- indiancompanion, on 12/04/2008, -0/+120Make it as DLC and people that want it will buy it, is it really that hard?
- 4LeggedtriPod, on 12/04/2008, -3/+86"...and the Dixie Chicks. All pretty hard-rocking country types."
lulz - ryanspeck, on 12/04/2008, -5/+80Because the living room of a trailer isn't big enough for all the acoustic guitar, lap steel, washboard, and jug controllers.
Plus they're still still working on the dynamics of measuring yodel pitches. - codeblue315, on 12/04/2008, -9/+72It is called Rock Band for a reason. I'm surprised they haven't made a Country Band yet quite honestly.
- slayernine, on 12/05/2008, -2/+57Whats with all the musician types hating on rock band fans. Its a game, we never for a moment think we are playing actual music and not just hitting buttons to a beat.
- avataros, on 12/05/2008, -0/+46I'd like to play Dueling Banjos on my Rock Band.
- superstewy, on 12/05/2008, -3/+43People are actually complaining about this? For eff sake. Maybe they should also make a Punk Band, or a Heavy Metal Band, or a Alternative Band, instead of putting all the music together in downloadable form where you can PICK AND CHOOSE what music you buy.
I love rock music, I love metal, I also love some country. I will happily buy those tracks. If you don't like em, don't buy em, just like previous releases.
And what the hell is a "Rock Band Purists"? Does that mean living in a basement, eating Cheetos's and passing Rock Band on expert? - SlamShut, on 12/05/2008, -15/+54ROCK Band.
R O C K Band.
Understand? - inactive, on 12/05/2008, -4/+38You obviously don't know anything about Johnny Cash OR music if you think that he is not country.
Country music is not all Dixie Chicks and Brooks and Dunn. 99% of Johnny Cash's career is the very epitome of country music male vocals. - ivantalboys, on 12/05/2008, -1/+34Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here?
Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western. - stx666, on 12/05/2008, -1/+34Rather Mr J Cash than Nickleback
- BigDHimself, on 12/05/2008, -0/+32'round here we don't take too kindly to people who don't take kindly...
- Kinsbane, on 12/04/2008, -0/+31Yes, common sense and logic really are that hard.
- andreeee, on 12/05/2008, -1/+31PLEASE ELABORATE OR I EXPLODE.
- georgemason01, on 12/05/2008, -1/+30No, I need further clarification.
- VinnieDaMac, on 12/05/2008, -1/+28The Rock Band library has already been "polluted" by stuff from iCarly and High School Musical. I personally don't care though, more options is always good, however, I hope they don't spend too much resources pursuing country artists over actual rock bands. Also, I'd like to see what this guy has to say about Rap music, you know, just to see if he still remains as open-minded as he wants the RB fans to be.
- Cglass, on 12/05/2008, -1/+26On the contrary, I'm publishing my first album of clicks and and wammy bar slams pretty soon.
Granted it sounds worse without the game, but it's music to my ears. - sjbdallas, on 12/05/2008, -1/+21If they do a "Country Band" they'll have an excuse to release a new device. Specifically a fiddle.
- slayernine, on 12/05/2008, -0/+20So its a band comprised of rocks? I don't get it
- doshindude, on 12/05/2008, -1/+19Rockband.com forums != all rock band players.
Most rock band forum members are douchebags. - Pinkshisno, on 12/05/2008, -1/+18Cglass, you should consider perhaps a small amount of cowbell.
- Brenky, on 12/05/2008, -2/+19Who cares if they're offering country music as DLC? It's not as though it's an on-disc track. No one's making you play it. There are hundreds of other songs you can choose from.
Even though I dislike pretty much all country, I'm glad that more genres are being added to RB's repertoire. - naiku, on 12/05/2008, -0/+16"why dont you explain this to me like im a eight year old"
- thegamingguy, on 12/04/2008, -2/+17I'd maybe pay for Johnny Cash and for sure download any song that is free.
- Y0tsuya, on 12/05/2008, -0/+15I personally would go for a banjo controller.
