- SimonX314, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30Data has been added, thanks for the suggestion.
- KyleRayner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27Shouldve included graphs for exclusive games.
- SimonX314, on 10/12/2007, -7/+27Data only includes games which are confirmed and in development, not games which are planned. 200 is the number of PS3 games that are planned but not yet confirmed. Last week Sony's Phil Harrison clarified the number for us, "More than 100 games are in development."
http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=10339 - gahmahn, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Yes I agree but we're only talking about console I believe.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Goddam, there are 5,277 PS2 games?
- vermin, on 10/12/2007, -13/+26I really don't consider PC/360 games as "360 exclusives". PC is a platform as well.
- dspickes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Now this was what I was talking about when I said I wanted a little bit more unbiased source. At least Wikipedia gives the ability for ALL fanboys to tamper with, AND has a staunch guard-dog user group which holds factual accuracy above all else.
Bravo on the graphs! - GorGenator, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16Exactly how is this fanboy? It didn't say any of them were better than the others. I think your just a PS3 fanboi and your too embarrassed to admit that Sony ***** up. I will admit the PS2 and PS1 completely dominated the market. Nintendo and Sony were just lucky that they weren't as broke as Sega already or Sony would have a 100% monopoly on consoles. These opinions have not been proven innacurate, on the contrary, they're a lot more accurate than most of the rumors we get around here.
BTW, I dugg you up +2 just so people could see your comment. - SPARTACVS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Here's all the future games I PLAN on getting:
Alan Wake
Army of Two
Bioshock
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
Call of Duty 3
Cellfactor
The Darkness
Dark Sector
F.E.A.R.
F.E.A.R. 2
Forza Motorsport 2
Fuzion Frenzy 2
Gears of War
Half Life 2 (TF2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Portal)
Halo 3

Need for Speed Carbon
Star Trek: Legacy
Stranglehold
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas
Being an Xbox gamer is alot harder than it used to be... at least for the wallet. I'm not complaining about the price of 360 games, I'm just saying that there's SOOO many quality titles coming out in the near future. - zwerdlds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10ALL THREE CONSOLES ARE GOING TO HAVE A CRITICAL MASS INSTALL BASE. This doesn't matter! Chances are you're going to enjoy the console you buy, so don't worry about it. This is of course unless you're one of the extreme hardcore gaming people, in which case it wont matter either because you're probably going to end up buying all three anyways.
American consumerism at its finest. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16LOTS of games does not mean lots of GOOD games....
go wii60! - iluvatar, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16i do believe the 120 number, but we're going to need a better source than Phil Harrison; he's the same guy who said there were over a hundred blu-ray titles available too
- AmazingAndrex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7On Exclusives, also make a graph for the % of games of the library that are exclusive.
- mikevickrocks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8http://www.duggmirror.com/gaming_news/Number_of_Next_Gen_Games_in_Development_for_PS3_360_and_Wii/
- MSX4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Killer Instinct isn't even announced people, just rumored.
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9"We can assume that the same applies to the other 2 consoles so the ratio is probably the same."
Im on my 4th PS2. My launch Xbox and Gamecube still work fine. - staticneuron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Only 134 Wii games are confirmed in development the rest are rumored. And that wikipedia entry for the 360 does not specify which games are actually in development and which ones are announced, even though it admits there are both on the list. The PS3 list is also not very specific either.
- LightsOut06, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12if you take the 106 million consoles sold and divide them by three they would still be in the lead by about 10 million over the gamecube.....
lol - EochaidRiata, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12"Console Install Base"
That is the number of consoles sold, not the install base. I am on my third PS2 and most people I know are on at least their second. - kitsonk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Doesn't mean that they will port them over to the other platforms... Exclusive would be contractually bound titles that will be sold as "only on..."
- staticneuron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It may not be biased but the wiki lists arent created the same way. The wii list clearly states which games are confirmed in development and which ones are not. The PS3 and 360 list do not do that. The 360 list even states that its lists are a mix of both. The numbers posted up on the graph are as it is shown on the wiki lists. They have not taken into account the "announced" games on the Wii list and they don't aknowledge that thier 360 list is most likely a combination of both in dev and announced. If you are going to put up announced games for both the 360 and the Wii why not do it for the PS3? Just because the bias is subtle, it doesn't mean that it isn't there at all.
- ReCkLeSsX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Does this site like publishing unconfirmed things about Sony or is it just me?
We still don't have hard evidence of every game coming out. The 360 has so many games exclusive to it because it's the only next gen game console on the market.
It seems like a fairly unaccurate summary, especially when most of the information was compiled from Wikipedia. - Goosey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@Cougaboy
Actually XNA framework currently is only useful for Arcade-style games, as it relies on the .NET framework which isn't suitable for AAA titles. All those dual-launches were not quite as simple as the XNA 'drop and go'. That being said 360 and PC still share far more similarities then PS3 and especially the Wii. - SirPoonga, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Also he has links to press releases, other than the count which is all wikipedia (in turn most references in wiki are ign). How is it inacurrate? Do you have proof it is inacurrate?
