- Li0nheart, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37I'm not a Sony fan boy or anything but why does it seem like all of a sudden everyone wants Sony's PS3 to fail. It just seems like everyone is so quick to post negative comments about the PS3, but not post anything good and there is good things to post. Just play the games no matter what console they're on, they're what make the consoles any worth buying.
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29well come on the first article said 5 PS3 games cancelled. A real article from IGN stated 4 PS3 games and 2 Wii games cancelled. It showed how fanboyish Digg is.
- catalysis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+281000 diggs on the cancellation story, 13 diggs on the retraction. 'nuff said.
- Malhavoc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23It's hard being a digg user that has or is looking forward to a PS3. I've been called a Sony fanboy, but I always state that I'm a Final Fantasy and MGS fanboy, so by default my loyalty lies with Sony.
Anytime anything even slightly negatice for Sony happens, instant 1000 diggs. Anytime something postive happens for Sony, potential 100 diggs if enough Sony supporters can outdigg the people digging the article down.
Dugg in hopes some 360 fanboy reads this and trips trying to backpeddle over his "Ha ha! Another 5 titles lost for PS3." - WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18MouseCircus,
remember that article that got over 1000 Diggs that said 650k PS3s were to be recalled?
remember that article that said the PS3 games cost 80$?
Oh, and FYI, he said he has been called a Sony fanboy. Probably by you at one point. - MrFlesh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15SONY'S GAMEZ NOT CANCELED!!! This is the last nail in the coffin Sony is done for. The PS3 will fail because of rootkits and price! Blu-ray will fail because sony is stuck up! HD-DVD ROOLZ!!!!! Now all I have to do is watch the diggs come in. :P
- wild, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Its all the fanboys, I think.
Fanboyism in general is just stupid. Love the games. Don't hate the delivery method. - Dibbz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14You can't deny that the current trend is to bash anything with Sony or Playstation on it. The Konami cancels article didn't take long till it got to the front page, yet this article won't ensue the same fate. There have been about 3 other articles this night about the same thing and none of them have reached the front page.
EDIT:- Take a look at one of them: http://digg.com/gaming_news/Konami_s_PS3_Titles_NOT_Cancelled - WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12arthor should have put Wii in first, then PS3. then it would have more diggs. also, for even MORE diggs, disregard the PS3. would have made it to the front page a long time ago.
- Xuqu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Sorry for abusing reply system but also this: http://digg.com/gaming_news/Sony_did_not_lie_about_the_emmy_fiasco_it_was_an_honest_mistake
- shrewduser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8did anyone really believe that a japanese game company would scale back its projects for the only 2 japanese consoles?
i know i didn't - cookiemonster01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6someone at Famitsu is getting the axe
- Avalontor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8you made me laugh.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Well thats good news.
- uberdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Screw Gradius. I'm waiting for the new Duke Nuke'em.
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4the only thing that can be considered accurate and truthful is the RAM. if the cell processor was broken, why would folding@home rely on it?
MOST games RIGHT NOW THIS MINUTE suck. Resistance is only good one out. - dhess, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2THANK GOODNESS! I can finally rest easy knowing that my copy of "New Action Adventure Game 2" will be waiting for me in a location near me!
I was literally aching over that one. Thank you, Konami =D - wild, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5"Most of these titles don't even have a name yet, much less a release date."
Its a listing for investor purposes. "We are working on these games, but won't reveal what they are." Sites like Famitsu take those investor filings and list them as coming soon on their charts, but they don't list the release date because Konami hasn't revealed them yet.
Its not that they probably will be cancelled, its that the company only wants to reveal what it legally has to at this point. - MrFlesh, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5actually no. The PS3 and Xbox 360 HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF RAM!!!!! Let's get that clear. The main difference is the 360 has 512mb of general purpose ram and the PS3 has 256mb of system memory and 256mb of graphics memory.
- hirschab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was the first one to digg this story! Give me my glory damnit!
- 0olong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like this one will be lost in the pile due to it not being a Sony bash.
- BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I didn't say that, I said "not enough". For $500/$600, my gaming system should have a gigabyte of RAM, considering how cheap RAM is these days.
- MouseCircus, on 10/12/2007, -8/+8Er, this isn't even negative. In fact, it's positive.
---------
Although these games aren't cancelled, I'm assuming that most of them are being considered for cancellation. Most of these titles don't even have a name yet, much less a release date. Maybe they're going to wait and see if they'll be able to have the resources for all those projects. Maybe they want to see how well the consoles do in the next few months. - jacksons98, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@BenSerwa Actually the Ram in the PS3 is very fast and probably not that cheap. (don't know about 360 ram details sorry) Secondly unlike your PC you don't have 30 other processes going and some hog of an OS named Windows eating up half of it.
- knaps, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Xugu -- Dugg the story and your comment because I knew it all along. A lot of Sony's stuff is just a bunch of PR errors, or miscalculations from initial guesstimates. People are way too harsh on their opposing console. I think it's funny how people will bash Sony thread after thread, because they didn't ship as well as they were expecting, and blame it on everything under the sun just so they feel better about owning a 360 (awesome) or Wii(equally awesome). it's $600 folks, is that enough logic? It's not that people don't want them, or that Sony lied about how much they sold, or that the filthy liars at Sony accepted an award, or the rootkit fiasco, or anything else.
Honestly, Rootkit was the only truly evil thing I've ever seen Sony do. Blu-ray is pretty close, but you realize that every system before CD-based consoles were propreitary. Even the Gamecube had a propreitary disc format.
I'm a college student, that means I'm too poor to afford any of the new consoles. I've played tons of games on all three, and I love all three. People need to get over the bias and just accept the fact that the box in their living room is likely to play some fun games, so why not just shut up and enjoy it? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
In Bizzaro world, every PS3 game is canceled. - 0olong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's in style right now to bash Sony.
