That's because you and I have fully developed brains with an evolved sense of self awareness. People who die while playing video games tend to be very young, and the part of their brains which regulate things like impulse, decision making, and weighted analysis isn't fully developed. Also, videogames provide stimulating feedback for undestimulated young brains. Five years ago, I would sit in front of my computer and play Quake III Arena for twelve hours without getting hungry or thirsty. From my count this year its closer to 10. It always seems to be an asian country that it happens in too.
What they should do with that anti-obsession thing is ever 4 hours just pause everything in the server for 10-15mins, just like an intermission so you get get your ass up and eat or maybe even go find something else to do in the real world! Not saying im not guilty of sitting infront of a computer for for long periods, but at some point i have to say ok enough and go do something else, but man its sad that they even need to think about putting something like this into a GAME.
