- Fenster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice Bede..IM..."Stay, awhile....Stay, forever!!!" played that game for a long, long time before I ever really new what it was about.....for some reason a lot of my C64 games did not have instruction booklets.....
- mcgirt, on 10/30/2007, -0/+1That's doubtful. Copyright is life + 75 years
- jingles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This would be cool if any of the Boulderdash games actually worked they don't :( Has anyone got Boulderdash to work?
- Fenster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How about a race on IO or TRITON or Venus....? Racing Destruction Set was way ahead of the curve. Create your own tracks with multiple surfaces and set your own gravity......
How about Karateka? Lost too many joysticks to Summer and Winter Games.....good times. - bemenaker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They have my second favorite C64 game, Beach Head, but they don't have the game that was THE reason I bought my C64, Raid Over Moscow.
- h198x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What?! No Summer Games? Bah!

+digg - Fenster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow....that really brought back some memories....but no Racing Destruction Set....how about Raid on Bungeling Bay....
great stuff. - anjinash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Two words: Space Taxi!
Ah, the joys of a misspent youth :) - booch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks like it's a Java-based emulator. Unfortunately, it seems to kill my Firefox (Windows) for some reason.
- Conwaysb0718, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did anyone get Archon to work right? if so, what are the keys?
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can anyone explain the reason for the striking similarities between Giana Sisters and Super Mario Brothers?
- Merlinox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Uff... I've tried more games, but in all I haven't found fire button on my keyboard :(
Help me please: I want play like when I had 8 years... - linker3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ohmygod - the Commodore 64 was my first purchased computer, although I had used a UK101, VIC 20, Commdore Pet and helped work with a prototype system that became the BBC micro. I actually wrote a map editor for Boulder Dash. I also wrote one of the first VT100 compatible comms programs for the C64 in 6502 assembly language - with the major claim to fame that with its deft buffering you could actually receive comms in from the serial port AND print simultaneously. If you're 'into' C64s you'll appreciate what an achievement that was!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0fire key seems to be space or control key for most games. For archon, I pressed q to start the game.
- SystemRocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Classical Games Rocks. Theres nuthin better
- sweetyn, on 01/13/2009, -0/+0hi, i'm just a new user & i tried 2 play Boulderdash, but it doesn't work :( it seems like it's a demo or something...

thx in advance :) - ICS4S, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Um I think these all went into public YEARS ago
- Satanshollow, on 08/13/2009, -0/+0Man oh' man! Where are all the friggen classics? Swiss family Robinson? Jump Man? Ninja? Summer games? Indiana Jones? AND FOR F SAKES....... SATAN'S HOLLOW! Man I used to get spooked out playin' that game! Haha oh to be a kid again.
- hordak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0C64 Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- retroman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just can't get enough of Giana Sisters - must be the greatest game of all times :-)
- TechSamurai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is great! Thanks!
- liquidedge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I guess I just didn't love my C64 enough. All of this just reminds me how much those games sucked.
- shade73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0where is dragon's liar for the c64??
- orb_nsc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ah, the good old days. When a games box art was always much more imaginative and detailed than what was in the game itself. A lot of classics on this site!
- Camper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have this emulator for C64 on my Mac.
http://www.infinite-loop.at/Power64/
It is the best 64 emulator out there. I am currently trying to make a XM1541 cable so I can rescue my old C64 floppies. But there are tons of disk images out there.
Way cool on the browser emulator. I digg. - JingJang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Below the Root and Ultima 5 !! Gotta get them added.
I have an emulator but this is great since you can play from anywhere. I wish they'd do some sort of release like the new Atari with tons of games built in - there are tons of us that played and loved the C64. The creativity in these games was terrific - they were establishing genres.
Paradroid is great, so is Rags to Riches and Bruce Lee.
Thanks!! +Dugg - Argentice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Andrew Braybrook & Tony Crowther = Gods!
Where are they now? - NJank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ghostbusters, paperboy, and blue max... the best
- bede, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wot? No 'Impossible Mission'?
Dugg anyway, just for Paradroid - Skrolnik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Argh. Digg munged my post. The IIGS Explorer is at:
http://portune.dnsalias.net/gs/
And it's got the 16-Bit IIGS software and the older 8-bit general Apple II stuff. - BitHammer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too bad about Impossible Mission. That was a classic game.
I remember getting Bruce Lee for my birthday one year and was carrying it in one hand and a refrigerator magnet in the other on the way to my friend's to share my new bday present. I soon learned why diskettes were labeled "magnetic". Its been 15 years and I can finally play it! - Omicron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what? no C64 strip poker? mmmmmm.... pixelated boobies...... me and my friend thought we were big pimpin playin strip poker on my C64
- yukevster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Are these games accurate??
They don't quite look right.....or is my memory of them more rosy??
BTW Good to see Digg users not just a group of post pubescent teens. - jnorris441, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No Maniac Mansion?????
- GoFlyaKite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A Gem of a find! Thanks!
+Digg - jased, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Argentice - Andrew Braybrook at least is still programming - last time I googled him. Also you can read his diaries online from ZZap64 for the making of Paradroid.
Actually for anyone it's still a cool read as he dealt with storage limitations that in today's 300gig hard drives seem beyond comphrension - FoxHunter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is great!!! Thanks submitter, this totally made my day.
*grin* - Noloco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0:( No Poker Sam
Lets play poker...Hahaha - concept10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I remember having to wait 30 mins for Bruce Lee to load from my tape drive back in 1985 before I got the 1541 disk drive. Those were the days.
- joel2600, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0there is a cheat code for ghostbusters that will give you a bunch of cash so you can really get into the game.... i don't remember what the username or whatever you had to enter was, but i'm sure it's easily found on google.
- kevinnn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice :D
Even the ARNM cheat works on Gianna Sisters! - shooz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you're having trouble on linux, but have java installed, just try:
appletviewer http://c64s.com/game/406/blue_max/ - GreenSlabOfClay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dam I missed comment # 64.
Anyone remember Bruce Lee? - Robinh66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What, no Bard's Tale?
