- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1431 2 3 4 5? That's the stupidest password I've ever heard!
- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -2/+59I'm pulling off information and storing it in text format at http://www.madebylanemedia.com/wii.html with no ads.
- ejdunphy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+59remind me to change the combination to my luggage.
- IAmAI, on 10/12/2007, -3/+48With a username and password like that, I think 'guessed' would be a more accurate description than 'hacked'.
- dancpsu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+45That's like the password an idiot would have on his luggage..
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+40+1 for your Spaceballs reference.
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+33Well thanks for sharing it with us back then!
- Darrelc, on 10/12/2007, -7/+34You've got the KKK Version by accident.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25The user and password also works for: http://press.nintendo.com/
With even more info!!!!! - NoOneButMe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I dont think it was cracked/hacked - It looks like the "Golin Harris" thing Nintendo does/did for E3 - im sure they leaked it on purpose. Looks like the same format on their press site and all.
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I suspect that if you're planning to ship 4 million products in 40 days, having one color simplifies things hell of a lot. I guess they'll add them at a later date.
- lane.montgomery, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I've got info up on:
Wii Channel Menu
Third Party Titles
and of course some high-res Wii pr0n from their press kit. - wtfdaemon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14What do you mean, guessed? Whoever figured that password out was obviously a l33t h4x0r.
- ahhell, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16Wow that "hacker" has some L33T skillzzzz.
- Buckets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11There's also high res .bmp's in the zip files off the site.
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Cracked my ass, thats been the username and password for like the last 5 years and it was NEVER a secret.
- hausome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7No.
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I wonder if the "hacker" got this password through a brute-force attack :-)
- timmayk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Nintendo said they are making only one color (for now) to maximize availability (or something, i read it in the engadget transcript).
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@AllenHSmilden:
No, it goes all the way to 5. I know these things. Check http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094012/quotes for more info, if you'd like proof. - hausome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"Well thanks for sharing it with us back then!" -Nobi-Wan
- NoahK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The username and password was listed in the official press release announcement for editors. There was no guessing involved.
- SushiK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I learned two things I didn't know on the Channel Menu PDF.
The Wiimote has some kind of internal storage; because the avatar you can make is stored on the 'mote. I guess one controler for everyone in the house is now manditory.
And that you need to buy the web browser. It costs "Wii Points" so go fig. - hausome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You mean a password as inviting as that makes you wonder how mod friendly system will be! Back ups! Back ups! Back ups!!!!!!!
- Husky217, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3acabdriver is right. 480p, no HD support.
- 500freestyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'd have to agree. Not that I know, but thats obviousle not the kind of username and password you put on something secret.
- Dustyb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Defenetly the worst corperate password since "gaben"
- Slothy88, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I'm looking at the Fact Sheet and under colors, it's only listing White. What happened to the other colors?
- NobleArc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3My god, it's beautiful.
- LouisC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, there are all those channels, like Mii channel and the news and weather and message board...
Other than that, I don't know what other surprises there are. - MrBilly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Interesting- I didn't know that was the parrent website. I jsut gnow Gamestop mentioned this service one in a memo years ago for employee training. Havent heard about it since
- rileyjt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Who thinks Buckets works for Nintendo? :)
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Didn't Nintendo tell us they still had some surprises in store for us? It seems unlikely it was just the bundled game... I wonder if there's still anything else.
- zone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1damn, I run out of time to edit..
I was saying.. for example, I have the SMG logo as a 16 MB "RVL_SuperMario_logo01.psd", but here there's only a 1.6Mb JPG and it's less than half the resolution.. good new stuff tho :) - Himself, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1a marketing company (CreativeChannel.com) that doesn't advertise its projects??
hmmmmm
oh, wait, its september 19th so:
arrrrrg that be suspicious - acabdriver, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I could be wrong, but I think the reason you're not hearing anything about the resolution is because the Wii is standard definition, and not HD. That's just something I heard from a friend though, I'm sure if I'm wrong I'll be corrected shortly.
- lifeskillz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2And so it is... one of the best marketing schemes ever. Free traffic from Digg!
- DrPh0bius, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Publicity stunt without a doubt.
If it were information they didnt want the public seeing, they would have changed the password by now... - CriX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2One tidbit I can't find anywhere: What are the output resolutions supported by Wii? Are most games done in 720p ? 1080i ?
Thanks. Not related to the website cracking itself, but if anyone has a link or some info it would be most appreciated. - netarchitect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You think its possible that nintendo made an easy password on possible as a marketing scheme?
- zone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"There's also high res .bmp's in the zip files off the site."
has anyone found any .psd? I downloaded the also "leaked" press cd kit back then, but I don't see any of those on the sites. - cell00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Cracked your ass? That sounds nasty.
- AgentX24, on 10/12/2007, -9/+9not 'guest'?
- cannibaljp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1re: login / password
bwahahahahahahahahaha....
re: Wii
greatness~! - fiberspy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1My friend, you just won digg
- Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nobody figured anything out. Somebody got the info from Nintendo, and posted it.
The affiliates at the radio station I work at use generic logins all the time. So much easier than creating a seperate user/pass for everyone who will end up accessing the same content anyway. - clesch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice find.
- MrBilly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just like to point out a site called Cyberscholar.com anyone who works for a retailer that sells electronic products of any kind can get access to Nintendo press kits as well as Sony and other retailers that use this service. You can also get discounts and win stuff too for taking product knowledge tests. I don't know very many people that know about this, though as its not advertised. Nintedo has all sorts of contests bu no discount
- MechaZain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Coming from someone who has regular access, the Nintendo press site isn't the best thing in the world unfortunately...
- nyko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1LMAO Why do you need a crack lol All I did was goto Nintendo site . Signed up for access to press releases and they gave me access lol
