It's like asking why I play Oblivion instead of going out and slaying beasts in real life, or why I play Madden instead of signing up for the NFL draft. One's a game, one's real life, and there's not some kind of mutual exclusion between the two.

    Because they think they have some insight that no one else has grasped. Either that or they really think they're cool for playing a real guitar (rarely does anyone say that they're actually good at playing it). Personally, I like both. I'm not ashamed to admit it was Metallica (Four Horsemen in particular) that inspired me to learn to play real guitar... if anything, a round of GH:M just psychs me up to go play the real songs later.

It's the same way people make fun of others for paying $90 for Wii ***** Fit. It's totally unnecesarry to spend that much money, when you could just buy a workout DVD.
    Trust me dude, I've spent many hours on Rock Band, and bought both Special edition packs for RB1, and RB2...and I sort of regret how much money I've spent so much money and time on it, when I could have spent all that time learning my real Telecaster.

The RB guitars are an improvment over the GH ones...so as long as it's the same button style...I dont care in the slightest. I had contemplated making a new body from a gamestop trade in guitar out of some cheap wood...but then I realized that I don't care all that much and went back to shooting ***** in other games.
