- piper999, on 10/12/2007, -5/+91Dugg for the title alone.
- alivenumber5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+52I prefer to sit down when I GoW. But whenever I have to Wii, I take this guy's advice.
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29lol, I sit down when playing zelda, CoD 3 or excitetruck. But wii sports is usually done standing.
- ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27Some of the girls in that Flickr photo set can play with my Wii anytime they want, standing, sitting, or otherwise.
- spyd4r, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21Wiitarded?
- chosenken, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17That t-shirt looks awesome. Would def. buy it.
- plastek, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13This is so great! It frustrates me when you're trying to play a game of golf, and the person you're playing with keeps sitting down. Previous to seeing this shirt, I would make comments about how real men stand up to play, but I never thought of adding Wii in there. Very clever.
- destructoid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I see your Wii shirt and raise you by one:

Throw it up there, and have a bunch made. I would personally buy it, and I'm betting a lot of other people would too. - Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Don't be a toolbox. Stand up and play the game.
Also, from a design point-of-view, the font should be the Wii font (Continuum Bold) and in Wii gray. - cisox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6felchdonkey beat me to it, but here it is anyway.
Here is a link to the comic in case any of you are not familiar with it: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/11/13 . I personally believe this comic is calling you a toolbox if you play sitting down. When it says, "You can play that way." it is referring to the previous caption that says, "Technically, only small movements of the remote are actually necessary." I can tell you are not an avid reader because your previous posted speculated that the authors of Penny Arcade are "scared to death that they'll be judged negatively by their peers if they show any enthusiasm in anything." which if you had read more then a handful of strips, you would know this statement to be something of the exact opposite of the truth. I'm not trying to come off as a Penny Arcade fanboy, but I think you should probably familiarize yourself with Penny Arcade before you start making generalizations. I agree with you that the Wii should be played standing up in certain games because not only is it easier to play, but it is also a good exercise. - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Read the news on the day they did the comic - the comic was saying you're a toolbox if you play it sitting down: http://www.penny-arcade.com/2006/11/13
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Would not get your tshirt.
- dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah, everyone should go topless...
Except for me. I know what I look like with a shirt off, you ain't missin' much. - z00k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://www.jinx.com/scripts/idea_submission.asp?cf=leftmenu

Just a thought. - blakeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The typography is so bland.
- insomniac8400, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6The problem would be the name Wii, I doubt you can put it on a T-Shirt without paying nintendo.
- richardpotato, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6The collar on that guy’s shirt is definitely popped.
- spjmm0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5being a fat person I loved the idea of the Wii games with standing up and moving;even though in the past I commented I hated all the posts about it
- Crashwithuhk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Not really. Maybe if this was specific to Wii sports you would be right but theres no reason at all to play games like Excite Truck, CoD3, or Zelda standing up. None of the controls in those games call for it.
- Kire56, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3someone should make a larger image so that we can use iron on transfers
- AdverseEntropy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It truly depends on the game. A game like Wii Sports really needs to be played standing up, but games like TP or Red Steel are perfectly acceptable sitting down, as there really is no need to be standing. Not to mention the fact that holding the arm up gets tiring quickly.
- Carteelith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Even more of a reason to get it. Super ironic.
They aren't saying that wheelchair bound people are wimps for not standing, just the people that can and get tired. - shosterman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6wrong post
- RocketSeason, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The "Real Women Wii Stand Up" shirt would be funnier than the mens version
- rednukleus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3thanks both of you :) I retract my statement
- Linh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2cool concept, but a better more refined version is needed.
- smd31, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@DarkPhoen1x
Amen...I mostly play while sitting down but there are sometimes when I do stand up...don't see what the big deal is. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3while we're at it, lets sell it at hottopic with the rest of the unfunny text-only tshirts, it'd be right at home
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4LOL DID U GET THE JOKE?? HE IS REFERRING TO THE WII AS A PENIS!!
- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Kottke gets an instant "this is lame".
- DarkPhoen1x, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yeah, the shirt is funny, but I have a new idea: How about people stfu and let everyone play the way they want to. The point of the Wii (and any system) is to have fun. If you have more fun sitting on the couch, then by all means do so.
- AdverseEntropy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not a bad idea, but unfortunately Threadless does not accept shirts with copyrighted material and/or (with the exception of their type tees) lines.
- acr2001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3There was no way to copyright that and start selling t-shirts before you posted it on digg? I can see some nice income there.
- devo6273, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@eridius Nowadays I think he probably could have this made himself with places like Cafepress. Sure they take a cut of the profits but at least he'd be getting something per sale.
- chubbstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i knew it. JEALOUS.
- driftwood07, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://magic-cone.com/
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2No, Kottke.
- Asvetic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What is up with that silhouette? Is that a dude with a bun in his hair? Did an environmentalist forest ranger pose for this?
The typography IS bland. - insomniac8400, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Looks way too much like an ipod ad.
- LynchMOB, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3sofa king wii tard ed
I like the shirt... and I agree, you need to stand for WiiSports. - xhan104, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1now, I'm sorry, not being cruel to nintendo, but not everyone can stand up. Something has to be said for the fact that sometimes its nice, to sit down with a controller and play a game, not everyone is always in the mood to jump around and wave your arms about. (as fun as it may be)
- eridius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@VeganG
"$500? Anyone who sells an idea for 500 bucks for someone else to make much more money off of, is an idiot."
You're an idiot for selling an idea you have, but can't realize yourself, to someone who can realize it? It nets you $500 you wouldn't have had otherwise. Just because they make profit off of it doesn't mean you're an idiot. In fact, they'd be royally stupid to buy your idea for $500 if they *weren't* going to make a profit.
Unless you're prepared to start mass-producing quality shirts yourself, you're not an idiot for selling your shirt idea to someone who can. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1classic title :D

- filefly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hey people...
I'm in a wheelchair. I don't do that whole "standing up" thing. Do I have a Wii? No, I'm a poor college student. Do I want a Wii? Damn straight. Can it still be fun to play while sitting? Of course. Get over it. - cepiloth, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1real men indeed~
