- Zalien, on 10/12/2007, -14/+67If you actually had a Wii, you'd want to keep it.
- Diggtatorship, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25Actual conversation I had at Gamestop today:
Me: I'll take these 2 games here
Gamestop: ok, is there anything else I can get you?
Me: You could throw in a couple Wii's (I'm still looking for one for myself and one for my mom to give to my little bro for Christmas)
Gamestop: *laughs* sorry not a chance... I could throw in a couple PS3's though. We've got a bunch in the back that we cant get rid of.
Me: *laughs* no thanks
If you dont think thats a problem, consider that its 2 days before christmas, and this is a console that launched a month ago. It's not as if they're flooding the market either. Time to accept the fact that they're not selling! - iluvatar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18@SSCrow

the only system with a FPS as the best selling game is the xbox with Halo. I'd say it's too early to tell with the Wii or PS3.

- MouseCircus, on 10/12/2007, -10/+26Couldn't come up with a way to defend Sony this time, so instead, you stoop to insults, huh Zetsurin? And yet you still expect people to take you seriously, and to just leave the PS3 alone until it gets better in a year or so. I seriously would take you more seriously if you did practice what you preach.
Sarcastic or not, you still come off as a hypocritical jerk. - Melvil, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I went to Best Buy last night and they had about 20-25 60GB PS3's in stock. I couldn't believe that, if I had wanted one, it would have been that easy to get one three days before Christmas.
- hannahmar, on 06/11/2009, -5/+17I hear see the Nintendo guys cackling and saying "Everything is going exactly according to plan!", ending with a bit of evil laughter.
I'm a Wii owner, couldn't be happier with the system and I wouldn't trade it for a PS3, I think, ever. :) - SSCrow, on 10/12/2007, -15/+27@pile
wtf are you talking about. First Person shooters are the best selling titles in europe and america. The japanese market is the only one where FPS is a minority in sales.
look at the best selling games on each system.

