Petition asking MICROSOFT to extend the warranty period
forums.xbox.com — We the undersign believe that the MICROSOFT CORPORATION needs to revise the current length of warranty on the XBOX360 videogame system. At the present time XBOX360 owners within the United States of America are only protected by a three(3) month warranty period through the manufacturer(Microsoft).An most die after the three months costing 130$ fix!

"Also if you agree with myself and others that MS is wrong in their policy PLEASE, PLEASE file a complaint with the BBB. To file a complaint is free and can be done on-line in a matter of mins."
What does he want them to complain about? Microsoft complying with their published warranty period?

- magaman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The BBB is around to protect us the consumers against companies that put out faulty defective products, like Microsoft has done. Its not a complaint against there policy its a complaint against defffective product.

Once I do so, I am told that the forum topic does not exist. Also, the link that is supposed to point to the petition above does not resolve at all. Is this just me, or did M$ take down the effort to tell them how much we hate them?

Just a note, my 360 recently failed (I purchased in January - had 3 red lights) and Microsoft extended my warranty and repaired it free of charge. I never purchased an additional warranty either. Just whatever came w/ the unit.
