMM, on 02/11/2008, -1/+292D to 3D was mostly just visual representation, which also caused some issues with interactivity to have to be addressed (pedestrian AI, world interactivity).
I think the leap they are talking about between San Andreas and IV is the increase in complexity of the world interactivity, AI, and scripting not really about visual effects, world boundaries, or new abilities. - o0joshua0o, on 02/11/2008, -0/+27It would be revolutionary enough if I could interact with the pedestrians in the game in a way that didn't involve beating, shooting, or robbing them.
- duckonquack, on 02/11/2008, -5/+30Thats... disturbing.
- norman619, on 02/11/2008, -1/+24I hope they don't have that annoying thing of people and cars vanishing and appearing out of knowhere.
- FatLoser, on 02/12/2008, -0/+22Unless you click the button too hard, then your session expires and you catch syphilis. And reloading the page DOES NOT WORK.
- mickhead, on 02/11/2008, -1/+23360 too.
- norman619, on 02/11/2008, -4/+264D is 3D animation. 3 directional dimensions and 1 dimension of time. The time dimension allows for motion. A 3D world is a world w/o any motion. We live in a 4D world. :-)
- zengonzo, on 02/11/2008, -1/+22You are troubled.
- gypsi, on 02/11/2008, -5/+25gamers will fall for anything
- joegibes, on 02/11/2008, -3/+213D to 4D?
- BambinosKrib, on 02/11/2008, -11/+29I be waiting for the PC release.
- santaliqueur, on 02/11/2008, -6/+23I could HAVE sworn that I learned it was wrong to say "could of" in 3rd grade.
- dsmx, on 02/12/2008, -0/+17If you think that you are a certified idiot, at most you would need 1000 dollars to build a PC that would run Bioshock better than the xbox 360.
- nthitz, on 02/11/2008, -3/+20Stripped down, GTA is a hell of a lot more than a car game.
- KingGorilla, on 02/12/2008, -0/+16Ignignoct: "You and your 4th dimension...."
Frylock: What about it?
Ignignoct: "It's cute. We have five."
Err: "Th-thousand."
Ignignoct: "Yes, five thousand."
Frylock: Well I only see two.
Ignignoct:"Well that sounds like a personal problem to me." - stabbingkittens, on 02/11/2008, -2/+18"there won't be cooperative multiplayer because it wouldn't really fit in with the game's story"
Cop out: 50 percent of GTA is rampaging for the sake of it. I thought they would have tried it since they had those 2 player modes in San Andreas, and GTA Liberty stories has an awesome 2 player mode with NPCs as well. They could have done it dammit! - doshindude, on 02/11/2008, -16/+32It's not bigger than a leap from 2D to 3D. They need to stop kidding themselves. Nothing was more amazing than watching Mario run in 3 dimensions for the first time in 1996.
- chaos7, on 02/11/2008, -1/+16hype
- yingjai, on 02/11/2008, -2/+16that's even more disturbing... having a boner because someone else has one.
- cathpah, on 02/11/2008, -0/+14looking forward to the new "hot coffee"s?
- dsmx, on 02/12/2008, -0/+14Major ownage. Didn't anyone teach you to look both ways and listen before crossing railways?
- norman619, on 02/11/2008, -0/+14Correction: Nowhere
Wish we could edit our own comments.... - inactive, on 02/11/2008, -1/+15its more fun blocking trolls like you :)
- voetsjoeba, on 02/11/2008, -1/+15Not even GTA III ? I had tons of fun with that. Hell, I even had lots of fun with GTA II.
- 15thPD, on 02/11/2008, -5/+18Then shut up and GTFO.
- FishHammer, on 02/11/2008, -1/+14you need to find more important things to scoff about. also you need to read the article before you ***** in the comments section. He was referring to the leap from GTA2 to GTA3 (2D...to 3D) not the invention of the 3D game.
