- Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10You are incorrect - Sony confirmed that they would have an official PS1 emulator with downloadable games.
- PostedOval, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10What? Have you been to the game store lately?
Daxter, Syphon Filter, Outrun 2006, Me and My Katamari, MegaMan Powered Up are new and receiving EXCELLENT reviews by every major review source.
Come on, do some research before you spout this nonsense. There are over 110 PSP games now, and 40 of them have an average rating of 75% or higher (25 games get over 80%) at MetaCritic.com
http://www.metacritic.com/games/psp/scores/ - gamerzworld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7it is correct. Sony announced that they are making a PS1 emu for the PSP.
- sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9everyone who owns a psp should already know about PSPVideo9 (although a bit buggy still great) !
Stream iTunes PSP Article Was Here http://digg.com/apple/How_to_Stream_iTunes_to_Your_PSP
which links to http://www.SkatterTech.com and he seems to be stealing the image, file, tutorial and credit.
I spent a long time writing that and since he stole my work NO DIGG!
Finally Flash was a great implementation into the PSP, but unfortunately even the simplest games run too slow on the PSP and they must be very small file sizes. Sony should have taken the flash feature further than they have. - ton0485, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Oh, sorry... That's awesome. I have been gone for a week and before I left I read something (On PSP updates I think) That said that the rumor was false. But it is awesome that they are going to do that. Sorry again I should have checked my facts.
- mDot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Outside of supporting community produced homebrew there is nothing Sony can do to persuade me to upgrade my 1.5. As it stands with a PSP with firmware version 1.5 you can literally do anything you wish, so long as you or another member of the community is willing to code up the solution. This ability is limited with 2.0 versions of the firmware and has been cut off altogether with the new 2.7.
In my opinion, Sony should focus on releasing good portable games, introduce a community SDK, and add features, not 'security upgrades' to their firmware. - Nymo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7'Loco Roco' Isn't Really Much Of A 'Homebrew', It's Coming Soon To A UMD..
http://www.locoroco.jp/home/ - AaronTyler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6sounds great but I'm still not updating my PSP...
- nads, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7forgot about megaman :) but postedovals post just proves there ARE good games.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6theres loads of guides on pspupdates...
but for some reason, pspupdates has been banned on digg :( - romis138, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4All the exploits and emulation have probably inflicted so much fear in them that it has dropped the chance of a community SDK to zero, even if they made it so the SDK had limited possibilites in what you could make.
The security upgrades really have made me disappointed with Sony. Homebrew was a really nice thing, and it really made the PSP a very interesting and desirable product for the people who knew the power/potential it really had. I still have 1.5 and I'll never upgrade..
Then again, I never use the thing and have only about two games for it(though I've played many more). No games have really appealed to me yet, though. Maybe the PSX emulation will change that and I'll upgrade..that is, if a PSX emulator for 1.5 isn't released shortly thereafter. Are the games to be completely revamped from the ground up, or is it to be a true blue emulator? - mc1123, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5sweet! I'd love to get mgs on my psp! maybe even ff7!
- nads, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Don't mean to sound stupid but how would the ps1 emulator work? by downloading games from sony?
- thom001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Great site! If for no other reason, it'll keep you from searching the web looking for compatible flash games.
- Jyuu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Loco Roco is so fun to play!
Definitely a must-buy. :D - modulo1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2companies like divineo.com sell replacement screens for the PSP

dugg purely for making it easy to download the awesome loco roco demo
(which i hadn't figured out how to do, my japanese is poor you know)
knew all about everything though, not new news.
now...back to that demo... - BBad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nothing that's really new, but it is cool to have it all in one place. The Loco Roco demo is fun hope they have many more demos in the future, It may help them get more sells I wasn't interested in Loco Roco but now after playing the demo I'm looking forward to the game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow thanks for that iTunes server, it is so cool!
