- pathy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12The first 2.8 Downgrade was from 0okm, these guys make their stuff much safer.
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11This includes TA-082 support, so dont be afraid to use it.
- Zoids, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10WTF?
- ringo380, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This is a godsend. I had just about given up on my ta-082 psp for a while there, and even after the new downgrade was released, there were so many warnings about the possibility of getting bricked that I avoided it. I'll be attempting this the second I get home from work.
- dpcdomino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6So waiting for the 2.81
Metal Gear did not end up being upgrade worthy but, so far, I do not see any game that is upgrade worthy.
I want me some FFTactics and FFVII. PSP screams for good RPGs. Why are they not developing them? - Zoids, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I downgraded using the german easy downgrader a while back.
Dark_AleX and team, and the n00bz team, thank you. - slowmotiony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Playing emulated PSOne titles at a custom firmware called 3.03OE-B
- Zoids, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5With homebrew software you can play most games from most games systems in the past. I regularly play GBA games on my PSP.
Custom firmwares let you play ISOs or CSO games from your memory stick.
There's ***** more. - Wisgary, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4SNES, Genesis, NES emulators alone are worth it. And if you're back-*cough*piracy*cough*-up oriented, you can run ISOs for both PS1 and PSP itself.
- raid517, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4OK call me dumb - but I don't even own a PSP. However I may be intrested for my nephew who does. But what exactly are the advantages of downgrading? What homebrew apps exist for the PSP?
- hellpancho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3downgrading means you can run a variety of homebrew games and applications that can be downloaded for free. There are several very good ones as SnakeSP, PSP Revolution, Beats of Rage.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3waitin for the 3.02 :(
- xelloss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yep same thing happened to me, Updated the day before 2.80 downgrader was released and I knew it was going to happen...
- neckaros, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I bricked my PSP by downgrading with their first downgrader from 2.8 :( so be carefull
- caselogic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2FFVII is awesome to play on the PSP... you just need 3.03 OE
- mr_bako2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2well, its extremely easy to tell if you have a ta-082 motherboard, all you have to do is open the UMD slot, and look some numbers upside down (http://psp.about.com/od/homebrew/ig/TA-082-Motherboard-Tutorial/TA-082-code-photo.htm is a good reference)
I just recently got a PSP, and was stupid enough to update to 3.03 before i looked around the internet to find out about homebrew, i knew of its exhistance, but knew nothing about needing certain firmwares. Silly me... i thought updates were supposed to be good things, my mistake (sarcasm XD)
But the advantage of homebrew is that you can play snes, msx, all gameboys (except ds, that i know of) n64, ps1, and much more! its pretty handy if your PSP is homebrew-able
The day a decent 3.xx downgrader comes out.. ill be there, and if i brick, i dont know what ill do but it will be worth the shot, 3.03 OE-B is my target firmware, unfortunately i cant, but that would be ideal... without a good homebrew firmware or 1.5, PSP is pretty much a brick
when it comes to ruining homebrew, sony screwed up...
and yes, i have a TA-082 but that doenst bother me beucase they can be downgraded just fine now, but be very careful when downgrading, if your not sure if you did something right, before you move on, find out, be certain. - cadguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1excellent work.
- ultragoregrind, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3wicked!
- wonginator1221, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmmm.... I tried this on my psp (not TA-082). HEN seemed to work (pale blue screen). I copied the 1.5 firmware update (http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-1.50-File-%28EBOOT%29-North-America-Firmwares-PSP/pg/12/fid/163/catid/163) into psp/game/UPDATE/UPDATE.PBP Now when I try to use the updater, the psp says the data is corrupted. Without renaming the firmware to UPDATE.PBP I get that 2.80 is the latest firmware and an update isn't necessary.
??? - magical1492, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm playing FFVII on my custom firmware PSP right now. :D
- tomvendetta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I read this news earlier this morning when I was having trouble going to sleep.
I downloaded all the required files, put them on my memory card.
Ran Hen-D and it worked first try. I ran the cube demo and it worked fine. I ran the IdStorage changer and it worked fine. I got nervous at this point and decided to double check everything, so I quit HEN-D and went back into USB mode.
After verifying all files were in the correct place I tried to get back into HEN-D, It kept on locking up, must have tried it over 70 times.
Cleared the memory card and reinstalled everything. Locked up another 30 times.
Cleared and reinstalled one more time and it ran after 5 trys. I ran the IdStorage changer and it said I already had done this, so I ran the downgrader and 2 minutes later I was on 1.5. A truley amazing peice of software. - wbrooks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://www.duggmirror.com didn't get it.... but the site seems to be working fine now anyway. Disregard.
- nicklinus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1can anyone point to a site or fourm that can tell me what I need to do to hack my psp. Thanks
- Topher06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Anybody else notice about the only fun thing to do on a PSP is updgrade and downgrade firmware? If they made any decent games, then perhaps this wouldn't be news. I can't wait for the downgrading of PS3 firmware news.
- 0olong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually, it's fun to downgrade and play damn near every game ever made for NES, SNES, Neo Geo, PSOne, Genesis, and PSP.
oops, I forgot the Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, and N64. - ebojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Im kinda new at this but I was given a brief explanation of how to hack a psp today so that you can play downloaded games. i was told that i needed a psp with version 2.70 to be able to install 2.80 and then 3.10. However, when i went to gamestop today, their used systems were 2.81 and im sure the new systems are atleast 2.81. Any help on how to hack a 2.81 version?
- mageofdeath, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4there's already a custom 3.03 oe-b upgrade from darkalex...
- twangbender, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3@neckaros
the only person to blame for bricking your psp is yourself, if you follow the steps correctly you will have a successful downgrade - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1no ***** im tryin that
