- AhrenBa, on 11/19/2008, -9/+179Wtf.....who the hell leaves their console on 24/7???
- slimthps, on 11/19/2008, -10/+178It also does about 20x more than the Wii. I'd say it's a good trade off.
- blackhole82, on 11/19/2008, -12/+124and until more good games come out it will also be played 5X as much as the Wii
- philipz78, on 11/19/2008, -5/+92People who fold@home?
- WhereAmI, on 11/19/2008, -5/+91"Want to save $145 this year? If you play the 2006 version of the Sony PlayStation3, it's as easy as shutting the video game console off when you're not playing a game."
Well no *****. - WhereAmI, on 11/19/2008, -3/+67Those of us that fold know it costs more.
- ProfessorLX, on 11/19/2008, -18/+72and is 10x funner
- JackSchittt, on 11/20/2008, -9/+62You play games on the Wii?
And all I thought you did was shake the controller randomly and watch what happens. - theberlindoctor, on 11/19/2008, -3/+55I can understand leaving an NES on 24/7 simply because you couldnt save in every game back then. Nowadays there's no excuse for it. If your too lazy to finish the last 5 laps of a race in Gran Turismo or something, then ***** you, turn off your console you lazy *****.
- ibenny, on 11/21/2008, -4/+46Yeah, essentially they're comparing a Corvette to a Cavalier.
The Corvette gets worse mpg? Who knew? - hootie233, on 11/21/2008, -4/+36HEY some of us are trying to find the cure for cancer!
- slimthps, on 11/20/2008, -5/+34The Wii has better games? Is that a joke?
- smoothmann, on 11/21/2008, -11/+38Who cares really?
PS3 FTW - jacksons98, on 11/20/2008, -5/+31For more accurate numbers.

I don't think anyone is going to miss $12 over the Wii. - jermm, on 11/21/2008, -3/+298 core cell+ Nvidia RSX+ Hard Drive + fan to cool it all, more power.
SingleCore PPC + ATI "marketing name that I don't remember right now", no Hard Drive, less power. - hsoj, on 11/21/2008, -4/+28Yeah and my electric chainsaw uses 20x the power of my toaster, but can my toaster chop down a ***** tree?
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -1/+25Doesn't cost me a cent. Electricity is included in my rent so it's an all-you-can-eat buffet as far as electricity is concerned. My landlord is contributing to Folding@Home almost 24/7 :)
- Spytap, on 11/21/2008, -0/+21If it didn't have a standby mode, you wouldn't be able to turn it on with the wireless remote. Nothing to receive those signals unless a certain portion of it is on and able to accept them. SO yes, the Xbox does have a standby mode.
- israfel555, on 11/20/2008, -3/+231. "Just a videogame console"
The PS3 was not designed to *solely* be a videogame system. It's Sony's trojan horse into your living room (blu-ray and networked home entertainment center with all of those possibilities).
2. "$200 blu-ray players hurt PS3 sales"
Walmart is/was selling PS3s with a $100 gift card: now how does a standalone blu-ray player look? Bet the Black Friday deals will be pretty sweet too considering that first pricepoint salvo.
My rant:
I own a Wii and a 360 (roomie has a PS3) and I can tell you that the Wii does *not* have better games than the PS3 "by far." The vast majority of games for the Wii are [crappy] ports, don't make effective use of the controls, and are designed for slow children. There are some notable exceptions (No More Heroes, Zelda, and Mario Galaxy), but let's be realistic here: If you say there are "better games by far" for the Wii, then you are living in a plastic bubble with little/no remaining oxygen. Have you seen most of the awful stuff that is out for the Wii? There are only a handful of decent games. It's just sad. Sad. Sad. Sad.
Now I only play Mario Kart on the Wii when friends come over. - pe5t1lence, on 11/21/2008, -4/+24Let me google that for you
http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=How+much+power ... - inactive, on 11/21/2008, -1/+21I agree , i got a wii when it first came out but after a month i realized that wrist controller shaking was getting old and i just wanted a normal controller to play games.
