- somesthetic, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12this ***** is way too premature.
- IClavdivs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Wow, I'm a total Nintendo fanboy, and even I think that article was pretty biased.
- noneroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The PSP vs DS is really the Wii VS PS3 debate. Which do users really want? Do they want better graphics, a nice screen, and something that is multifunction or do they want an innovative style of game play and a completely different approach to gaming.
Sony isn't really WRONG to think that people want 'louder, faster, prettier', but they are too big of a company to challenge conventional wisdom and to think of something different. Nintendo's 'leap of faith' with the Wii isn't really so much so when you consider the amazing success of the DS. People want a new style of game play and will flock to it if given the chance. It's not that the PS3 and PSP are *BAD* systems, they are just too much of the same... - phpirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The picture on the 4th page was the best. Apparently there are people so addicted to the PSP they can't even put it down to take a bath.
- Mystikal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yes...lets lay the PSP to rest. Lets just screw over the whole PSP + PS3 connectivity. Cuz hell, who likes to use their PSP as a rear view mirror in F1? I sure as hell dont.
*bows down to DS*
Come on. PSP wont be dead anytime soon...screw the DS. The PSP is even getting a frickin PS1 emulator. I know a few thousand people who want that.
PSP FTW! - robwolf100, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The sound on all the movies was so low. In a nosie airplane I could not even here the voices.
- NeoTechni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Use headphones
- robwolf100, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I Love the Mulitimedia ability that my PSP offers but if it wasn't for my hand grip accessory I would of never kept it in the first place. It hurts my hands if I were to play without them.
- RanmaChan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Two Words: Loco Roco.
Locoroco is simply the best portable game I've ever played, and it is probably in my top 10 of all time. The soundtrack is better than Katamari or any Final Fantasy (except maybe VII), the game is as fun as I remember Super Mario being when it first came over here when I was 9. And every level is packed with zazy Mui Mui Loco Roco Fun.
Loco Roco comes out in America in two months, and I bet at least some people will consider this the killer app.
Also, it makes a great Super Nintendo/Game Boy Emulator, so I can play Zelda 1-4 and Metroid 1-3 on the go, or at home with the ability to easily pause when my kid starts crying.
I also have a DS, and given the choice... currently I would pick PSP just for Loco Roco and Katamari! - joevill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm glad I did not rush to purchase the PSP. At first I regret purchasing the Nintendo DS when it first came out because of lack of software.
- Weenis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I decided I wanted a handlheld earleir this year. So I borrowed a friends' kids(I know, how lame am I?) PSP and basically experienced the same frustration as everyone with teh slow load times and watered down console ports. Then another friend bought a new DS lite. I played with it for a just a few days and could easily see how superior it was. I went out and bought a DS Lite days later.
- jizzle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1The PSP was great for it's attempt at converging various forms of entertainment into one device, but it does all of them poorly. Games are mediocre at best with a few exceptions like Lumines and GTA. It's absolutely useless as a music player. It's only worth playing movies if you buy a large memory stick and extended battery and convert your own movies down to it - UMD is a joke not even worth laughing at. I give Sony respect for trying to bring together all my favorite forms of entertainment into one device, but the thing just doesn't mean much to me other than a great portable emulator. Their efforts to stop homebrew developers are silly - their games aren't worth pirating.
- dpogni, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3why has sony been screwing up so much. all they needed to do was give the psp a little more attention in the past year and they would have had a much bigger hit.
umd movies were a joke for the price they were going for
and ps3... it seems like it shouldn't even be mentioned..
please sony, keep this alive!!!! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4marked as lame. PSP isn't doing bad at all for branching into a market for the first time that nintendo has had a stronghold on since forever.
