- mazerrackham, on 10/12/2007, -0/+142I imagine it went down like this:
After the employee locked him in the store, he ran around hitting ceiling tiles with his head. A few of them contained coins, and one of them contained a mushroom that made him grow larger. Once he was large, he ran into the back room and jumped on a large pipe jutting up from the floor. He crouched down and found himself in the basement, where there were a few more coins floating above a platform. He ran and gathered those, then hit his head on a floating brick which produced a leaf. He picked up the leaf and ate it, and grew a racoon tail. He then jumped up into a different pipe on the other end of the basement. This brought him back in the area of the store where he'd already been. The other employee was there waiting between the pipe he'd just come out of and the employee room door, so he jumped on the employees head and knocked him out of the way. He then ran as fast as he could back into the employee room and with just a few feet left jumped into the air and flew himself into the open heating duct pipe. When he was caught, the racoon tail had worn off, but he still had his coins. - Balcifer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+72That's real nice, lock your co-worker in with the idiot with the gun. Nothing could go wrong there.
- StateofMind09, on 10/12/2007, -6/+58Anyone else see the humor in his last name?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+43"Police said Blackman had nearly $600 stored in his pants and another $54 in coins in his sweat shirt."
Why in the world would you take coins when you are going to have to run away? - knightblade2oo4, on 10/12/2007, -11/+41im in yur ductz, stealin yur consolz
- dsendecki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25That is an amazing logical and well supported argument.
- AntBing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Am I the only one who finds the crooks last name funny?

Circumvent any security system known to man.
Pick up hot chicks.

All before he's graduated the 9th grade! - toxicgonzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19!
What was that?
Is somebody there? - Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20We don't actually know if he's black or not. It'd only really be funny if he were white
- CandidateZero, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19No no no. Metal Gear Solid is the only real compelling game coming out on the PS3. That answers why he stole one and where he got the bright idea that heating ducts allow a stealthy escape. Some games make you kill people, others make you try to sneak through ducts. "Huh? What was that noise?" Fission Mailed.
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16mazerrackham gets the post of the day award.
- goodbeershow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15He should have played Splinter Cell more.
- sjbdallas, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18Buried as innacurate. He went for a Wii but had to settle for a PS3.
- floppyparty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Think this guy was bad? Check this guy out.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Robbery is so easy, I don't know how he got caught. I mean, I jack peoples ***** all the time in GTA: SA.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Antuan Blackman?
lol - diggfinity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11You're absolutely right. There seems to be a shortage of well-educated, intelligent criminals. 8|
- diggfinity, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Sounds like a supervillian. From the Bronx.
- diggfinity, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15user123, you are the reason there is still racism in the world.

- reddevil3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Antuan = probably black.
- JD52, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9No see you all have the story twisted.
He was there to "return" the PS3. They must have told him they could not because it was past the return date. That's when things got ugly. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Sounds like somebody didn't watch the mythbusters bust the myth of heating duct robbers actually succeeding.
- junkmagnet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7More details here: http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/233188,duct012807.article
"The offender told the two employees he was not going to hurt them and then demanded money from the store. He also asked about the location of the PlayStation 3s. After the two employees took the suspect to the back of the store to show him where the PlayStations were, he found out he was being recorded on the store’s camera system, Bickham said. One of the employees escaped the offender and locked him and the other employee in the store after the offender sent her to the front of the store to get the key to access the camera system. Once outside the store the employee flagged down police.
"Officers reviewed the security camera to see where the offender stashed the handgun and found him hiding in the air duct." - dooms13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"If i wanted to i could plan and rob a bank withing 1 week."
Yeah you are right. You could plan it and probably rob it. You wouldn't get away with it though. - wedges, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8i bet Sony paid him to do it. "Look! People want our system!"
- RealityCheque, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You already know the answer to that question.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I often think of ways I could improve on the plans of stupid criminals, or when I see a homeless person, ways that they could probably get more money than what they're doing - but then I remember, oh yeah, that's why I'm not a criminal or a homeless person.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5People are still stealing PS3s? That is so 2006.
Anything for a hit of drugs, I guess :/ - Mesach, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9There are no Wii thefts, because there is no stock to steal.
When they get the stock, its usually gone within minutes. - Xanadude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hooray for the "Fission Mailed" reference!
- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Everybody else read the thread.
- Qoogirl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5If anything, this attempted theft shows that the PS3, if not kept for one's own use, is still thought to generate cash at an auction.
On a second note, the number of comments about his last name having "black" in it show a particularly sad side of digg's users. Every single article on here has some obsession with the racial dynamic of whites and blacks when it is clearly unrelated. Even more interestingly, half the users claim that "race card" and "claims of racism" are out of hand in America as if race does not occupy the American conscience, and here in an article about PS3 theft the topic of race appears because a man's last name has Black in it. Race is clearly on everyone's mind, whether or not they will admit it. Just a note. - iso100, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4He couldn't use his pockets because his pants were way too baggy and the waistline was around his knees... on purpose. His designer boxers, however, were in the proper location around his waist but alas, they have no pockets.
- behn1220, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Impossible...they can't even keep enough Wiis in stock for the thieves.
- DiggYaLater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well put. Sad but true.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3People really need to get jobs, seriously.
This guy should be thrown in an incinerator to stop his procreation. - PunkHop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Do ya know what we need, man? Some rope.
Absolutely. What are you, insane?
No I ain't. Charlie Bronson's always got rope.
What?
Yeah. He's got a lot of rope strapped around him in the movies, and they always end up using it.
You've lost it, haven't ya?
No, I'm serious. - Ndiggnation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You think a guy this dumb was thinking about taking it home and setting it up on his Wi-Fi network? :)
- stateq2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Very well put. Racism is very much alive and strong....no matter what these self-proclaimed "politically incorrect" people will say.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He was caught thieving, and his last name is Blackman. Im not going to say anything about how that is funny, or show any prejudice.
- inkubux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Duh!!! you don't use it you sell it others
- MiDri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Spoofing mac address from behind a router is not that tough -- and serial would only be for registering/returning it.
+ sell it ;p - kenz0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You do realize that now you can directly reply to comment's. Things have changed since 2005 my friend.
- DrakeTheRedEye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What an F'n idiot. I love when he tries to go back in the vent he came in through, and lands on a shelf full of bottles. Bahahaha
- iso100, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ZOMG! Bud, you're the man!