- hootie233, on 12/05/2008, -19/+34Johnny Cash is not country, thats like calling Bob Dylan alternative.
- rukeypoo, on 12/05/2008, -2/+16So it's downloadable content. If you don't want it, don't download it.
Man that was difficult. - proliance, on 12/05/2008, -2/+16Try saying that Johnny Cash is not country in Nashville.
You'll have tread marks from every pickup in town running across your back. - heynow21, on 12/05/2008, -2/+16A lot of "new" country music actually is rock, but the producers throw in a steel guitar or a fiddle to put it back in it's country cage.
It's all bad though. - inactive, on 12/05/2008, -1/+15A lot of new "country" music is pop music with a pedal steel thrown in. And it does suck.
There's a lot of awesome "alt-country" bands out there though. - TheFinaleofSeem, on 12/05/2008, -0/+13Don't forget the spoons and mouth harp!
- freehunter, on 12/05/2008, -1/+13Johnny Cash used to be considered rock and roll. Plenty of country songs have kickin solos, check out pretty much anything by Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Keith Anderson, Eric Heatherly, etc. Not all country music is folk music.
- sjbdallas, on 12/05/2008, -1/+13If you're gonna play in Texas, you better have a fiddle in the band.
- robbob, on 12/05/2008, -1/+11David Allen Coe has some catchy filthy tunes
- hoodoodave, on 12/05/2008, -3/+13I'm not even into country, but some Billy Brag or Hank Williams III would ***** own on RB. Or even some Cash ("I've been everywhere") or Woody Guthrie. Just because it's country doesn't mean it's honky-tonk.
- freehunter, on 12/05/2008, -0/+10You gotta have a fiddle in the band. Improper grammar is not enough, you need to take it one step further.
- Shazbuckle, on 12/05/2008, -2/+11DONT LIKE IT?
DONT DOWNLOAD IT.
You guys are crying and whining over ***** all. - winmywii, on 12/05/2008, -3/+12Digg for "rocket surgery"
- ericrous, on 12/05/2008, -0/+9Was he the one that molested you, or was that another guy?
- catfarmer, on 12/05/2008, -0/+8"ok. Now can you explain it to me like I'm a five year old?"
- joehodgson, on 12/05/2008, -0/+8This weekend I am going to try my very hardest to use the phrase "its not Rocket Surgery"
- ChileanGoD, on 12/05/2008, -0/+8Why not Polka Band? With the accordion controller.
- bbqsalad, on 12/05/2008, -1/+9so are most digg users
- bryantee, on 12/05/2008, -1/+9Could definitely hear some Dead, or Flying Burrito Brothers, Cash, Wilco, Eagles, stuff like that.
- jjones20, on 12/05/2008, -1/+8Id play country songs in Rock Band, southern rock seems to be best though for the game, where you get that country feel, and a bit of twang, but you arent singing dolly partons 9-5.
- crazyhorse13, on 12/05/2008, -1/+8I'm sure all the bands in the game right now are just saints, though.
/s
At any rate, once you got Cash in your head, the only thing that'll get it out is The Beatles. - ericrous, on 12/05/2008, -1/+8If Johnny Cash is country, then I'd rather be country than have to listen to any number of ***** emo bands that somehow made it into Rock Band.
- xeno439, on 12/05/2008, -1/+8Blue Brothers quotes will always get a digg from me.
- sandersdamnit, on 12/05/2008, -1/+7If you say you like "music" but you can't get down on Mr. Johnny Cash , Carl Perkins, Gram Parsons, Willie Nelson, Hank WIlliams (1 and 3), Merle ***** Haggard or anyone like that, then you can go to hell. Also, why not make a Funk Band? Throw in some Parliament/Funkadelic or some Kool and the Gang, or or perhaps some Sly and the Family Stone, maybe a little Curtis Mayfield. There is a lot of good music out there if you're willing to branch out and not narrow every little ***** thing down to a genre.
- skoalno1, on 12/05/2008, -1/+7your opinion sucks.
