- Billiam627, on 10/12/2007, -0/+30What exactly was the point of faking that picture? I mean, it wasn't THAT cool to begin with.
- hipnerd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24You could be that accurate with a slingshot, or if you were inside the building punching out the panes -- so it wasn't completely implausible. I've seen guerrilla art on abandoned buildings before.
@Didn'tYouHear: Don't feel too bad for the owner. The building is scheduled for demolition, didn't you hear? - livejamie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18breaking gaming news!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Something on digg turned out to be fake? Never!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Oldest Quote ever.
- jcapogna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Perhaps these pictured are photoshopped and the tetris pictures were real.
*puts on tin-foil hat* - spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Unless the proof it's fake was faked, I blame the Illuminati
- Godlesswanderer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I thought these were fake when I first saw them. No way someone could be that accurate with throwing ***** at windows.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah. I can't figure out why the guy who took it lied when confronted about it. Who cares if it's photoshopped? It's still pretty amusing.
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4There's really only one window that has a real tetromino shape. The rest are completely random and the square ones are just that way because the window is open.
- CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I guess it would be impossible to break into the building and punch the windows out from the inside?
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3A few shots from a high caliber pellet gun (.22) will take most windows completely out... could do it that way too.
- Salgat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4quite literally!
- Sentry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Now they need to just get a BB gun and go shoot those windows out to make it match because I for one thought this was cool when I first saw it damn you photoshop
- DidntYouHear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Unfortunately for the building's owner, I'll bet someone tries to "fix" the situation with a few well placed rocks.
- haveacigar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Bah... now im going to have to do it..
- cmckinla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2to _prove_ that it was _probably_ faked .... ?
- woogley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3the only thing more pathetic than faking the picture is going to investigate it yourself
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's good that bloggers are putting boots on the ground to actually verify as many facts as possible, but why do they have to pick such inconsequential facts to verify?
- miggz06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1One question: Why is it considered vandalism if the building is meant to be demolished in the first place?
- wiii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, thought about that, too. Would be nice to have a story on front page, with proof that the proof is fake.
Most people won't see the building in reality, so this can go on forever.. - pbaehr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The mural on the side of that building is pretty lame. I'm glad it's being demolished.
http://kotaku.com/photogallery/tetrisbuilding/843650 - shiftless, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Why do we need 'proof' of something like this? It was a joke...
- tmpoirier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I work near that building. I'm actually surprised that they haven't torn it down sooner, I think it's been empty for years. and yes, the mural is ugly. It was for the Colorado Ballet 2-3 years ago.
- SmittyJ783, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I knew it was fake as soon as I saw it. Easily photoshopable.
- mk32066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does it really matter if it is fake?
- endtime, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2It was a joke from the beginning...it's sad that an article this idiotic got dugg to the front page.
- Wonotch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Hardly. The guy who took it tried to argue that it was real in the Kotaku comments TWICE until he finally admitted it was fake.
Sad. - Wonotch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Not according to the guy who "took" the photo. Read the comments.
- idigital, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh, so *now* it's clearly fake, but when the story appeared anyone who said it was fake was dugg down. Well half of you are faking your assertions that you knew it was fake at the time! Aha!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Where is this building? I'll turn this fake vandalism into reality.
- whamdanglers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1My question is, why would they demolish such a gorgeous building? To me, that screams everything land developers are about these days. This building has some great architecture going on here and should be restored back into a thing of beauty, rather than torn down so they can tilt up another thoughtless building, absent of any true design or personality.
In Southern California, where I live, that seems to be all our cities ever want to do. See something that's old and unused? Tear it down, and tilt up a Starbucks. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0...that building looks like crap to me. Probably has a screwed up foundation and is a fire and earthquake hazard now. It would take much more money to restore than to just tear down.
I for one like Starbucks. Any time I want a mocha I know I can find a Starbucks within 3 minutes by walking in any direction. Here in San Francisco we have two Starbucks right across the street from each other. You don't even have to walk across the street anymore. Now THAT is convenience. - daridave, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1yeah, same here.
I never belived they were real. I actually had this feeling I saw that before on an actual, real Tetris pub. - dlm85, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2In Soviet Russa, Tetris plays you.
