- debian_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"cool, but i still honestly think that if you're over 21 yrs. old and really brags on Nintendo DS to your peers than there's something wrong with you! If they just say it's cool, then that's cool. But if they say Nintendo DS or even the revolution is their thing, then man, you gotta start stayin out of your mama's milk."
If you're over 21 and care about what your peers think about the system you use for self entertainment, you have maturity issues. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3+digg for not linking to a ***** blog post.
- Sirocco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I'm just wondering how badly drawn commercials of squirrels acting like dumb urban vagrants is supposed to make me want to buy a PSP. Until then, long live the DS!
- sych0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you're over 21 and still can't get first grade spelling and grammar down you shouldn't be telling others what to think :)
- Pxtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@staticten
Yes, because choosing games based on their enjoyability is way, way less mature than playing games based on how much blood, *****, and machineguns there are in it.
Meanwhile, you can go back to playing the next PS2 FPS that "just might be the Halo Killer". - enforcerpsu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+225 here. I play my DS all the time. I am not surprised by this news. I am glad to hear it. Of course all the microsoft and sony fanbois will say the DS is a kiddie system and rehash some old jokes.
I enjoy all the systems and I think its foolish to call one system an "adult" system and another a "kiddie" system. - o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm not the least bit surprised. The Nintendo DS is an incredible system. In fact, I now consider it my primary gaming platform, taking a backseat to both my Xbox and my Gamecube.
Additionally, Mario Kart DS is easily a killer app for the system, as its one of the best Mario Kart games ever made AND it allows for free on-line play.
Finally, I'd like to say that I'm 28, and I'm proud to be seen playing my DS in public. Why would I be ashamed to own such a great gaming console? Now if I was caught playing a PSP in public, then I'd feel like a moron.... - computerdan000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2PSP:
*P*aperweight *S*imilar to *P*laystation - jfair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Animal Crossing contains crack. You've been warned.
@staticten I'm over 21 and have a DS. Yes, I feel like a tool when I'm playing on the subway. - admirabumblebee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+123 here with home, family, car and my own business. I play my ds constantly. The games are simply good games. Who cares what the graphics look like if you spend half your time swearing at the screen.. I rather spend my time laughing at some guy in mario and luigi using 13375p34k lol.
I've owned 2 psps, one hacked and one not, a DS and nearly every video game system from the last 20 years... ds is my favorite system of them all. - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well it's the only system out right now i'm actually excited about getting. I still haven't picked mine up because of x-mas and stuff, but i'm sure as hell getting one next pay day.
- atf487, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i got the mk bundle for christmas, and i've been having so much fun. it's backwards compatability with gba means you always have a game to play.
oh, and animal crossing is pretty amazing. - sych0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ya, I just started on the 150cc class. Got gold in 50 and 100, and 2 in 150cc. 150cc is INSANE. ***** flying around, bumping into everyone and everything, dropping from 1st to 7th all cuz you cut that turn short. I love it.
- pomaybo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Best system of 2005 hands down.
PS who?
fanboy out... - Sirocco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Heh... NintendOWNED.
- cryptor6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good for them! And well deserved, the DS is a nice little machine and had better offerings than the home consoles this season.
I'm having Animal Crossing DS withdrawels at work right now... - bwmiller72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I got a DS for Christmas and it rocks! It has games that are just fun, plus you can still play all your old GBA games on it. You can even have a DS and GBA game plugged in at the same time, ready to go. I love that.
I of course have Mario Kart. Best Mario Kart ever!
Competition from the PSP is a great thing, and I was down on the DS at 1st. But Nintendo is still the current handheld king! $250 vs $130 when the cheaper system has more good games? Better rethink things Sony, and fast! - tanxadillo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is an obvious sign of Nintendo's Demise. It's only time before the Big N throws his hat into the ring.
/sarcasm - NidStyles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm still waiting for the DS Hentai games to come out. I mean it has a touch screen! I know it's not mature to think like that, but I can't wait to laugh at the cartoon pr0n that gets it's storyline from where you touch it.
- jimr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bought myself a DS and Mario Kart for my birthday on Dec. 1 and got another for my kids for Christmas. I'm seriously thinking about getting another one so all three of us can race each other on the DS, even though we also have a GameCube with MKDoubleDash.
And the WFC (Wi-Fi) Internet racing is AWESOME. Nintendo got this right, big time. No extra cost for Internet-based multiplayer is a great model that is soooo customer-friendly! - litlmutt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0because the people at microsoft dont have playstations...... and mc donald employees dont eat burger king and a digg user doesnt look at slash dot or delicious
- Krawkun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm not really surprised, it's a great system with some quality games, word gets around.
And what's this with 150cc is all hard? Man I got 3 stars on each cup of each cc(mirror too) PLUS the missions, I was kinda sad there was only 7 mission levels =/ - o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cryptor6: Same here! All day long at work I've been thinking about playing Animal Crossing. I just can't stop playing that game for some reason.
