- DekarCorvus, on 04/30/2008, -0/+4Society is not responsible for raising other peoples kids. its unfortunate that other parents out there suck, and do not properly raise the kids...but controlling content and ratings....and holding back things because they may "offend" or be too "harsh" for some kids to understand is not right. if you wanna advocate something or put guidelines on something...or make someone responsible for the real problem....have tighter control on bad parents. punish the people who bring kids into this world and fail to teach them right from wrong. do NOT punish those of us with good values and the common sense to teach our kids the same.
- tech42er, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Absolutely. People have no right to infringe on others' freedom just because they're offended or they're worried about "the children". Censorship is wrong, no matter what.
- tech42er, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Meh. In my days, we said "jack off"; we didn't have none of your fancy picture-abbreviations.
- Stewieeeeeee, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Totally agree with this article - if you don't show your kids what is the wrong, and what is the right how will they know the difference between them?
- Manae0, on 05/04/2008, -0/+1Wise blogger is wise.
- rockyrakun, on 05/02/2008, -0/+1Awesome! See I'm only 21 and when I was growing up I played all sorts of violent games, whether it was the original GTA or fantasy games. I was always taught that killing in games is ok because it isn't real. Same thing with movies. Nowadays I have been at the store and see an 11 or 12 year old talking about how fun San Andreas was. I was shocked like. These kids were like at my waist and were playing these games BUT if they are mature enough and understand it. So yeah YAY for responsible parents!!!
- nico623, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Lets not forget...many a young lad will OGC to the strippers...
- lacronicus, on 04/29/2008, -4/+1None of these guidelines are in place for the families with proper adults at their head. They are in place for the children who don't have parents responsible enough to teach them right and wrong. Our quarrel, for the most part, isn't with the government or these advocacy groups, but with the parents who don't care about where their kids are or what they're doing. Given a choice, I'd much rather a child be given publicly supported guidance than no guidance at all, and unfortunately, that's the choice we must inevitably make as a society.
