- Kbiscu1t, on 10/11/2007, -1/+46Wow, after years the community still continues to exploit PSP. I think everything that can be done has been done on the PSP! Theres nothing left to do but keep creating exploits so everyone can do everything! Homebrew has made the PSP one of the greatest systems ever, and half of the owners don't even know the capabilities!!
- merc25, on 10/11/2007, -1/+39This is freaking amazing.
- cesarandreu, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21Now there's a reason for more people to buy a PSP. This exploit works with one of the greatest PSP games out there, so no loss. My question is this: "Does is have kernel access?" For those of you who don't know this would help determine if you can play things like ISO's or not.
- Archarios, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19I've seen these guys crack PSP firmwares time and time agian. Bravo my friends.
- MatchStick, on 10/11/2007, -4/+19PSP= best system EVER
great games, video playback on one of the best portable LCDs ever made, music player, web browser, rss feeds, pic viewing, and HOMEBREW (emulates nes, snes, atari, genesis, gbc, gba, n64, ps1; play ISOs of psp games; etc.)
Lumines FTW !!!!!111!!!111!one!one!!11!
btw, who else got 999,999 in the challene mode and over 100 deleted in 60 seconds? (my record is 103) - cesarandreu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15The PSP is so much more then playing the games that are made for it. It emulates almost all (if not all) the consoles that are from the PS1 and before that. The only one that is going a bit slow is still the N64 and even now it has picked up speed quite a bit. If you want to play current games as well as all the classics on the god you can get a PSP. Also, please people, don't start saying that the PSP is only good for homebrew because it actually does have many good games. Let's not go over this again.
- NetLinker, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15So, people be sure to grab a version of Lumines before Sony patches it!!!
- distrbnce, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15If you don't have Lumines you don't have a PSP.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14hkgjbcxgzf holy freaking god
i spilled my coffee all over myself when i read the title - InfamousX241, on 10/11/2007, -5/+16Homebrew on the PSP is ***** spectacular. Buy one before 3.60 comes out!
- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11I'm happy with my Dark Alex's custom firmware right now. I guess this will help people who dont have that privilege though.
- Airjuggernaut, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Haha Wow, I remember the good'ol'days of the PSP Homebrew Scene, when 2.0 was first hacked with the TIFF exploit, that was pretty amazing at the time.
Now this is awesome, its kinda similar to the 2.5/2.6 Gamesave Exploit with GTA:LCS.
Good Job to whoever Found the Exploits! - jmp478, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8It can't brick your psp because the exploit doesn't write to the flash...
- andyrobo60, on 10/11/2007, -0/+72 weeks from now the latest psp news will be sales of Lumines sky rocket.
- parkermauney, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8There will be a downgrader in no time, allowing you to get 1.50, which then allows you to upgrade to 3.40 OE-A, which can in turn play iso's.
- MatchStick, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6they WILL have that privilage...after they downgrade
- murder1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6You can have a EU or US version of Lumines, they are working on making a Japanese version.
It works from 1.00 to 3.50. - leetdood, on 10/11/2007, -7/+13It does have good games, but it's just not as bitchin' as the DS.
- JWCrease, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9ok great, where's the ps3 hacks?
- planetsweet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I presume we are talking about Lumines 1 and not Lumines 2?
- FatherG, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5You'd be better off getting a copy of Lumines /now/ instead of waiting for the downgrader. Just look at how hard its become to find an unpatched copy of GTA: LCC.
- Dorepoll, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Wow. Now, to redownload my old SCUMM games. The first time I ever played Full Throttle was on a PSP, so it's nice that I can keep Lucasartsing on the train.
- tomi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Though you have a point, you're getting buried for your terrible attitude.
- Trax91, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4AMEN! PSP is one thing of the few that Sony got it right.
- nielkie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4There's PMP MOD. It plays the .PMP videos, which are just a remuxed DivX or Xvid videos.
- loganhid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Now is a great time to get a PSP. Its had a price drop and with this great news, you won't be disapppointed
- bergur1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4@ Jacktheripper
I know lots of people who have bought a PSP only to find it with the latest firmware.
As for me I still have mine on custom firmware BUT I am glad I kept my Lumines UMD, that game is the greatest. - tomi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You *might* want to get that checked out...
- parkermauney, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4There's xvid4psp, which flawlessly codes full size xvid encoded files to psp compatible format. There are also many other media players, too many to list.
- Mirokoth, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Best news I have heard for the psp since I heard you could run homebrew!!
- FreePlayPSP, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Because they certainly didn't do it for GTA: Liberty City Stories!
... oh, wait. - StickWST, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3The good ol days was kxploit, which allowed homebrew to be played on 1.5 with two eboot folders.
- fillmore, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The respective answers are NO and YES. Downgrade to 1.50 first, then upgrade to custom firmware.
- distrbnce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Factually, The new Lemmings was developed by Team17. Though I believe it's a Sony property now. It was always published by Psygnosis, which is now Sony's Liverpool Studio.
- korn91313, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22 weeks, try a couple of hours
http://www.destructoid.com/psp-firmware-exploit-found-in-lumines-sales-jump-5900-on-amazon-33690.phtml - Airjuggernaut, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I doubt pspupdates.com will go down, its a pretty big website.
- fillmore, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2PSP users upgrade because the latest UMD games keep requiring newer firmwares to function.
- Zoids, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You have 1.5 STILL? Get your PSP a custom firmware, NOW.
- naonao, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4I like the PSP purely for the absolutely perfect PSX emulation. Brilliant for packing a 2GB memory stick full of PSX ISO's compressed.
- micro506, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2FNORD
- tomi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I love being easily able to report spam...
- Kbiscu1t, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2yeah, pspupdates is a really strong site!
- CrazedGeek, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Is Ubisoft even still making Lumines discs?
- FreePlayPSP, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yes. It came out as a Platinum Collection edition recently, or something like that. Same game content, new packaging, lower price.
- miquonranger031, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Works PERFECTLY!!!!!! :D Even on a TA-082, no bricking or errors.
- Philbert, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Because it's not a PSP
- phoomp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Also, the recent upgrade for higher quality video playback was probably tempting to alot of non-homebrew users.
- Audiophile27, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2finally man ive been waiting for this
- Philbert, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Homebrew or not, you'll not be disappointed. I mean, it is a PSP after all.
- Philbert, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Or you could just pick up a PSP and a copy of Lumines now and have a great time playing. I know I do.
