- animator21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The editor abuses the readers who writes letters to the mag and also his own motherland.
- desiTek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3they abuse people on their official forum too.. wat a company
http://www.skoar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2116 - illectronic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"On the morning of 9th March, the forum was cracked into and several threads deleted. The culprit's identity has been traced and he will get his just desserts soon enough (yes, VJ_Lunar, that means you), but that's another story. The forum will be restored to its state as of 15th Dec 2006. That means all postsusers added thereafter will vanish forever. - selfprodigy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Thats awesome.
- Exploit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@VJLunar: I seriously think you should write to the game publishers. This notorious badjag should be brought to book.
- Dhruv, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ya i sa that tooo , shame in the name of indian gamers . If this mag is the prime source to game info for Indian gamer then , god save them . The users on that forum call themselves hardcore gamers (and quote the mag as the best in the world) lol , gamers who read such pathetic magazine can never be hardcore.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1they deserve it tho
- VJLunar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's more to this story than SKOAR is telling anyone. They do indeed pirate games, but they also treat the freelancers who contribute to the magazine entirely as gutter trash. Here's a quick breakdown for those who are out of the loop, since the forum can't be accessed:
* A freelancer for the magazine by the name of Abhinav Rao posted a topic regarding why his Super Smash Brothers Brawl preview for the magazine was chopped up and wasn't properly informed. Basically, he felt used.
* I react and inform him that this isn't the first time freelancers' work have been tampered with, up to the point that the on-staff editors just do whatever it is they feel like. I even say it's one of the reasons why I don't get involved with the magazine itself, knowing that they'll convey a message that I didn't write, but with my name on it. Other freelancers can verify this, I've saved this posts just in case something like this might happen.
* One of the on-staff editors by the name of Aayush Iyer decides to IM moi on Y! Messenger. We talk for a bit, and lays this statement down for me: we're a free country (ie India), so we're allowed to edit articles however we feel and don't think it should be addressed to the person who wrote it. I found that rather douche, I don't know about you. I pasted this convo to Abhinav's thread. Needless to say, he wasn't too happy and neither were some other folks.
* This is were ***** really begins to fly. Badri Narayan aka Badjag, the head-honcho of Skoar magazine, comes online. I decided to check his user activity via his profile, and he's tinkering around in the Admin User CP. Next thing you know it, my account is no longer. BALEETED, if you will. All my contributions to the community, kaput. A close friend and fellow freelancer by the name of Krishnan Rajgopal, practically coded the entire forum and has been the biggest contributor to the entire community and magazine (He's like Kulock, but he's Indian!). He tries to get my account back, but Badjag was already one step ahead of him and temporarily disables his admin powers. That ain't right!
* Badjag procedes to make an announcement thread, titled "Blacklist v.2" or something. I'm the only person listed in the entire topic, naturally. His reason for deleting/banning me was because I pasted a "private conversation" in a thread. He also called me "Deep Throat", which I'm guessing is adult speak for "u r gay lol".
* Krishnan decides to make a thread asking for the Skoar team to provide a valid reason on why they did this. A couple of more people reply to the thread asking for me to come back, going as far to say that I kept the forum activities insightful and "sane".
* Moments later, topics and subforums start vanishing and I'm at the center for blame.
Coincidence would have anyone believe that I was responsible. Then again, coincidence alone doesn't get you arrested! Worst case scenario, they'll have my ISP ban me. Big whoop. If there's actually going to be a huge legal issue over this, I got those DVDs ready to show off. That is, if I'm truly pushed to do that. :`D~ - ChristBehemoth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this seriously sucks. and now, he has just shut down the whole skoar forum. and this Digit guy has closed the thread! this sucks .. seriously does!
- NeoGear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would be one happy person if they sued by the game publisher and then shuts down the pathetic skoar.
- VJLunar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's the topic that started this whole ruckus.

You won't find it on the forums anymore, that much I can assure. Also, this is the version WITHOUT my posts since my account was already deleted before I could save anything of value. Still, you will see two members directly mention me and about the "conversation" that I had pasted - both members can verify that it didn't make them too happy!
But the best post you should read from there is the one from Enoonmai aka Krishnan Rajgopal. He's arguably the biggest contributing freelancer for the magazine, and he clearly mentions the magazine giving him the shaft (so to speak).
And to answer anyone's questions, no I did NOT hack or "crack" into the forums. But you know what, I'm glad the forums took a hit. That much I'll admit to anyone. The SKOAR magazine is completely community driven; those forum people contributed a lot and they get knifed from behind (regarding the issues related to pirating games and editing other people's stuff). Ask for a reason or tease them too much, and you end up like me. To have a tag line that calls them the best Indian Gaming Magazine ever is truly saddening. Good riddance to bad rubbish~ - Arsenal1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As you have the DVDs,it most probably wont brought by skoar! to legal matters.
