(The PS2 would be at about the 29 million mark.) If you count PS2 sales after its' NA/EU release (and also after manufacturing problems got ironed out), then after the same point in time the PS2 sold some 46 million more.
35 million in two years is ***** phenominal, though. No two ways about it.

It allows backwards GBA compatibility, the screen brightness is amazing, and the battery life is LONG. I'll admit side by side the PSP looks better, and easier to use. I challenge anyone to play both the PSP and the DS and say the PSP is better.

I have a ds cause, well someone bought it for me as a present otherwise i would of never gotten either. as for the psp, i do steal it away from my house mate every once in a while cause it does have a couple fun games like lumines and katamari. but nothing does beat mario kart and wario ware

And before anyone thinks I'm just collecting them: bought one originally for the twelve year old. Then the four year old got a hold of New Super Mario... well, the twelve-year-old's DS quickly became infested with toddler slime and cheeto crumbs. So, got another one for the twelve-year-old, but then EBA came out. Now mom and dad need a DS too. It's all good though.