I have all three systems, each for different reasons.
PS3: FFXII, MGS4, Resistance, and a lot of other games coming soon.
X360: Gears, Lost Planet... nothing else as of yet, and i don't care for Halo. They have a lot in the pipe too.
Wii: ... not playing much yet, if I want to bowl, i'll go out. Looking forward to Metroid and Super Mario.
To bash one system for it's flaws is fine, but I think people need to be honest. The 360 was bashed to hell last year because it had nothing to offer and was expensive for the time (I recall a lot of people complaining at the $399 and $299 cost for a 360. It had a slow start, and really has only two big killer apps a year later. The Wii is a fad that may or may not die. They need to keep up the interactivity of the games to really win the "console war" or they will fall behind... and I don't think a cooking or painting game would cut it (though a new Mario Paint would kick ass). Someone died for the Wii, if it were a PS3, then everyone would be up in arms and this would be a front page story... Sony had the worst launch in history... period. I don't think anyone can say with any honesty that they'll fail. They have a system that has a lot of possibilities, expensive yes, but it has potential. If they're at the same spot in Jan of 2008, then it's dead. Call me a fanboy if you want, digg me down if you want. - WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2we know man. we all do. you can tell the fanboys from the normies in this case, and you are a Sony fanboy. xbox and wii fanboys deny it.
- bnp1988, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0hahaha i knew my previous comment would get burried...
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2I'm not digging this article for the same reason I didnt' digg the other. It's not news.
I don't like the anti-PS3 articles making the front page, but I'm not going to digg up anti-anti-PS3 articles in an attempt to try to counter it.
What really needs to happen is some people need to grow up and get off the hatewagon and start enjoying the console they do own instead of crapping on another one. - GliTCH82, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Correction, Sony just slipped a fat wad of cash into Konami's pockets so they couldn't refuse.
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2well, no. it will be in about 48 hours, but not now.
- InfinitySnatch, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0Like the games canceled were anything to cry over. I'm pretty sure nobody is going to buy a PS3 for a Coded Arms port.
Did I forget Gradius?! I did didn't I! - WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5Its not the 360 fanboys to blame here...
proof: original article said nothing of the two Wii games canceled. - BenSerwa, on 10/12/2007, -14/+4Hey, what about those of us who aren't fanboys but just legitimately think the PS3 sucks? Does thinking the PS3 is a ***** product automatically make you a "hater" or a "fanboy"?
The Cell Processor is broken.
Blu-ray is unnecessary and sucks.
The thing does NOT have enough RAM.
The games (right now) suck.
I want to see the PS3 fail, sure. But it's not because of loyalty to another brand. It's because it /sucks/. - bnp1988, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2Sony PS3... such a waste of money, the machine is disgusting. I actually feel sorry for Sony, it reminds me of a time when bashing of the original Xbox was a popular trend. Oh... and about the PS3 not selling in stores, i remember a lot of people saying thats a false rumor. I was at the mall a week ago and I asked the guy working at Software ETC. if they were selling their PS3's, he said "OH YEA. do you want one?" i said no thank you. Sarcasticly he even said, "You can have TWO if you want." so people that are still in denial, go check it out its pretty interesting...
- MouseCircus, on 10/12/2007, -20/+1So just because you are a fan of the MGS series and the FF series you have to be loyal to Sony? Flawed logic?
I know, and mostly everyone here probably knows that I'm a huge Nintendo fan. But that does not mean that I have pledged my life to them. Remember that article about the issues with VGA cables and Gears of War? That made it to the front page. Remember all those articles about problems with the Wii remote's strap? Remember all those articles about the hardware problems 360 owners had to endure right after launch? Those made it to the front page, too. Those articles safely made it to the front page and no one cried foul.
This is what's wrong with the Sony loyalists: Whenever a Sony-related article with even the most remote traces of negativity pops up, the Sony droids swoop in to save the day and find an excuse. Remember the article about the 1080i problems? The Sony fans kept trying to find some way to debunk the article. Remember all those articles about the retarded comments made by the Sony PR team? Don't tell me a Sony fan didn't show up and start whining.
There's even something called the Sony Defence Force. What the hell did Sony slip into your drinks?
Anyway, the point of my comment is this: It's entirely OKAY to be dissatisfied with your favorite company. When Nintendo dropped the ball and delayed Zelda for another year, I was annoyed. I was even more annoyed when I found out it was because they wanted to make a Wii version of it. I was annoyed when they announced the prices of the VC games. And the huge Zelda nerd inside of me was even more annoyed when they made Link right-handed. I still love the company though.
And no, being a fan of the FF series, or the MGS series does not make you a Sony fanboy. You're a Sony fanboy by CHOICE. It's obvious that fans of both those series are in love with other consoles. Why do you think so many 360 owners want MGS4 on the 360? Why do you think Wii owners want more Square-Enix games on the Wii? It's not because we're plotting to destroy Sony. It's because these people love these games.
Stop pretending like the PS3 is the holy grail of gaming. Stop whining on negative PS3 stories. Stop accusing everyone of posting libel on Digg. It's retarded, and stupid. You're not getting anyone to purchase the PS3 by bitching on Digg each time someone reports factual news. Sure, some of it is sensationalist news, but you can't deny that it isn't without justification. Sony has been making bad business decisions, and now they're facing the consequences.
Oh, and FYI, of course people will flock to the negative articles. And this is true of any console, product, candidate for office, etc. If Sony wasn't ***** up to begin with, these articles wouldn't be posted. If you really want to point the finger at someone, then point at Sony.

What is Digg?
Digg is coming to a city (and computer) near you! Check out all the details on our