- Universe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Dragon Quest IX on the Wii is just a rumor from EGM's quarterman.
- distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Bioshock was confirmed at E3
- saudama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The list is incomplete. How did I know? There's no Zelda in the Wii section (and God only knows how many others they've missed)
- KrazyKoala, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5When was Ninja Gaiden 2 confirmed? I know they will make it, but was it even announced for 360, can someone gimme a source about this?
- SimonX314, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Don't you think it's odd that a game that is exclusively available to the Xbox 360, a game that was heavily used to hype the PS3, is now not mentioned at all on EAs website?
Don't you think it's odd that joystiq's article about 200 PS3 games in the works for the PS3 only provides a list of 163 titles? - apoc06, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://www.ps3land.com/article-419.php
this article lists a different number of exclusive titles for the ps3 at least. this story is more than likely inaccurate since the data was pulled from wikipedia. if the ps3 data is inaccurate, im sure that the other console data is inaccurate as well. there is a big disclaimer at the top of the wikipedia page that says: Some information in this article or section has not been verified and may not be reliable.
also, is it me or is the list of cancelled ps3 games below the story BS? listing oblivion as a cancellation? listing killing day as a cancellation because they havent heard any recent info on it?!?! odd... - rewquio, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6You can't assume that because the consoles do actually vary in quality from each other. I got a first batch Gamecube and it is still going with no problems. I got a first batch PS2 and it was dead after 7 months. That is not a representative sample by any means, but I keep hearing similar stories. I haven't actually ever heard of a Gamecube breaking. That doesn't mean that it doesn't happen and maybe someone will reply and tell me theirs broke, but if that happens it'll be the first I've heard about it.
- SimonX314, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5If you have found innaccurate information from wikipedia you can perform a great service to the internet community by personally correcting that information on the wikipedia website. Remember to include your sources.
- sych0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Theres over 5000 ps2 games?
..wow - caliyankee, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Aww, somebody needs a nap. You're just cranky because mommy didn't pack your juice box in today's lunch.
- MSX4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There were other current gen version of Fight Night 3, so it was never exclusive. Also, the PS3 version is not cancelled, but if you went by EA's site to be presumptuous, then you'd think that Wii and Revolution are two different consoles. And they have no listings for the PS3 at all. That doesn't mean that all their announced games have been canned.
On a related topic, From just opened their Armored Core 4 page with only a PS3 listing, but they've officially stated that the release date for the 360 version is TBA. It would be flat out absurd to conclude that the game is cancelled because of the site doesn't list it, wouldn't it? - SirPoonga, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Depends on how you look at it. For example, even though BF2 is on the PC, the 360 version is quite abit different. Really, it just shares the same name but is not the same game. Also if you are only comparing just these console systems then it is fine to say they are exclusive.
- SimonX314, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4If you would like to see sources other than wikipedia, simply click on the wikipedia links and read the articles. Nearly every game on the wikipedia pages has a reputable source such as IGN, which link to official announcements. If you don't see a source you are free to provide one. If you see an error you are free to correct it.
- MSX4, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Someone commented already on your inaccuracy of your "Console" exclusives listed for the 360 (which includes a good number of multiplatform games). There is about 18 of them.
However, your Wii list contains a few as well. Namely Dragon Quest XI that hasn't been announced or hinted at; it's going to be on the largest user base in Japan in a few years. PilotWings isn't announced yet, and The Simpsons is also on the 360. - dharm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8wii is looking solid...
but the only problem i see with the graphs are that the xbox360 and ps3 lists on wiki have not been updated in a while (ps3 was updated in july, not sure for xbox360... but they are both missing recently announced titles) - SimonX314, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The list of console exclusives only lists which games are exclusive among CONSOLES.
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6For all the systems:
It's called backwards compatibility. - tknaught, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I suppose the first thing that screamed "inaccurate" to me was the listing of Dragon Quest IX as a Wii exclusive. I think that people who understand the games industry know that would be huge news for the Japanese market....if it were true.
When I see such a glaring error, I have to think that the data for these graphs came from an unconfirmed source and was not thoroughly editted. - MasterSharma, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3damn it feels good to be a gamer
- fupresti, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Killer Instinct for XBOX 360? Is this a Rare title? Is it an update of the SNES version or completely new?
- Willmonwah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2to develop I mean, damn
- Cougaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You have to remember though, that with the XNA framework, games developed for 360 or PC will be able to almost directly port over to the other platform, so it will probably be rare to see any "exclusive" 360 games because of that ease of interoperability.
- SPARTACVS, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5IMO it's great that the 360 is getting alot of new IPs and not just sequels.
- Sukino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Exclusive in comparison with the other 2 consoles.
- psbpv3o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm getting a ps3 and wii combo. But truthfully the ps3 games look the best. Price might be a factor....
- MSX4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1NG2 wasn't announced per se, but it has been said to be in early R&D stages (by Tecmo's Tomonobu Itagaki)
