    The Wii i'll admit look fun but it won't have the games i want to play on it so i pass on it.

    If i want to mock playing golf, football , tennis or whatever i'll go outside and do the real thing outside the confins of my room!

    If i want the Best shooter, RPG's and grewates Sports games and Fighting games out on the planet pushed by the best graphical; system out their today i will get a Ps3

    If i want to deal with patches and over heating and bad voice over IP and stupid games
    I won;[t need to buy a Xbox 360 i'll just go buy another junk ass PC ! For that headache
    same dif ! Most of the 360 games are out on PC and i can use the 360 bar of soap controller on my PC with limited half assed drivers that mircosft put ouyt on CD of course !

    PS3- Resistance, Co-op was short but fun, online is amazing people are on that PS3 about 15 hrs a day.

    Wii- Wii sports is fun, but Resistance is better, but when someones not on the PS3 theres someone playing Zelda which is crazyfun.

    Both are amazing, personally I have a Wii because its cheap (but so are the graphics :( ), but I will be getting a PS3 when the price falls.


    btw Gears of War is cool too, but 360 isn't mentioned in the article.

    I want a Wii becuase of the simplistic game play Nintendo is amazing at giving you. My computer kicks PS3's and XBOX 360's ass for graphics and power, so why would i spend money on a ***** console that won't be as powerful as my computer, and also providing me with worse game play than my PC?

  • Stevethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4Although I understand this article's humorous approach, I still can't get it why next gen consoles was so much praised for their specs while they weren't anything tremendous. My PC's hardware sophistication smokes any of the three consoles and maybe the three of them at once. Sure I paid some serious money but I got sth a lot more than just playing videogames on medium settings and when I'll buy my new one in about 3 years time renewing its sophistication, my "old" by that time rig won't become to the least obsolete (unlike consoles), as I would make it my multimedia rig or video encoding one, while my new (by that time) rig would be occupied by more serious stuff. Besides paying one month's salary every three years or so is not such pain on the ass since you have a stable job. Consoles on the other hand always seemed to me to be a gimmick.

    Of course this is an opinion and you're welcome to digg me down, but never ever believe that this kind of view is not well thought.

Consoles offer a completely level playing field in terms of technology (unless your internet sux) whereas in terms of computers, someone's duct-tape spit and prayers computer is running CS at 5.0 FPS and is getting ownt.

      Reason 2: I don't play computer on my couch.
      Reason 2a: Your friends can't play computer games with you on your couch w/o every one of them dragging over a computer, ethernet cords, and a router. I doubt you'll be on the couch anyway.

      also, upgrading a console every 4-5 years: $200-400 (give or take), pc is more like $500-1000

Sure consoles are cheap compared to PCs, but there is no reason for such a hype for their hardware, they 're not THAT powerfull, you get what you pay. I mean how are they called next gen while the best they can do is illustrating 2006's graphics? I saw FarCry graphics the other day on the Wii and those were worse than what the original FarCry circa 2004 was able to do, of course this is the Wii and can't have high expectation graphics-wise, but -still- those are 3-years-behind graphics, which ic close to a century when we are talking about technology amd most importantly graphics technology. Oblivion is another example, while great on X360 it is no match to the PC version both graphics AND performance wise, my PC never gets anything lower that 50fps while eveything is maxed (contrarily with 360's 25-35FPS and Med-High graphics) and the interesting part is that this the rule not the exception, it happened to the previous gen, it will happen to the next gen too.

      To summarize .... what I'm trying to tell is not that PCs are a better solution for a casual gamer, but the fact that Consoles are overhyped, sure great pieces of hardware, but pale in comparison with a "concurrent" PC.

  • Budman21901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Neighbor has a 360 and it rocks! I have not seen PS3, but i would imagine it rocks also! The Wii is selling great for one reason. Price!! Christmas time, and parents are looking for that big gift thats affordable. I am getting one for my kids once i find one in stock. It's all about price for me, plus i have read great things about it. I think throwing a HD video card in a system, and then slapping a $400-600 price tag on it is ridiculous. I am pretty content with my xbox, and ghost recon graphics. Don't get me wrong, the graphics on the 360 are killer!, but game play is the same. The Wii is a affordable Christmas gift plus i get to try out this new game play feature. I think everyone needs to wait a year before they figure out the top seller. It's holiday's, and everyone is going for the Wii at the moment including me. I will purchase another when bugs our worked out of the others, and that one exclusive comes out that sucks me in. Game selection is everything to me, and its going to be whoever has the best games.
