- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -6/+32@CoolDude330: You're spot on. It's no coincidence that I reported 2 inaccurate stories as being inaccurate. I bow before your staggering powers of deduction.
What the hell is an "exclusive rumour"? Is that supposed to qualify as news? That's called "one guy makin ***** up" where I come from. - KyleRayner, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29I absolutely agree. They need to launch well before the PS3, then advertise hard (1/2 for kids, 1/2 for parents/adult gamers) all the way through X-Mas.
This is going to be a good year for gamers. :) - faulkner, on 10/12/2007, -5/+29this is Nintendo, not M$.
- furtwan1, on 10/12/2007, -6/+27Sounds about right. If they launch before the ps3 many people will buy the Wii instead...if they dont, many will buy the Wii, but those that got a PS3 might decide they've already spent their share on consoles for the holiday.
- McGrude, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24"Buy a Wii, because you don't have to get a second mortgage to buy one!"
That would be a reasonable statement to make in commercials for the Wii. - timmyboywonder, on 10/12/2007, -6/+25I'm tired of people posting crap like this that is linked to a blog. PLEASE do not post rumors on digg. People need to wait until its made official by Nintendo before posting this here.
- soundsofreason, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19I hope the Wii gives Nintendo another golden age.
- flizzoyd, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16Nintendo hasn't been very good at advertising their products in mainstream media lately though.
- Spastastic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I have no problem personally with rumors, I'm just getting sick of people making posts about rumors and making the headlines sound definitive in nature just to lure more people into their digg. It's annoying.
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17Wow. How many false stories like this have to reach the front page before we admit that digg is broken?
- posure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I don't think Nintendo has to do anything..Sony is already killing PSP with their crappy commercials with slogans like "PSP: It's like watching carpet outside."
My guess is that before the end of the year we will see an actual Sony commercial saying "PS3: It's like selling your left nut for BetaMax." - krazyman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Sound great, but this date can still change.
- giantrobot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Damn. I have to continue to see a new Wii article on digg and slashdot every day until November?
"NEWSFLASH: Wii controller can be used for self gratification"
"NEWSFLASH: Wii will also be called Wii in China"
"NEWSFLASH: Wii will cost $205.955 American -- Analysts"
"NEWSFLASH: AJAX on Wii -- a tutorial"
"NEWSFLASH: Wii has no plans to run Vista -- take that, M$!"
"NEWSFLASH: White House press secretary says President plans to invade Wii"
This may actually cure me of my addiction to geeknews. If I hear much more about Wii, AJAX or Google, I am going to spontaneously combust. - Cojawfee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8You can undigg by going into your profile. There is a list of all the things you have dugg, and next to the report drop down menu is an undigg link.
- Daedalus81, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12And where is the offical notice of the price being $250 again?
- SocialPoison, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Nobody believes the official spokesman... but everybody trusts an unidentified source.
~~Ron Nesen - timmyboywonder, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Totally agree with you Bloodjunkie. People are simply using Digg for a free blog promotion. something needs to be done about it. :(
- dWhisper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I always wonder about things with a factual title, but contain words like "rumor" and "from what we've heard."
I can't wait for the Wii, but I tire of the endless speculation. Next article... "Wii to come with different Ice Cream Flavors at Launch!" - TrainwreckX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Right, it hasn't been officially stated "Wii will cost $250," Nintendo just said it won't cost any MORE than that. Remember that they have officially announced the price only in Japan (about $220 US dollars). Typically the price is always a little LESS in the US than Japan, so I would say that $200 is a better bet.
In any case, I don't feel this is an acurate source of news either. Take it with a grain of salt. - Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9What the guy before me said. STOP POSTING RUMOURS/PLACEHOLDER DATA!!!
Oh great. Two completely ***** Wii articles on the front page today. I'm a huge fan and all, but this is ridiculous. - TheGeek27, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7A rumor.
Woop de freakin' doo. - nickj6282, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5JFC, man. The title explicitly states the Revolution's release date but then the description says it's basically speculation. I'm getting so damn sick of seeing this garbage on Digg. It's no longer speculation when Nintendo announces it, or at least someone high-up at Nintedo says so. Not when the guy who works at your local GameStop thinks it might be released.
Reported as inaccurate. - LunarOcean, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16Last I checked, Digg was supposed to be a place for news, and not rumors passed as fact.