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0staticten: I found new, sealed one for $99, plus $10 shipping and handling on eBay. Also, I've seen used ones at game stores for
- admirabumblebee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0owned! hah
- staticten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0where can i get one for $99?
i've been hearing this from people.......it's like $129.99 at bestbuy...
is that the cheapest one i can find? - galfridus73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm 32, married, we own our own house, I manage a staff of 11 and a budget well into six digits, etc. and I play Mario Kart and Nintendogs. ;)
Oh, and just wait until those of you in 150cc unlock 150cc Mirror. You don't technically "finish" the game until you beat that beastie (but there are still missions to beat, too). - thinksInCode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mario Kart DS is freaking great, I totally agree. Although I still get my ass kicked when I play on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Ah well. Practice, as they say..:)
- japanlover, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0DS always rocked
especially with AC now =D - dnb909, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It took me forever to beat the 150cc class...holy crap
- Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hey...I'm 21 too and would play either Mario Kart, or Mario 64 DS between classes
not sure if I would play Nintendogs in public though... - cmw72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I bought my thirty-year-old wife a pink DS for Christmas (the Nintendogs version) and a copy of Animal Crossing. She loves it!
- stealthboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm 29 and enjoy playing Mario Kart, so there!
- Tufriast, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, seriously, give the consumers what they want - and they will love you.
Quick fast, addictive, and burst gameplaying is what made videogames good! Bring it BACK! And they will come...
This hardcore gaming for 12234230498208 hours straight stuff was someone's ridiculous idea for the PC. - staticten, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0a tool?
anyway, thanks for the reactions.
:-) - xfade, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I went DS crazy this christmas and bought one for myself, my girlfriend, my little bro & sis. 21 years old, and feeling like I'm 6 years old when i first started gaming. Nintendo revived my fascination for gaming with all their good titles. Going nuts on game purchasing.
maro kart, castlevania, bomberman, meteos, phoenix wright, tony hawk. and my sister says animal crossing is full of stuff. - ElectricGrandpa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well as long as we're bragging about our Mario Kart achivements.... I'm 21, and I've got all golds on 150cc mirrored, and double or triple stars on all missions(can't quite get all the triples yet).
- twinmatrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Everyone has to check out Trauma Center: Under the Knife its easily the most underrated ds games ever and it just got discontinued so pick it up fast :)
- jammen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i have one ds and i'm thinking about getting another one. mario kart is damn cool.
- russizm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0great system.
great game.
can't do much else right. (a keyboard to talk to racers during wi-fi would have been nice though)
22. - AttroPheed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0noice
- BunkerHill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm over thirty, just bought the DS and MarioKart, and loving every minute. Except it refuses to see my Netgear WiFi so that sucks.
- LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would just like to add to the "I'm a proud DS owner" discussion. I got the Mario Kart bundle for Christmas along with Kirby (great game), and within the following two weeks, I have bought Nintendogs, Polarium, and Animal Crossing: Wild World. I'm a 21 year old gamer and a recently re-converted Nintendo Fanboy. The DS games are amazing, and if you can get your hands on AC:WW anytime soon, I'd highly recommend it. Heck, my girlfriend bought a DS the other day just for that game. +digg
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Apperently, Target has (had) them for $99 during December. I'm not sure if the price went back up, though.
- ocanica, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm 22, got a DS and 5 games sitting in my living room along side my other consoles. The DS rock easily one of the best consoles ever made but only second to the dreamcast.
- cyberfelon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm 20 years old and loving my DS. Like others have said, I feel like a kid again with the rush of great titles. Now I find myself not buying games for other systems so I have more money for DS games and more time to play what I've already got. I never thought I would end up preferring a handheld to the GameCube/Xbox/PS2. This is why I think the Revolution will come out on top in the next gen. DS is succeeding for the same reasons the Revolution will succeed.
- litlmutt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I work for "N" and want to say , not that I am a fan boy, it rocks I have a psp and it mostly collects dust. Mario Kart is sweet and I wish I can find someone to beat my ghost.....my animal crossing is on right now....... damn you nook!
- doctornkul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I work for "N" and want to say , not that I am a fan boy, it rocks I have a psp"
You supposedly work for Nintendo but you have a psp. Somehow I find that unlikely. - mrs279, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm 24 and love the DS.
I bought the teal Nintendogs bundle and sold the game on ebay before Christmas. It went for $65.
If that doesn't say something about demand for this game and this system, I don't know what does. - Cerberus047, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0my friends all got psps and laughed if i even talked about a ds so i said screw that and i finnally bought that and its awesome!!!! mkds is soo awesome and online is great (nothing beats free!!) its a great system that you should pick up and for that guy who said that they should have henati for the ds i think they do... i read it a couple of weeks ago on digg.......
