- mykos, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41It makes it harder for people to think you are a hot babe and they'll stop giving you free stuff.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -6/+32it's not like you HAVE to go into other people's houses. I don't see how this could turn into a myspace.
- robdickinson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27There is no 'Server', only lobies limited to 64 people max. As is your 'home' (and limited to your friends).
- qazyhoods, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25It amazes me that people communicate with text in Home, just get a microphone! they're not that expensive!
- LordofChaosIori, on 10/12/2007, -5/+25Since when do you HAVE to go to other people's profiles on myspace? That's not what makes myspace bad, it's the annoying kids who think they're the ***** that make myspace bad, that and poor design choices.
- nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -21/+40there's going to be more than one server so there's no overpopulation, so really nothing to work about. And if you don't think Home is awesome, you're an idiot.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+32"There's no place like Home" - I'm really looking forward to this addition to the Playstation Network
- wolfboyZ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18They really need to add a Run feature.
- mykos, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23If you can't be a boulder-breasted furry and make giant pink penises fly out of you, it's nowhere near the quality of Second Life.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18"This is SO original and has been done before"
... read that back to yourself - MrDash001, on 10/12/2007, -14/+27Not to sound like a fanboy, but xbox live has nothing on this.
- topbravo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14you get to choose who you see via friends list ergo if you have no 14 year old annoying kids on your list you will not have the problem.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16It wasn't tapping, it was fapping.
- Artifez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11He didn't say 'DAWG!" so it couldn't be him.
- jacksons98, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18It's main purpose it to be a place where you can meet new friends and launch multiplayer games. As a additional perk you will also be able do other things like show off your awards, music, videos, and "home" You'll also be able to play mini-games etc.
- Abno, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12September, with an open beta in august.
- womfalcs7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I really hope I can get into the second phase of beta testing.
- knowitman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I guess you aren't patient enough to wait a few months for Lair, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ratched and Clank, Drakes Fortune, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, or Gran Turismo 5. If you can't wait then there is Motorstorm, Resistance, Oblivion, Ridge Racer 7, Calling All Cars, or maybe even your entire PS1 and PS2 collection. I guess that the PS3 doesn't have any games.
- TheDrunkMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10There is a direct menu. That is what the virtual PSP is.
- silverwolfe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13I love how well the video was streaming and how fluid all the animations look. Very clear and cool looking.
- hassanchop13, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15and why would that bother you? i have no problem with myspace because i can just avoid it if i dont want to see it.
- gecko111, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14When is home set to launch? The PS3 is looking more and more appealing every day.
- RHEEK, on 10/12/2007, -14/+21I don't get what the big deal of this is... It didn't look that fun. You walk around ever so slowly and play arcade games?
- thatsmyaibo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I'm sure it will, or even a direct menu. Nobody is dumb enough to develop this in a way that would cause frustration. I'm pretty sure Home is a good cross between for and function.
- jacksons98, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Well if you don't want to play or meet with friends online then it's probably not for you and nobody is forcing you to use it. Personally I think online gaming is where its at, the hard part about it is finding cool people to actually play with. I think home is a big step in facilitating that.
- demodawid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I can confirm it's Italian.
- cpthector, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Don't know, where have you seen it before? For someone who's not a Sony hater you do seem to have a very personal stake in this.
- lepton, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4You can walk from place to place but there is a menu to go places directly as well, so I hear.
- mustard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5why apologise? It's like Marmite. Basically awesome, but some people just don't like it.
- bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -9/+13How can you say someone's an idiot for not liking this?
It's a cool enough idea, just not for everyone. I don't see the draw of running around to get your online content and such. - hyperden, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11Man, the narrator for this video sounds a lot like the same dumb ass that released a bunch of lame ass Halo 3 beta videos. Then again I could be wrong.
- MoDinero, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9What's with the annoying tapping sound?
- mustard, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5You can see people say 'your a moron' a million times, and it never stops being funny.
- cthellis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Around the same time as Little Big Planet. Mmm...
- lepton, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4It's kind of a glittery, beautiful Hotel California. You have your lovely room with the lovely view and the lovely patio you can't go out on, the beautiful hotel lobby, the super-clean bowling alley and pool table area, and the gumless movie theater that only plays coming attractions. SO FAR...
It's not a game or much of an amusement park, but it is a chat and meetup place. I think it is a kind of a virtual 3D home page. I'd like to have my PS3 start up and return to it as opposed to the crossbar. They should do that and let you see and launch your media and games from within it. I imagine that's the plan, and it will be cool. - roxya, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Yeah, people are paying $600 just for Home. Like they paid $600 just for Resistance. Like MGS4 isn't worth $600.....zzzzzzzzzz. Silly boy.
- cthellis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4The statement "it's just like that mii crap" makes me think that you simultaneously have no idea what Home is, and that you don't know what Miis are, either.
- thatsmyaibo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Everything in the gaming world is a gimmick at first. The Wii is a gimmick. But it doesn't mean it won't be fun. I think this is a great idea.
- zetsurin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3"ooh make friends and do *****"
No, it's HAVE friends and do *****. If you don't have any friends then the whole multiplayer thing must go way over your head. - Qwiggalo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Seriously.
- xTRUMANx, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9it bothers him cause he's not part of the annoying kid click. don't worry dude, things will get better after high school. if you're incredibly lame, perhaps after college.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2How do you know its not a He-man reference
- fallenone05, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1In myspace ppl bitch about how horrible certain ppl's websites are designed, in home they'll bitch about the poor taste in furniture ppl have.
- Artifez, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5It sounded like Portugese (Brazil)
- Artifez, on 10/12/2007, -10/+10Looks like Second Life but prettier, I didn't see anything that would make me excited about it. I think it looks like a lobby, essentially.
- xBBx, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I believe it's either spanish or portugese
- flashingcurser, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1We can only hope for a developers kit, so people can get creative. Account restricted areas for children's accounts. Second life with great gaming and movies. Speaking of MMORPG's: Why doesn't sony just port vangaurd or everquest 2 to the ps3? They could even sell it with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
You know what would be really cool, if your characters from vangaurd/eq1/eq2 could populate "home". - testdrivemedia, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Holy ***** thats cool! I think it's more of a novelty though, and may get boring over time... but it's still cool.
I love my x360 though, but I still like some 'eye candy' - Yokai, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Its like the Sims mixed with personal options and allows you to do many social activities besides just texting and talking to one another. It is good for Sony to do this because it is much more appealing to the people who don't just want to game all of the time. However, for people like me, its nice but I won't really use it much.
That being said, Good move for once Sony! Now only if you can get the walking animation and speed to not suck major balls. - topbravo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I would have down vote you because of the whole crying thing but the Hot Fuzz reference made it ooooooootay!
