- jackpot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+66NEWSFLASH: People can get hurt doing anything.
- kinesis8, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45I had to look at the picture a second time, but it looks like the paramedics just needed to cut her jeans and roll the remaining flap up making the area look like it was "photoshop'ed."
Anyways, I was under the impression that the characters in Wii Sports move on their own and that all you had to do was swing your arms... - uberbohne, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43I agree, it does look a tad bit PS'ed.
Also the title irritates me to no end. Did the game dislocate her knee? No. This makes it sound like the disc emerged out of the console and attacked her. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35Hehe, look at the paramedics in the first picture, they're all smiling under their mustache..
- StickyShoez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35Sounds to me like the title is wrong....it should read. "Wearing heels causes women to dislocate knee".
- fanboydcs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30well he did edit the picture to put the bars in, so it has been though ps...
- AClayeJ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13When are people going to learn it doesn't take that much motion to play these games.
- NCmedic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13You'd be surprised what people call 911 for.
- Al3x, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13The knee injury looks legit, but the Wii sports on the TV & the Wii on the floor look added into the picture. Fake or not, injuries because of the Wii are bound to start popping up.
- ROFLance, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17a chick that big shouldnt be in high heels to begin with, i'm sure the wii had nothing to do with it.
- nerogtr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11wii didn't cause anything...people with no common sense who engage in physical activity wearing high heals hurt THEMSELVES.
- BigSlacker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I guess the new Internet fad is going to be to photoshop a wii game into the background of accident pictures.
- drewish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7no glare on the screen, the wii is kinda small and not casting any shadows, and where oh where is the sensor bar.... some bitch fell down while doing sweatin' to the oldies...
omg lets all get mad at nintendo for making something that requires movement!! god forbid we do the same for oh you know, Nike, who's shoes are a key piece of equipment in professional football... lotsa ppl get hurt there... these posts are retarded, so are the omg i broke my tv ones... - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7HA! as a member of my town's volunteer ambulance corps, I will have you know that people call the ambulance for a freaking HEADACHE.
I've been on about 40 calls since July, and only about 6 of them have been emergencies. People are stupid. - 4degrees, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6morons, the Wii did not CAUSE this. you dont blame the bicycle when your dumbass falls off of it.
need i say it? inaccurate. commence the burying! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Time to upgrade the manual. "No footwear. No clothing. No nothing. You must be naked when playing with your Wii."
- anitab83, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Sorry about the title ... I just realized how it might sound when I read your comment. Now if the disc really did emerge out of the console and attack her ... THAT would be a story! ;-)
- NCmedic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6A dislocated Kneecap does not always cause reddening of the knee. And if she has had a dislocation before in the same knee then she might not even have any inflammation what-so-ever due to the ligaments and tendons being stretched previously.
- grumbel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I would call this a fake, at least half of it. The injury and the situation looks real, but I don't think it has any relation to the Wii. I can't see a sensor bar in the photo and both the Wii and the content of the TV can be easily inserted via Photoshop. Beside, if you call an ambulance wouldn't you switch of the TV?
- fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5when nintendo stops their commercials with the people jumping around and hiding behind couches and *****
- Shriker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Or another person's Wii. *coughs*
- elitexero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Lesson of the day:
If you're a ***** moron, your knee's about to get ***** up. - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Look at that, she was playing Wii, even though there's no sensor bar above or below the TV!
The Wii sports pic and probably the Wii are both photoshopped in.
As to patellar dislocation, I have a friend who this just happens to. He can be walking down the street and have it happen. It doesn't necessarily require any exertion. - drewish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5i dont think the knee injury is photoshop... i think the tv screen and the existance of the wii is...
- diggtomanjeri, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Exactly. Wii Sports didn't 'cause the accident, stupid chick tool did.
- maiios, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4If you look at the second picture, the shadows are perfect. Granted, that could be photoshopped as well, but this looks real to me. It isn't just a smear effect on her knee.
- leva, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8HAHAHAHAH ah hahahahaha
- Al3x, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Just the Wii and screen on the TV could be PS'd and not the whole image.
- xxNIRVANAxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I doubt it, look at her chest.
- saralk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"And also, why is it that the .0001% of the people who play and get hurt get the publicity."
It may just be me, but "Child has fun playing on Nintendo Wii" doesn't seem like a diggworthy article. - fakesinatra, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6wait...wait....OK I'll be the one to say it.
NINTENDOWNED. - xenocrates, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've been out on 911 calls to people that "just don't feel good" and already have their suitcases packed for the hospital stay.
Once, a frequent flyer called us in code 3 on a "diabetic emergency," when we get there, she calmly states that she feels funny, lies about why the candy wrappers are sitting beside her chair, and when asked if she's taken her insulin that day replies, "No." We helped her with her insulin and left.
People dial 911 for ANYTHING. They think that since they pay taxes they have the right to bother us with crap I wouldn't take to my Walgreen's pharmacist... what they don't realize is that, in this part of the country at least, we are not civil servants - the government doesn't sign our paycheck. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Next on Digg: Bike helmet causes road rash injury!
Sigh. - mca7, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Anyone can dislocate thier knee doing anything...
- Culat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Reminds me of the guy that broke his knee playing Guitar Hero: http://www.guitarherobrokemyknee.com/
Some people really get into their games. - troublemaker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Fake, as most of the other Wii-accident pictures.
1. The Wii is "too visible". Compare it with the surroundings. There's a reflection in the glass door, but it's from something else - not a Wii.
2. When you take pictures of a CRT TV, there's almost _always_ a "flicker stripe" on the picture. This has none.
3. Where's the Wiimote receiver?
I'm guessing she tripped, fell or something, and someone jumped on the "lol teh wii am dangerous!" trend that seems to be going on these days. And I'll be modded down by people who follow this trend and don't want the truth out. - hibachipenguins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2no joke, its crazy how people can get so angry over something as simple as exersize. Why does everyone hate on Nintendo, all they did was make us have fun?
And also, why is it that the .0001% of the people who play and get hurt get the publicity. - aacidusX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2also notice that on the screen the only side without the black border that usually belongs to the tv is the left, and it's too sharp of a cutoff, as if... someone did a cut and paste!
- Stevethegreat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4If your knee dislocates with a little "up 'n down", then you certainly have to start a sport as a hobby or for the name of sweet Mary just make some use of that ***** legs, other than walking to your fridge or car .... generally speaking
- fatham, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2006/11/13
- cheeseylaalaa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3No... Nintendo Wii Sports did not cause Knee Dislocation
Idiots playing wii sports causes knees dislocation. - TrueJournals, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Let's put it this way...: if you take a McDonald's toy and smack yourself in the knee with it so that it dislocates your knee... who's responsible? You? or McDonald's?
Now I know people will say "McDonald's toys aren't meant to be swung around in the air..." Well, the Wiimote isn't supposed to be swung around in the air so that it dislocates your knee. Honestly, the manual says "Only gentle motions are required" RTFM - KickyG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2she was running around in high heels. it could have happened even if she wasn't playing wii sports.
- rampy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you can get OTA (over the air) local DTV/ATSC digital broadcasts using an indoor antenna... what's odd about that? That's the least fishy part of the picture...
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If I just looked at this picture without knowing it supposedly had something to do with some chick getting hurt while playing her Wii I'd have thought she was giving birth or something. Hmm.. New Wii game idea?
- TrueJournals, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2By wiimote reciever... do you mean sensor bar (which does not recieve wiimote signals... the Wii does that... actually, the sensor bar recieves... NOTHING)
Anyway, I was wondering about that too... - saralk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Beside, if you call an ambulance wouldn't you switch of the TV?"
Only if you're watching porn - KyotoWolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The guy in the back is looking up the womans skirt...
- phenolholic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1a picture of a bunch of guys with a video game in the background, and a picture of a dislocated knee, establish a correlation of the two, and it his digg front page.
- TimDigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1could have been worse
could've played ddr drunk..... -
