    Did Nintendo continue to produce the classic DS after they released the DS lite?
    It does the exact same thing, and will be no more expensive than the original.
    please, tell me what the problem is.

      From what I saw, no one is claiming that it's a problem. They're just saying that the old PSP will no longer be sold. Maybe you're the one seeing a problem where there is none.

      it too, is being phased out (for reals this time, honest!) to make way for a new version, and
      did I mention it's Sony? Hence, it is positively, absolutely, a *negative* thing by proxy.

I don't know anyone that would rather buy the old PSP. That's like buying a DS Phat now with the DS lite available.

    • smackhero, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2exactly. it doesn't make sense to continue producing the older version that is inferior and probably costs the same (or more) to manufacture. it's just like when they occasionally upgrade the components and improve the internal design of any console--they start upgrading all their manufacturing plants to produce parts for and put together the new revision of the hardware.

    Read it. Or go to joystiq and get it right from the horses mouth. The 60 gig is going NO WHERE. The PSP is getting switched like the PS2, and the PS1 before that.

    This is only bad news if you like your PSPs more expensive, with shorter battery life and thicker (or perhaps with an IR port which hackers have employed).