how dare you state FPS is no longer popular or good. - nipterink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12there are also people offering a lot of money for either console. then the just beat the ***** out of you and steal it. craigslist brings new meaning to supply and demand.
- MindOfWarped, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14All I have to say is that the Best Buy by me had a sign on the entrance door that said "We have PS3's in stock!" all day yesterday and nobody was buying them (yes, they had some right on the sales floor, 20gb & 60gb). A friend of mine who works there told me they had four PS3 returns today and all of them were unopened. Everyone who returned a PS3 said it was because they were at or were getting close to their 30 day exchange limit and they couldn't find any buyers on craigslist or ebay. Good luck finding a Wii though...
- Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Same at my local Best Buy.
So if you figure.....
more Wii's have been produced and shipped and are impossible to get
vs.
WAY less produced and shipped PS3's that ARE in stock.
You don't have to be a genius to figure out what the better console is. - ryanschmidt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17Of all places, I saw a sign at my barber's today, while I was getting my hair cut... 20GB PS3 For Sale, New with extra controller for $650.
Not that big of a deal but people are that desperate to sell them when last month they were selling for 3k on ebay. It was the ONLY for sale sign in the place I have ever seen.
Messed up. wii's own ps3s - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10At least one PS3 fanboy can start to balance out the Wii fanboys. It's always good to have at least some sort of balance.
(In a perfect world, one stupid PS3 fanboy would cancel out one stupid Wii fanboy, and everybody's life would be better.) - bacardi151, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6what the ***** did you just say?
- michaelcorcoran, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8"and for people like yourself that are happy with SDTV and therefore not a big movie fan, there's the PS2 or Wii. "
That is the worst logic I have ever heard. I really don't think what being happy with SDTV disqualifies you from being a big movie fan.
Lookup the differences of the words "fan" and "snob".
on top of that, I'm sure the "purest" of the snobs prefer genuine film. - hannahmar, on 06/11/2009, -1/+7HappyScrappy:
Well, I have a sibling and a family where we love to spend time with each other. We play Wii and a lot of really fun 4 player games for the gamecube. I guess it depends on why you buy the machine, and for me, the Wii is perfect. For other games, like FPSs and such, I have my PC. It seems like the only games I would be playing on a PS3 would be FPS so buying a PS3 would be really redundant. - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You made the same exact comment somewhere else...
- anglachel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@elnerdo: are you proposing some sort of island we send all the fan boys to and have them "Vote" (read "stab/kill") each other off... maybe on a weekly basis?
Cause I'd watch. - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Warren Buffett. And he's gonna die first.
- Robomonkey, on 10/12/2007, -8/+13I already own a Wii (And I love it!), and the only reason that I want a PS3 is the fact that this is Sony's biggest mistake in it's entire lifespan. I just want a piece of history.
- Guard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Horray for the English language.
Rough Translation:
The iPod is the new revolution in gaming, and the PSP 3 will be released soon? - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I'm sitting here playing the Gran Turismo HD demo, and I can say that there is a lot more potential in the PS3 than just FPSes.
WOW. It looks and plays great.
Again, I'm not saying Wii isn't any fun. I played Zelda for 5 hours two days ago, and I'll be playing it again tomorrow (I rotate between the 3 machines on a daily basis). But I'm saying if you have an opportunity to get a PS3 for $250, I'd take it. It's a good investment. And you'll be able to get a Wii with little problem in a few weeks. - andreo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"I hate to see the PS3 doing so bad because that would just make Bill Gates even richer"
Which means that even more money will go to charities when he dies. Name the last rich person that has ask that almost all of their cash be given away to help others when they die... - Qacer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I am not surprised. My brother's fiancee got a PS3 because she traded her Wii with a co-worker. On a side note, my friend paid $1200 for his PS3 in hopes of selling it on Ebay for profit. Hehe.
- blankman2g, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4You don't figure the price has a bit to do with it?
- Pile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This whole mercenary market is very fragile. Anyone speculating in these items that doesn't have them in hand right now, is taking a big risk. Sooner or later, probably sooner, these units are going to be everywhere and worth less than retail.
- andreo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Go ahead. In 2 years it will be outdated.
- tendonut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You can walk into a Target and Wal-Mart and buy them as easily as you can buy a DS or a 360 here. I've been to Target 3 times this week and each time, there were at least 5 PS3s there. Have yet to see a Wii, and when I asked about it, they say people have been camping out overnight for them to get them in the morning.
- Alphabet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3it's about the profit margin and ease of moving. The profit margin + ease of moving is much higher for a wii than a ps3. There's also speculation. The price of a wii on ebay is still increasing, while the ps3 is decreasing. Which means that if you buy a wii now and wait, you may get more profit later on.
- Renton, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5http://pr0n.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/c/c3/1035352433.jpg
"This is pretty much the upper limit of Sony fanboy creativity." - deardahl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4The PS3 is not failing, unless you can look into the future and know something the rest of us don't.
It's waaaay to early to call, not saying PS3 is going to win, but it is too early to call. - Sabin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I totally dugg up that post just for what hes doing to the english language there.
- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Why wouldn't they trade it for a 360? Unless these people are just trying to sell them on ebay and figure they can make a bigger profit from a Wii.
- BillDoE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Why would these people want to trade their hard-earned PS3 for a Nintendo Wii, "
Because they are stupid and can't wait 2 weeks to find one on the store shelves. - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's really a shame that the PS3 is as bad as it is (so far, at least. I'm sure it'll get better).
Hell, I absolutely love my PS2, and really hate to see it getting ditched for something like the PS3.
But to be an honest Wii owner, I'm sure in a few years when the PS3's price drops a (few) hundred, I'll buy one. I'm saving up for a 360 now, and by the time I have enough money for a PS3 I'm sure there'll be some awesome games out for it.
But until then, I'll be playing Zelda. - clubmasta2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3What do you mean everyone doesn't have a $3000 HDTV in their living room? I've got 8
How many of you just play games for the graphics? I do, I can honestly not care about anything else, I just want it to look good. I don't even know why they threw in that controller, I mean who cares about gameplay...what if they just showed video of people exploding over and over. I think that would be worth $2k easy. - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6You should get an SACD player instead. PS3 is a long way from a failure right now. But time will tell.
- Lazybones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Your friend is stupid if he payed $1200 and then thought he could make a good profit on top of that. Even during the preorder launch day pricing, they where typically only going for up to $1500 with a few odd higher auctions. Purchasing it for the retail price the person he payed $1200 must be laughing.
- andreo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Unless your one of the handful of morons that keep their Christmas lights up all year (and the smaller number that run them every day on top of that) then your problems will be over in about a week.
So don't worry bout it. - nagaisu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I bought a PS3, and had no problem getting it. I don't think that Wii or Xbox are any better. The reason that Playstation might lose the console war is simply price. I've got the money to spend, but for most (especially kids) the cost is prohibitive. All that said, I really like mine. Just not enough games yet.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was in Best Buy yesterday and there were 5 PS3s on the shelves. I looked around the store for about an hour. When I came back, they were still there. The next gen war is already over. sony and blu-ray are done.
- andreo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm, you still don't get it.
It's not about the graphics. I can pull out Master of Orion right now and spend the rest of the night playing it. The same with Tie Fighter vs. X-Wing. Lemmings. And dozens of other games. The graphics on them blows chunks compared to whats out now. BUT THEY ARE FUN. And that's what is attracting people to the Wii. The fun part.
Get it.
It's about fun. That's what it's always been about. The graphics is just icing. - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't think you get it. *Cough*replybuttonftw*cough*
- UniversalTarget, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I wish I could do this "trading high quality for low quality" for a video card on my PC and have the games be better or more interactive.
A shame, that. - Guard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yet you'd rather buy a $600 system to be able to buy PS1 games on the store (since theres only 1 other game worth buying for it)?
Call Of Duty 3 = casual party game.
Madden = casual party game.
Zelda = casual party game.
Wait...
I'm actually disappointed at the moment that Wii Sports and Rayman are really the only casual party games out so far. WarioWare has been good on every system so far (except maybe GC because it was just a port...) and Mario Party will hopefully be alright too. - johnhummel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Probably because a) the Wii is "the" Christmas gift this holiday season, and the Xbox 360 is really easy to find.
- lemorex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I went to Gamestop yesterday because my friend wanted to buy his girlfriend a DS. They were out of DS and the Wii, but surprisingly they had PS3's in stock.
- andreo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"You don't figure the price has a bit to do with it?"
Nah, at this point Nintendo could tack on an extra 200 bucks and they would still fly off the shelves. The soccer moms wouldn't be happy about the price increase but the Wii has made a name for itself now. - djSyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm sure the GT demo looks great. And like GT 4 Prologue, you'll get tired of it in a week. Have fun waiting two more years for the real thing.
- Daiken, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hmmm my guess is that a lot of ebayers realized they're making a lot more profit off of selling Wii's, so that's why they're trying to dump their extra ps3's. (sorry didn't read article so forgive me if that's what it says)
