- samard2002, on 04/29/2009, -23/+103I am glad I waited to not buy a PSP so that I could also not buy this PSP.
- scy1192, on 04/29/2009, -7/+65Is it safe to assume backwards compatibility will be 0%?
- inactive, on 04/29/2009, -4/+57Here is what I would like to see
Built In HDD
Download Games Over WiFi
A Good Web Browser
DS emulator
Ability to play 360 games
Toaster
Projector
Television
Phone
Car alarm - WELLDOITLIVE, on 04/29/2009, -0/+39Fleshlight built in
- phosphor112, on 04/29/2009, -1/+31This will be of no interest to those who have a PSP (obvbiously), but reports are also saying that over 100 PSP titles will be available to download on PSN. So thats not bad. Hopefully they will kill the prices on those memory sticks. Lower prices = more games. Also, battery life would be seriously improved. Which is a good thing.
And for those who are bashing and trolling, why even post on here? If you dont like it, or have no interest, go else where. - jgtg32a, on 04/29/2009, -3/+32@2phosphor112

Oh you were serious - DigitalRifleman, on 04/29/2009, -2/+30Dual analog sticks....please Sony! What do you not understand about that?
I own one the first editions of the PSP, that is honestly the only thing I felt was hindering it.
Plenty complained about that, or the lack there-of, why cut it Sony?
Backwards compatibility would be very nice also. Don't shun those who actually purchased the first ones! - harazek, on 04/29/2009, -3/+29FTA
"There will be a memory card expansion slot, but that old-school UMD drive will disappear, with Sony moving toward a digital-download delivery system for games. Since the UMD is going away, Sony will have over 100 classic and new PSP titles available for download at launch".
Your UMDs will be rendered useless with the new PSP, so yeah I think it's safe to say backwards compatibility is gonna be poor. - AlKo, on 04/29/2009, -4/+29FTA: "Should Nintendo be worried?"
No - SyxxtySyxx, on 04/29/2009, -14/+34Sweet. A new piece of ***** that doesn't ***** work. I bet this one has more memory and megapixels and whatnot than my other TV ***** I already own.
- Topher06, on 04/29/2009, -3/+20Its been 4 years buddy, lets face it, you are never getting one.
- bilbravo, on 04/29/2009, -1/+17Is it too difficult to punctuate and capitalize?
- tehWyman, on 08/19/2009, -1/+17So I put a PSP in your PSP.
- the8thbit, on 04/29/2009, -0/+16I think your thinking of Apple there.
- phosphor112, on 04/29/2009, -4/+19Maybe they will have some authentication service, which you pop in your UMD into your old PSP, register it with PSN, and it will give you a free download of that game?
That would be awesome.
It would sure help sell those PSP's atleast. - makkaveli19, on 04/29/2009, -0/+15ps2....dumb ass
- dsmx, on 04/29/2009, -1/+15I think your thinking of microsoft there.
- Tddupre, on 04/29/2009, -2/+16would it be hard to type out the word "one"
- ivosilva, on 04/29/2009, -1/+14You forgot dishwasher.
- kevro, on 04/29/2009, -1/+14"Since the UMD is going away, Sony will have over 100 classic and new PSP titles available for download at launch (Gran Turismo Mobile is said to be one of the premier launch titles)," 1Up says." The suits must be having a joygasim about this, They get to sell you your games all over again in a non-physical format.
- inactive, on 04/29/2009, -3/+16yo dawg
- inactive, on 04/29/2009, -2/+14I heard you like PSP's.
- CivicTV, on 08/14/2009, -1/+13***** IT.
- BinaryDelt, on 04/29/2009, -1/+13You do realize that's a mockup, right?
- arjtin, on 04/29/2009, -0/+11I don't think this is an entirely new console. So I don't think sony would change the control scheme until there actually is a next generation of the psp. This seems more like nintendo updating the ds lite with the dsi.
- benologist, on 04/29/2009, -2/+13PSPs get a bad rap but they are a lot of fun, they play videos really nicely and the games start at like $5.
I wonder if they'll give us a way to download the games we've already bought? - Kurosu, on 04/29/2009, -0/+10But will it blend?
- anthropodeus, on 04/29/2009, -1/+10whatever follows "in other news" should not have to do with the previous article.
ex: in other news, nintendo decided to delay the launch of their new DS, saying, "why bother? we have no competition." - solid12345, on 04/29/2009, -7/+16And in other news the product will come packaged with a free desperation card.
- Philbert, on 04/29/2009, -0/+9A disk based HDD might, but a solid state drive would be perfect.
- jacksons98, on 04/29/2009, -1/+10No controller = iphone sucks for gaming
- deweyhewson, on 04/29/2009, -2/+11@phosphor112, I had a thought along those lines, but it would never happen. It would make it far too easy to rent/buy-and-return/borrow a game and register it to yourself, and Sony would never design a system that even remotely facilitates piracy.
Hell, millions of PSP owners want enabled homebrew on their PSPs and are willing to crack it to get it, and Sony refuses to release a firmware capable of it. - deweyhewson, on 04/29/2009, -1/+98gb for $40?!? That's insane....ly high!
You can get an 8gb SDHC card for $20. Sony has just always loved to create their own formats and charge excessively for them. - bilbravo, on 04/29/2009, -1/+9Yeah if the rumor of no dual analogs is true then Sony truly is stupid. However I am enjoying the idea of no UMD... except I do not want to purchase my games again (however, I only have 3 UMD games so it's not a big deal I suppose).
- NJPENSO, on 04/29/2009, -0/+8It's not the real design you idiot
- mark5hs, on 04/29/2009, -0/+7That "artist's" rendition looks like crap.
- matt247, on 04/29/2009, -0/+7http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AyVh1_vWYQ
- jacksons98, on 04/29/2009, -0/+6Except that the vast majority of iphone games aren't even worth 99 cents
- reddyap1, on 04/29/2009, -1/+7UMM actually Blu-Ray is doing very well and is the standard HD format now. I will let you keep going in your biased ways though cause you seem quite content.
- jeremymccurdy, on 04/29/2009, -1/+6So basically they saw the DSi and said "Well if they can make a DS that's not compatible with the GBA games a person owns, we'll have to go one step further and make a PSP that's not compatible with the PSP games a person owns!" GENIUS!
- inactive, on 04/29/2009, -0/+5Meat?
- dsmx, on 04/29/2009, -0/+5Patapon 2, Jeanne d'arc, worms open warfare 2, wipeout pulse, god of war, everybody's golf 2.... the list of great games for the psp is quite long.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 04/29/2009, -0/+5Dual analog sticks will have to wait for the true next generation PSP. You can't just shoehorn that into an existing product. None of the old games will use it and if you make new games that require it, then only people with the new model can play it. And coming up with two vastly different, but usable, control schemes is not always feasible given budget constraints and deadlines.
- 2007GT, on 04/29/2009, -4/+9Memory Stick Pro Duo prices aren't too bad. You can get 8GB for 39$.
- inactive, on 04/29/2009, -0/+5It never ends, this *****.
- inactive, on 04/29/2009, -3/+7I'm sure I said dishwasher, try reading it again.
- BraveQuail, on 04/29/2009, -0/+4Bacon
- Philbert, on 04/30/2009, -2/+6The ones that show me awesome games like Wipeout Pure and God of War apparently.
- mywhitenoise, on 04/29/2009, -3/+7I for 1 am glad I bought my PSP last year, so that I can hack it.
- deweyhewson, on 04/29/2009, -1/+5Meet the favorite business model for every media company that has moved even slightly to digital distribution or new formats.
