- bixby1, on 07/17/2009, -0/+137I remember going through all the change dispensers at the arcade. Sometimes I'd find a precious coin. There was more happiness in that moment than my entire adult life.
- marcb83, on 07/17/2009, -4/+120You can beat mario with out moving the controller?
- acevoncash, on 07/17/2009, -4/+89Achievement Unlocked: Get Laid.
- dinglebutt, on 07/17/2009, -1/+67This is a secret achievement. You must unlock this achievement to find out more about it.
- brook011, on 07/17/2009, -0/+39(x) Achievement Unlocked : Broken Controller
- casspa, on 07/17/2009, -0/+38I game, therefore I am.
- edjenkins234, on 07/17/2009, -0/+38Everything in this list/comic is true.
Plus I don't think the author knows that lifting the controller in the air while grimicing is the only way to jump really high in mario. - phyx726, on 07/17/2009, -1/+37dugg for blowing into game cartridges
- keviniskool, on 07/18/2009, -0/+31Nintendo made sure to correct that problem with the Wii.
- mcskizzles, on 07/17/2009, -0/+29I remember wishing my family vacations would be cut short by bad weather so I could go home and play Leaderboard golf on my Commodore 64.
- AwesomeGuy666, on 07/17/2009, -2/+25I used to be the master at blowing Nintendo tapes clean! Of course, I also owned a Game Gear, so that's a strike.
- cheddaro, on 07/17/2009, -2/+21People like you should not try drugs.
You will like them. - Fabbyfubz, on 07/17/2009, -1/+15Games aren't getting crappier, you're just getting older
='( - deathbybrass, on 07/17/2009, -0/+12I think you missed the point...
- cheddaro, on 07/17/2009, -0/+11Dugg for the "having the game first" achievement.
I remember when Super Mario Bros 3 was unveiled in the movie The Wizard, and feeling like such a badass because I had already beaten the Japanese import of it. I felt like the coolest kid in school, even though most people probably didn't actually give a *****. - CrackyJSquirrel, on 07/17/2009, -0/+11The greatest accomplishment was successfully taking more than one position on the leader board in succession to enter things like:
1. SUK - 2000000000
2. DIK - 1000000000 - AustinMeoang, on 07/18/2009, -0/+10Bye.

Achievement Unlocked: Finish Battletoads Bike Stage
One day I will beat the whole game.... - inactive, on 07/17/2009, -1/+11"Nintendo tapes"
uh....? - newmanium2001, on 07/17/2009, -0/+9I can't say I saw Game Gear fanboys as much as it was just Sega fanboys. All these years later, I tend to think I might've been wrong in going with the SNES, because that blood in Mortal Kombat WAS pretty cool, and I never liked Mario. Then again there was Final Fantasy. Ohh nostalgia.
- s73v3r, on 07/17/2009, -0/+9you mean Wednesday isn't opposite day
- HamSandwich, on 07/17/2009, -0/+99. Spelled "off" correctly
- d0x360, on 07/17/2009, -1/+10Im going to have to disagree with you on that one. While they is alot of useless boring games these days there are just as many if not more AAA games put out than there ever was.
Telling someone Pacman is a better game than Grand Theft Auto is completely subjective. I wouldnt mind if you explained how its a useless insipid mess. Its easy to say something like that but I'd wager for every negative point you bring up others could bring up a positive or 2. - DrDragun, on 07/17/2009, -2/+10Buried for beating a game with 0 ***** save checkpoints.
- d0x360, on 07/17/2009, -0/+8We were all secret lovers of whatever console we didnt own. I had a Genesis and my friend a SNES and we would constantly bash the other. Of course every day we were at each others houses playing Secret of Mana or Streets of Rage and quite a few times we traded consoles for a month at a time.
- ausoff2, on 07/17/2009, -0/+8Ya know, to say that leaderboards were just bragging rights among friends is just a little ignorant of arcade leaderboards. Those High score boards in arcade cabinets (for your initials, usually ASS or AAA) were the first leaderboards and were around to prove your gaming prowess before consoles were a glimmer in Nolan Bushnell's eye.