- Huze, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm skeptical. Per the article snippet on the homepage:
"Rumours are gathering at pace as to when the Nintendo Wii will launch. We have been given some exclusive details that seemingly confirm when the Wii will launch in the USA and the rest of the world."
The words "rumours are gathering" and "seemingly confirm" do not boast an air of confidence. - timmyboywonder, on 10/12/2007, -12/+16Are you retarded Ian ? Digg is not a place for freaking rumors.
- TrainwreckX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Here is what I suspect. Nintendo will have a very large press conference in Seattle or Redmond. They will announce the date, the price, the package, the launch colors, the launch games, any secret features we are missing, a demonstration of the virtual console, a list of games (or number of games) available at launch on VC, and the fact that Sony can lick their collective balls.
That's gonna be a sweet press conference. - redneckblues, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well, if it's Nintendo, then the year is relevant. They delay the hell out of stuff. (For good reasons)
- Alphateam, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Looks like I have to November 7th-10th off of work
- ViperDaimao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3then it would be 70% not 40%
- ripter, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7I have the fix, ready? I'm only going to post it once so don't miss it...
DON'T DIGG/READ/OR POST ON ARTICLES YOU DON'T LIKE!
I hope you didn't' miss that. - deboosher, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7I don't understand why this is under review. Is the source not reliable?
Regardless, I'm getting a Wii, and that's that. - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4You forgot the question mark at the end of your headline...
And anyone else wondering why this is an exclusive to this site? Because it's not proven as true (yet?). Reported as inaccurate. - fmorel90, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3NEWSFLASH: Ajax outdated....replaced by Xaja, a new standard from Google and supported by Nintendo.
*gets out camera to film first ever spontaneous human combustion* - ahmerhussain, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6You're not alone.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Topic should read: Nintendo insider: Wii shooting for Nov. 6 launch
Not: Nintendo Wii to Launch on November 6th in USA
Misleading and innacurate title, not to mention the article is pretty damn unprofessional IMO.
Rumors are lame. No Digg. - BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This is extremely lame. Some assclown posts this rumor as if its factual. Despite that, it makes it to the front page. It's still on the front page as we speak. People then come to digg looking for the most up-to-the-minute news and see this misinformation. Now it's spreading to other blogs and news sources like wild-fire. Nintendo will now have to take time away from making the Wii ***** awesome to debunk your retarded rumours. This is where digg fails.
- krakelohm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Am I the only one a little sick of the 100% of the winers that cry about the PS3/360/Wii/Apple posts that get to the homepage? They are here for a reason, sitdown, shut up, and deal with it.
- Darren07, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lol it's just rumors, some site saying that... absolutely no evidence...
- BloodJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@Nesh, I'm talking about this digg, not the blog post. The title of this digg suggests that it is factual.
- Chort, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Remember, Remember the 6th of November...
- obey43, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2don't forget vista/ubuntu
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No Digg- This article claims a "source" but sounds like speculation to me. The article is also filled with disclaimers that the Nov 6 date is "correct" but not "final." At that, I say, "What?" Doublespeak and inaccurate. I'll wait to see an official Nintendo statement.
- altcountryman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Vanilla Ice is prolly gonna get a Wii.
- TrainwreckX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I would have to believe they want it out in October, gives them more than one week to establish an install base before Sony. By then people are like "I already spent $200, sorry Sony, but I can't spend $600 more."
- trink, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5@BloodJunkie: Every time I see some person jumping to be the first to post something like "reported as inaccurate", I picture that person looking and sounding like Dwight Schrute from The Office. I'm just saying.
http://www.nbc.com/The_Office/bios/Rainn_Wilson.shtml - b-dizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Personally, I don't believe anything anymore except what comes straight from Nintendo's press room. I say their target is probably Nov. 6th, but I'm sure it can go either way depending on how production and game development is coming. They won't release early if titles aren't done, but they won't dare miss the holiday season either.
- TrainwreckX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is correct, and it is April 2007.
- TrainwreckX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Wii is the only system where he can punch and kick the air and it does something.
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3> "NEWSFLASH: Wii will also be called Wii in China"
LOL @ that! Digg for you! I'm also sick of this Wii spam. I also marked this one as innacurate. I really hope that Digg implements keyword filtering. Sure I don't need to click these links but this is just the same as spam filling your inbox. Very annoying. - saska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If they're going to ship 6 million units before the end of the year, I think they need to launch sometime in October.
