IMO, most of the people complaining are bad at games, and these terms remind them of what happens when they connect to a server.
I'm 25, and when I "own" someone in an fps, (and it isn't just some random noob) I usually proclaim my dominance with one of the above terms. If you don't play fps, then stfu about it.