- urzishra14, on 07/17/2009, -0/+8I disagree.. there are terrible games now .. there were terrible games then.
- dshigure, on 07/17/2009, -0/+8Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A (Select) Start
- Sisko41, on 07/17/2009, -0/+8ding ding ding we haaaave a winner.
- DrDragun, on 07/17/2009, -0/+8oops meant Dugg, today is opposite day in my brain
- Atario, on 07/17/2009, -0/+7You damn kids get off my lawn.
Achievement Unlocked: Played Pong so long, the beeps start sounding like painful thunderclaps in your ears
Achievement Unlocked: Hung out in the arcade so long, your parents left you to walk home
Achievement Unlocked: Nearly frightened to pants-wetting the first time an alien banged on the windshield in "Rescue On Fractalus" - thathappycat, on 07/18/2009, -0/+7Acting like you were as fast as Sonic when you ran the mile during middle school. Yeeeeeahhhhhh!!!!!
- marcb83, on 07/17/2009, -0/+7did you use the shirt method? I loved that trick also the pencil eraser worked well too.
- EmperorAwesome, on 07/17/2009, -2/+9I hate it when people don't list their age and location on here, because I love to make little bets with myself. For example, this guy calling cartridges tapes is most likely 30-35 and living south of the mason-dixon line.
- s73v3r, on 07/17/2009, -0/+7Spec wise, yes. But it went through batteries like a *****. You had to have a pocket fusion generator if you wanted to play Sonic for more than 12 seconds.
- Joecrook, on 07/17/2009, -0/+7The good thing about being a kid is sometimes you don't realize how bad a game really is, you find the most joy out the simplest things. Kind of like unwrapping a new gift and throwing the contents aside and playing with the box.
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 07/17/2009, -0/+7What about the achievement of throwing your NES controller against the wall and it still working despite the rattling parts you now have inside..
- freeridstylee, on 07/17/2009, -0/+7Or the pushing the game all the way down and jamming another game on top. That was my fave.
- crossmr, on 07/18/2009, -0/+6homeless people do that too...
- Shuk, on 07/17/2009, -0/+6What I truly miss is the blissfully exciting feeling of getting a hyped new multiplayer game and playing it to death in a marathon session with friends. We could spend 6 hours sucked into one game and love every second of it.
- acehorne, on 07/17/2009, -0/+5How about blaming the control for when something went wrong (cause everyone knew to take the second controller when playing Double Dribble for the NES)?
- Vehshya, on 07/17/2009, -0/+5I miss my Game Gear... and the frustrating hours playing Sonic Spinball.
- riff1, on 07/17/2009, -1/+6"Fullfill promise to self to keep playing video games around two decades later"
I recently failed at this one. Ever since the days when Gears of War and Wii took over a few years ago, to me all games just seem stupid as hell for some reason... - joser916, on 07/17/2009, -1/+6
Achievement Unlocked: for being a douche bag after your grandma asked you what would be a great birthday present for your cousin? "Total Recall" for NES grandma, you sure because i remember him asking for a lega man, sega man, max man..., huh "mega man 2" grandma? yeah thats the one, nah grandma he well love this better plus it has his favorite action star in the game..
(yes this really happened damn it i should of just picked mega man 2, because he was older, pissed and he beat my ass!)
rule of thumb never let an 8yr old pick a video game for an older cousins birthday present! or you'll end up having a bloody kid... - hackiavelli, on 07/18/2009, -0/+5Game companies definitely love their character's hyper-masculine these days. It's like the 80s for video games.
- freakish_beast, on 07/17/2009, -0/+5I remember playing Sonic 2 on the Sega Genesis and when sonic would jump I would move the controller like i were jumping also which sometimes lead the system to freezing, good times.
- Hellicus, on 07/17/2009, -0/+5I feel you man... :(
- hackiavelli, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4I definitely miss side-scrollers.
