- inactive, on 11/14/2007, -1/+32Starcraft is coming to DS?
- UNL1M1T3D, on 11/14/2007, -2/+20Best of luck to them, but this is probably going to be as effective as using panty hose as a condom.
- edicius, on 11/13/2007, -2/+16That's what she said.
- allan17, on 11/14/2007, -1/+13Nicely put.
- jerwong, on 11/14/2007, -1/+12I hope this isn't used as an excuse to attack homebrew.
- Yage2006, on 11/14/2007, -0/+10I was just on gamespot looking up info on a ds game and noticed a add by google for the R4 revolution.
Found that a little odd :) - lime148, on 11/13/2007, -0/+4And Wii third party devs are already doing that!
- UNL1M1T3D, on 11/13/2007, -0/+4Thanks. I do what I can.
- TangentThought, on 11/13/2007, -0/+3Hrmm... Now I'm really curious.
- bacio, on 11/13/2007, -1/+3hmm thinking about it, starcraft on the ds could turn out pretty good.the stylus should do a decent job to replace the mouse. although we'd lose hotkeys
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Agreed.
- phrawgh, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2I live in the boondocks, there are at least 5 places selling bogus Nintendo, M$ products and DVD's. within 2 blocks. As far as being hard to find, in downtown Seoul at the Electronics market, the crap is ubiquitous.
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Nintendo does this and suddenly everyone is anti-piracy. If any other company did this, be it Apple, Sony, or Microsoft, you people would be up in arms. Try and rationalize it all you want, this is hypocrisy at it's finest.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Won't feel nearly as good though, I'm sure.
- bightchee, on 11/13/2007, -0/+2Because I have a hacked PSP.
- h4mx0r, on 11/13/2007, -1/+3Hell, it's about time.
- KibibyteBrain, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2And, they are pretty good about updates to the software compared to the competition. Moonshell for the DS isn't going to compete with the iPod or the Zune as a mobile video platform, but if you want to get away with A/V on the go for no money, it works.
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1It is and has been for years. Where have you been?
- mRIpX, on 11/13/2007, -2/+3steve jobs
- mRIpX, on 11/13/2007, -1/+2opera has all this built in
- Cyber_Akuma, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1"Nintendo Korea has issued a request to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office to look into the case after previous demands to remove the copied games were ignored.
"Nintendo will take further measures if copyright violations continue," said the company, according to Financial Times. "
So basically:
Nintendo: "We told them 'please stop' but they ignored us. So we are planning to say 'please please stop' and hope they don't ignore us again."
Glad I got my R4 and 3in1 yesterday... - s0nicfreak, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1My word, pirating devices on the streets of Akihabara?!?!??! Why, who ever heard of such a thing! I am shocked, and quite impressed that you too have been to Akihabara.
- hockey, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1Right on. It's fanboyism. Honestly what else DID you expect?
- expatcatalyst, on 11/13/2007, -0/+1"Nintendo Korea has issued a request to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office to look into the case after previous demands to remove the copied games were ignored." Just like the Japanese have ignored all their atrocities throughout history!
- cwl157, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1haha
- row1, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0Last month I saw a R4 revolution in one of the main streets of Akihabara, that was also very odd ... unless it was a setup for a sting.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akihabara - bubbaislazy, on 11/13/2007, -0/+0I'm not surprised but it's going to be a challenge. If it's anything like it was when I was there several years ago, Nintendo will have their work cut out for them. I was stationed in Korea in 2000-2001, during that time it was nothing to get pirated copies of popular Playstation games. The shops in the Youngsan Electronics Market would even chip your console for about 20 bucks. Games cost about $5 a piece. The same went for the Dreamcast.
These same stores sold bootleg cartridges of various games from different consoles. You could even buy bootleg consoles! N64 bootlegs were harder to come by on the other hand. You could get NES and SNES games easily, my favorite were the "40-1" carts.
Same thing happened when the PS2 was out. Although the Japanese release was months before the US release, I didn't start seeing them being sold till after the US release. Even some would sell chipped consoles and pirated games, in English, were readily available to appeal to the US soldiers. - h4mx0r, on 11/13/2007, -1/+1What superhero would help microsoft?
- heizusan, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0How many hot keys do you really need in a given situation? Contextual keys for the d-pad or abxy buttons. It could work.
- heizusan, on 11/14/2007, -0/+0Dugg for topical hilarity.
- rick2k, on 11/13/2007, -3/+2I have heard pretty much every store bundles a stick for playing the game roms with the actual DS itself. bad problem!
- daizaru, on 11/13/2007, -2/+1Will Nintendo be Korea's version of the RIAA? More news at 10.
The DS is pretty easy to pirate games for, I kind of expected some sort of crackdown eventually. Hopefully it iwll be something more with the roms and not eliminating the homebrow. - SethGuy, on 11/13/2007, -3/+2wow...didnt think they would go that far...
Will they now start trying to take away the Action Replay for ds? or is that a different matter? - bluemist, on 11/13/2007, -2/+1While the rest of the (Asia-Pacific) region has pirated GameCube games re-packaged as Wii games.
- croxor, on 11/13/2007, -3/+0it's about time
- KyleGoetz, on 11/13/2007, -7/+4Antipiracy comments? On /my/ Digg?
It's more likely than you think!
09-f9-11-02-9d-74-e3-5b-d8-41-56-c5-63 wut? - mRIpX, on 11/13/2007, -6/+20/10, try harder next time
- davidrools, on 11/13/2007, -6/+2In other news, Microsoft is cracking down on pirated copies of Crackdown
- mRIpX, on 11/13/2007, -10/+5good
- vanalmelo, on 11/13/2007, -5/+009 f9 FTW!!
May 1, 2007, never forget... - vanalmelo, on 11/13/2007, -9/+13st!