- Dustmuffins, on 11/21/2008, -2/+21I am currently folding my xbox. It has stopped working. There is small shards of plastic everywhere. My little brother is not happy.
- nword, on 11/21/2008, -8/+27Wow, so now I have to use cold water, change all the light bulbs in my house, ride a bike to work AND play a Nintendo Wii to help go green?
How about I help out by not playing my Wii at all since that's what I've done since I bought it.
Waste of money if you ask me, unless you're between the ages of 5-10...
PC > PS3 > everything else. - apena89, on 11/20/2008, -20/+38do you live under a rock? there's more than enough good games at the moment to be played 20x more than the Wii.
- faizal5k, on 11/21/2008, -4/+22more fun*
- javness, on 11/21/2008, -2/+19worth every ounce of energy to play MGS4
- iRoy, on 11/21/2008, -9/+26And it's 10x as fun.
- mbraynard, on 11/21/2008, -3/+18My wii has no cost to operate.
Except for fat chicks. They have to pay. - xSpittyx, on 11/21/2008, -5/+20This is like saying a toaster costs more to run than an oven.
But i mean sure, a toaster can toast bread..but an oven can cook a hell of a lot more. - inactive, on 11/21/2008, -4/+18Wii has better games?
LMFAO. Nice one man. Best laugh I've had all day. - mrinsanity, on 11/21/2008, -1/+15I keep my ps3 plugged in an "turned on" all the time, but usually that means it's just in standby mode, which according to my kill-a-watt is drawing less that 1 watt. If you leave your ps3 ON (as in "ON" on) and you're not gaming or folding, then you are teh sucks.
- inactive, on 11/20/2008, -3/+16Thanks for the reminder - left the ps3 on last night.
- cowsgonemadd3, on 11/21/2008, -3/+15Funion

- TyrannousDotNet, on 11/21/2008, -5/+17Tell me later im playing a game.
- bushisadumbass, on 11/21/2008, -4/+16Better games? This is a joke right?
As a former Wii owner, I sold it because the games were for kids and the graphics sucked ass. I'm now a PS3 owner (I got the metal gear 4 bundle which is ps2 backwards compatible) and I could not be happier with the game selections.
Resistance 1 and 2 are just two games that are amazing on the PS3. Can't wait for Resident Evil 5 and Killzone 2. - TypeEE, on 11/21/2008, -0/+11Do you mean the other way around? an oven costs more to run than a toaster.
- ConsolesSuck, on 11/21/2008, -1/+12...or buy a 500gb hard drive for your PS3
- StratoStreak, on 11/21/2008, -2/+12With the newest software update, the ps3 goes into standby after being idle for a certain amount of time.
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -2/+12What, you mean my Mario Kart isn't supposed to just veer off into the pond like that?
- fuse13, on 11/21/2008, -3/+12lol wii fanboyism?
can we not call out some stupid turf war over every ***** article? I dont think The Daily Green are somehow massive Wii fanboys. - jhandfield, on 11/21/2008, -1/+10Can your chainsaw make satisfactory toast?
- IHaveCrayons, on 11/21/2008, -2/+11One day someone will prove you wrong...
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -4/+13Cost 5x more, but is over 9000 times better.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 11/21/2008, -3/+12What, all five of them?
- smoger, on 11/21/2008, -0/+9SpyTap is correct. The Xbox is in standby without you knowing it
- Ch3n3yTh3D1ck, on 11/21/2008, -6/+14it's also 10x more fun so it evens out. what's your point?
- Aguyinachair, on 11/21/2008, -3/+11I think they mean leaving it in standby mode. Which is retarded and an easy way to distort a poll.
- Yareking, on 11/21/2008, -2/+10but it help cancer...
- zaussome, on 11/21/2008, -3/+11It's also 5x better!
