- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9My main problem with the Spike TV awards: most of the nominees and winners are products that are released literally DAYS before the award show airs on television, while many of the nominees are announced before anyone gets to even play the ***** games.
My secondary problem with it is the same as my problem with every viewer's choice award -- the product that sells the most is the product that wins. Such awards are NEVER given for merit. It's a popularity contest.
And of course, I have just one more problem, and it's also pretty big: based on this awards ceremony, it is quite obvious that nobody behind this enterprise give a ***** about videogames, the videogame industry, or any aspect of this entertainment medium. The only purpose for this awards show is to get a bunch of celebrities into an auditorium and have a rap concert, while giving a tiny handful of ***** awards right before the commercial breaks. - PhantomTrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8That's cool.

I anticipate that Zelda probably wont win much next year... cause this is a whole year were better games have a chance to come out and steal its awards... sadly... oh well XD
When it comes to awards.. I pay the least attention to these...
I can't respect something that claims to be the awards of a certain year... and then does it before the end of the year... This technology has been around for years, they just innovated it.

My nearest WalMart, Target, ToysRUs and BestBuy are all 50 miles away so it's not too easy to check those stores. I got there early last weekend but they were all sold out. I hang out every day on the Amazon Wii message board for rumors and clues to which stores are going to get them. It's been a frustrating experience. (The latest rumor BTW is that there will be another batch available the 17th.) All these new articles about the Wii just increase demand and are making it harder to get them. People who've never heard of the system turn on the TV and say, hey, we've got to get one o' them, Ma. I wish people would just STFU about the Wii.
