- kuj007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+84That's Will Smith... in a prior life he had a music career and was also known as the Fresh Prince, along with his trusty DJ, Jazzy Jeff, they had a little hit called "Parent's Just Don't Understand". That picture is a screencap from these things called "videos" (which I guess means songs should have been called "audios" but they weren't) on a television station called MTV. From what I understand a station still exists by that name, but I'm positive its not the same one from back in they day... on that one, the M stood for Music I believe.
I'll leave the remaining associations as an exercise for the reader.
HTH young fella ;) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25"Brick" means that it renders the hardware unusable. I should know, I've bricked a few routers in my day. ;)
- ksponge, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29If it's a kiddie system, why do I at 31 love the system. I'm probably just a kid mentally I guess. But wait, I have 2 kids of my own. And I work for a living. Hmm something is wrong with your assumption I think. Oh wait, YOU are the kid. I understand, now it makes sense.
- sam10685, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24wii needs a Mii channel update... more features please.
- livesNbox, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21It's shooting some b-ball out-sida of the school....
marksy just don't undastand... - Mitaphane, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Yawn...wake me when you browse the internet with the Wii.
- Jchen1986, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19seriously, "coming soon" doesn't exactly sound promising when they even gave a date for the weather channel that is TWO months away.
- viruselectriko, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17i read that this update bricks the shop browser hack
- tehJR, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13How do you send a message? Is it that little red button beside your name? 'Cause that's the one I clicked.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Their is posessive.
- TheTankengine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Wii Weather Channel: Dec 20th 2006
Wii News Channel: Jan 27th 2007 - velvet396, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10you should've copied and pasted that instead of slaughtering it with all your mistakes...
- Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I don't know why I need my gaming system to do things that I can do easier and better other places. I've got a computer, I've got cable TV. I can get news, weather and the internet better and easier than I can on my console.
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12It does. People are trying to get around their block though, and one of the possible methods seems very doable. Expect to see another story hit the front page about it within a week or so. By the time they release another update bricking the new method, I bet the opera browser will be out so nobody will care anymore. People are only doing it because the damn opera browser isn't available yet!
- seneyr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10At least they're saying upfront what their update does... More than you can say for Sony
- o0joshua0o, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Patience, young Skywalker.
- cnmsales, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14Right, so out of all the things they could update they decide to go with parental controls? Great now all the 12 yr olds will be able to further lock there parents out of there system. Ahh well, I wish they would release opera already.
- TheTankengine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8DocWhoWho:
Are you the same DoctorWho that I blocked a few months ago for your idiotic rants on why "Apple is teh sux!"? Perhaps you have switched your attention to consoles now?
Well, I guess I won't be getting a response, since I'm going to block you in just a few seconds anyway.
Have a good life being an *****! - drlha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Jeez. At least you have a Wii. If it were me I'd stop complaining about all the ancillary stuff and enjoy Wii Sports, Zelda etc. If I want to know the weather I have both a TV and a Laptop.
- nyrol2, on 10/12/2007, -14/+20It's because it is a parental control update. The specific song by Will Smith just relates to it. Dumbass.
- squison, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Even if a system was near-perfect and everyone loved it, people are going to complain if they find one thing wrong with it. And not just complain, it'll be the most important thing ever and it must be fixed NOW because I'm the paying customer!!!! If you don't believe me, spend 5 minutes reading the WoW message boards. Not saying WoW is anywhere near perfect, but, damn, those people bitch constantly.
- Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7I want to get rid of that annoying "Today" thing that says how long I've played. I'm 33 years old and have no one to answer too, but I still would like the ability to delete it.
- r3m1x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3dude, did you see Rare's take on the "Massive Damage" joke in Viva Pinata?
Like what K.Rose said, I like how these companies are talking smack about each other this generation. - cds879, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4To send pictures, you will need to first add your outside email address to the Wii address book. This will send a confirmation message to your email, to which you must reply. After that, you can send pictures back to your Wii, which will appear in the photo channel.
- ICSU, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I know what you mean, but it's plural in that example as well. Their used instead of his or her.
