Sleep ye not in the dark, lest ye be eaten by a Grue. - negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Are there any screenshots?
- kalisphoenix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Thanks to the miracle of fiberoptic cameras, I am able to watch women and the Sci Fi channel at the same time.
- forumreader, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8insert snappy reference about being eaten by a grue.
- kalisphoenix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@CharlesDarwin: People will be greatly divided regarding your post, but will vent their frustration on my post.
I love it when my Digg posts sound like fortune cookies. - bryant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I hope to god that was sarcastic...

They're going to be posting a public beta number in a couple weeks. - AwesomeMonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This wont seem odd... get flask(damn), take flask(damn), pick up flask(finaly), equip flask (damn)...
- RT55J, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I actually tried to decide which of the three versions to post. The Zasterisk site is direct, but Boing Boing did the best job of summarizing it. Make Blog just kind of pointed...
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow. From here to Boing Boing to Make Blog to the actual thing. I like both Boing Boing and make Blog, but come on.
Direct link: http://uc.org/read/Zasterisk - willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3lol, reading the comments shows the age of the digg'rs.
- ChewbaccaUC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This idea would work better with the game Planetfall, I would think...
- willcode4beer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can't help but wonder if we'll get all of those old C64 text games by phone now
- crythias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Too bad it's not "You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike." xyzzy, plugh

I can digg it! - CharlesDarwin, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9@TheComputerMutt
People will Digg you down just for the hell of it. - nitroskanker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I do both at the same time.
- mddleNameIsEarl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My roommate scripted together something similar a while back so that his chat client was directly piping its output to and from Zork. So when you chatted to him over AIM, you said fun things like "walk north" and "look", and it returned the appropriate responses. It could only keep track of one game at a time, of course- so you had to hope no one else chatted to him simultaneously. It seemed easy enough that I bet it'd been done many times before.
- mycatsboots, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does anyone else remember Return to Zork and the damn forest that you had to drink milk in?
It took me about 3 months to figure out you had to drink a glass of milk before you went in, then go back to the cow lady and get 2 more, then you could go back to the forest. - robertgoodwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1xyzzy
- Grandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've always thought it would be cool if someone made a mod of the original Zork using a modern game engine (maybe Oblivion's). Of course not many people would actually get what it was referencing, but still...
- safer9999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just what I want to do is relive the computer college lab days, on my telephone.
Neal Saferstein - staffell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i hate soccer games
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Think about what web site you are posting this on. This is a site that would rather watch the Sci Fi Channel than be with a woman.
- kalisphoenix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Or the graphical ones, for that matter. Just imagine how fun Karate Champ would be.
.... probably roughly as fun as Zork over a phone. - kalisphoenix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Such language in a high-class establishment like this!
*waits patiently for someone, anyone, to get it* - MarcasBakers, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Is it related to the video game Zork : Nemesis which was using some awsome 3d graphics :o (in the 1990s~)
- nars, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i heard that site pirates soccer games =/
- justice7, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2digg for by far the nerdiest post ever on this site
seriously... you must be one lonely guy if you have to use your phone to play zork... no one to talk to? - rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4"…marvel as you explore this world with your dial pad, unlocking the secrets within!"
there is an "L" on your forehead, dude. - KevinJ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Wheere can I play this...does anyone have asterick installed on a multiline 1800 # that can install this for me to people to play on? Cuz the idea is cool...BUT I WANNA PLAY!

$echo "***** piss bob saget" > /dev/speech - EvilTesdall, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2@emaze the tone at which i read that, made me laugh...thank you ^_^
- EvilTesdall, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1ROFL, my dad used to love Zork and we also bought Return to Zork. It was never really fun to me.
- Emaze, on 10/12/2007, -20/+5digg me down....irrelevant comment.
- TheComputerMutt, on 10/12/2007, -27/+2People will Digg you up just for the hell of it.