- FrogRacer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12.7 sounds ok but i aint upgrading NO ELOADER!!!!
but still worth a digg - brucebeh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2ok, im stuck at the place with the see-saw kinda thing, where do i go from there? i jump right then i eat some fruits, then im stuck
PS: Right beside each program name is the link to their website, so i did link to the itunes server ;) - firen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Most of these tips are already known. Oh and Loco Roco looks fantastic
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How can you crack your LCD, with the protective cover over it? Did you run it over?

http://www.chasr.org/ - SamboGT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Loco Roco was neat. It's got a real Katamari Damacy-feel to it. (It's even weirder than KD. I didn't think that was possible!)
The iTunes server is also neat. That Flash Site was good, as well. Bow Man was probably one of the best running games available. The Happy Tree Friends cartoons ran decently. Overall, very nice page. PSP Video 9 is very old news, though. I never really liked it. The conversions always came out funny and the audio never matched the video. I use the 3GP converter, instead. - Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Any clue how much the games will be?
- linuxps2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i agree with plue2.. most PSP owners already know how to do this stuff... why not just head over to a site that really shows you how to do stuff.. like psp-hacks i mean come on! homebrew is what makes the PSP great along with the great titles (non of which have been mentioned so far) i mean c'mon, Bleach 2, DJ MAX Portable, Guilty Gear XX Reloaded.. Sure most are imports but arent most great games?
- Jerk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Break apart between the plants.
- zoroaster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I love the idea of streaming itunes, i just wish there was a way to do the same with another media player
- modshark, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1http://www.modshark.com has tons of tutorials, guides and reviews for the Playstation Portable as well =)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Any PSP owner who didnt know that the PSP could play video's or use RSS feeds lives under a rock.
Furthermore, official Sony news is hardly a trick people dont know about, poo poo article to draw blog traffic, not worth a read.
How about the fact that a PSP with hacked homebrew can be used to VNC into your home pc? That's a worthwile tutorial. Video's on the PSP? Come on... - shank2001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Me too... wonder how much it costs to replace the LCD.... probably more than just buying another one ;(
- nads, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Im sure psphacks mentions some software tha will run wma, avi, xvid files withou needed to convert
- CyberSteve, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2soudns sweet...but i cracked my LCD screen :'-(
- vertigoblue, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1that would be sooo awesome when they make ps1 games avalible for the psp, i would have to go out and buy one again. (without selling it on ebay this time) there just wasent enough content when i first bought one...
- RexKwando, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Old news!
- nads, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2I think its more play games everything else is long winded. GTA and Daxter and perhaps prince of persia are the only good games!
- Mystikal, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2I know about those...hehe.
And the flash is version 6...so it sucks ass. - DEFSMAC, on 10/12/2007, -12/+6"PSP - do anything, except play good games."
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4lol, someone is modding down my comment ?
and why ?!
im just letting someone know that sony's ps1 emu might not be the only one out there - baronvonrolo, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Sorry to add to all this, but PSP's are essentially children's toys designed for sitting at the dinner table and playing on between PS2 sittings. I bought one, thinking there's so much you can do with it, but 1) all the homebrew software works .. 1 out of 10 times, and 2) the majority of games out there are cack. If you want to play PS 1 games.. buy a PS 1, they're about £20 on ebay.
(incidentally, I just sold my PSP on ebay, so I have a vague idea of them) - Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Sounds cool, but a PS1 emulator? Who really cares to play PS1 games? They look and perform awful, it's not like they are sprite games from our youth that aren't around anymore. Off the top of my head, only Crash Bandicoot really appeals to me, otherwise I never play my PS1 anymore. (And I'm an old fogey who still plays his Vectrex once in a blue moon.)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3wrong...theres also a homebrew ps1 emulator in the works...
- robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3The best trick would be how to magically turn a PSP into a DS!
- drakethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -17/+6Here's a tip, don't buy one
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -18/+3Tip 5: Your local game dealer can accept your PSP for in-store credit, or even cash! Take it there, along with all your games, and let the friendly store rep take the shiny, overhyped pile of ***** off your hands, once and for all!
(To clarify, I have one, and these are my feelings about it.)