- UnclePunk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped,
turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called bel-air
In west philadelfia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys that we’re up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said "you’re moving with your aunte and uncle in bel-air"
I whistled for a cab and when it came near
the License plate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought naw forget it, "yo homes to bel-air!"
Pulled up to the house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby "yo, homes smell you later"
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To settle my throne as the prince of bel-air - cmdrNacho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4bad nintendo .. please don't follow in Sony's footsteps.. please embrace the community, because if Nintendo can't provide the functionality to allow people something they promised(yet) .. then allow people with creative solutions to enhance the functionality of your product. It only adds value.
- squison, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Actually, the Wii has the weather update already built in. That's why in Wii Sports it reminds you to pause the game and go outside.
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Make sure your sensor bar is all the way up to the edge of whatever it's sitting on. Sometimes the edge of the TV or shelf can block the wiimote from seeing it.
- loof, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I don't really care about browsing the web on a Wii. As it'll be maybe 20 feet from my computer which will make the pages look a lot nicer.
- TheGilmanator, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7And plural.
- MartyMcFly713, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This post missed another vital part of the update:
http://www.digg.com/gaming_news/Wii_Update_last_night_killed_the_internet_hack - rebz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1technically what happened was a security issue and a bug, it was only right for nintendo to release the fix. the browser will be coming out, its not like people are adding a feature that doesn't exist, they're enabling a feature that will exist within the next few weeks.
- Technopope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not entirely.
Nintendo didn't tell you this update prevents the hack of using the Wii Store browser as a web browser. Expect any hack of the Wii to be quickly squashed just as Sony has tried with the PSP. - SuperCUBE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Duplicate story
- cmdrNacho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1could be the batteries are dying on you .. happened to me as well, around the time i needed to replace them.
- mojorojoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This update also protects your Wii from PS3's on the internet trying to induce "Massive Damage"
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You need to initiate the update process yourself.
- Marthinus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Your control is broken, take it back.
- Freshboydaleada, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Alright, how do u get different levels on wii sports??
- Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Never had a problem with dropping. The nunchuck started auto moving once, but I've had that happen with the N64 and GC several times.
- Marthinus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4@Jchen1986
I want a Ferrari, seems we are both out of luck. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This update came out last night, and I was going to post about it but I was SURE it would end up being a dupe...naturally, I was wrong.
- xippilli, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I think I just got Bel-Air'd...
- SmackMyMac, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Does anyone elses wii Remote drop connection after a little bit of playing with this update? Mine is doing it and It didn't until I updated.
- r3m1x, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I know the Wii isn't an entertainment box like the X360 or PS3 but c'mon...where the hell is the CD and DVD playback? The Dreamcast can play music CDs, for the life of me Nintendo, throw me a frickin' bone.
- DigitalPirate, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3When will nintendo enable the Weather Channel?
Can anyone possibly tell me how do I send a picture to my wii via the message boards that are reference to from the wii photo channel. I have been unable to figure this out, because on the msg boards I don't see a feature to upload an image. - N1XUK, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Just put up my wii uk preorder for sale on my uni message board for cost....
Now all nintendo have to do is release some crazy ds related update and im keeping that bad boy.
Also anyone have any links about the wii message board etc? youtube etc? - mliving, on 10/12/2007, -13/+7WTF Nintendo! What happened to my out-of-the-box News and Weather?
These channels shouldn't even appear until they are available. Their placeholders are especially confusing for first time gamers or the 70's crowd that Nintendo is trying so hard to lure into gaming.
And we were told that Connect24 did updates and stuff "automagically" it seems to do nothing more than track my WiiSports and other gaming habits which does NOTHING for me but I'm sure Nintendo's evil marketing dept. has plans for all that raw data. Of course at consumers expense.
Still can't browse on my Wii either. For christ sakes, are we to believe that the market is so competitive that participants have to rush incomplete products out the door in the hopes that feature IOUs will build their customer base? Pretty *****' stupid if you ask me. And made even worse by their own hype! - Marthinus, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2@DocWhoWho
It seems you have a hobby of making cracks at the Wii fanboys, quite funny actually. -
