Anyone who has been playing video games for at least the past 5 years has had the conversation once or twice "I cant wait until there is virtual reality" and this is pretty damn close. I own a PS3 and I love it. Granted the games aren't that good yet (Resistance isn't as great as people would make you believe, then again I also have a 360 and played Gears of War for about a half hour before I moved on to something else) but they will come. However I don't see why stuff like this has to put PS3 fan-boys against everyone else. I love the Wii, I want one, I love the PS3 I have one, I love the 360 I have one. When did it stop being about gaming and start being about supporting corporations?

It isn't the fact that there are some PS3s on the shelf, but the fact that you can even find one during the holiday season (arguably the most critical sales period of the year) that surprises me the most. - VeryAngryJim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Do you really need to? I went to Omaha, NE to finish up on some Christmas shopping and decided I'd hit quite a few electronic stores just to check around and see what I could see.
To my surprise the Best Buy on 84th street in Omaha had 3 PS3s on the shelves at about 2 PM Dec. 23 today... I saw 2 Best Buy employees there talking to customers and convinced an older lady she wanted to get it for her grand kids for Christmas because this is THE more sought after item for Christmas, and she took the bait and took off with it. I saw them bait a few more customers this way. Soon there were no more PS3s on the shelves and the employees were telling the buying customers how lucky they were to be able to get this item 2 days before Christmas. 15 minutes later I saw one of the employees come back out and stock 4 more PS3s on the shelves and the baiting started again.
About 3 hours later I was in the Best Buy in Lake Manawa (Council Bluffs, IA). To my surprise I saw a scene very similar to the other best Buy. 2 employees baiting customers with PS3s on the shelves.
Did anyone else happen to go to any Best Buys today and see this happen? I mean, it's sad if you have to actively sell the hardware now to customers 2 days before Christmas.
On a side note, no place I went to had any Nintendo Wii's, and oddly enough, no place had a DS Lite either (which was the item I was really looking for to get my sister). - Zero82z, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11I was at EBGames yesterday and there was literally an entire STACK of PS3s that hadn't been sold. There were at least 10-15 of them. The demo unit wasn't even working, and none of the employees had bothered to fix it since nobody was interested. This is in Montreal, by the way(second-most populated city in Canada). I confirmed with one of the employees that the boxes contained actual units.

- redskull, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The Wal Mart in my town has a homeless man who lives in the back by the dumpster, he has a 20gig PS3 that he uses for a pillow at night. He had a 60 gig system but a seagull flew away with it.
