- amrush4th, on 05/16/2008, -4/+11Its amazing to see what the Wii is doing. More people then ever before are getting into gaming and to me thats the most important part of all of this.
- Varz, on 05/17/2008, -1/+7It's great that more people are playing games but you're really comparing apples and oranges. Most gamers (in the traditional sense) don't even consider the Wii as a gaming console but more as a casual gaming toy, they wouldn't even consider buying one.
- HMTKSteve, on 05/16/2008, -4/+9I like the ending where the writer says it all about fighting for third place bcause the Nintendo Wii and DS have first and second locked up!
- GalacticRerun, on 05/17/2008, -1/+4Maybe the very hardcore gamers. I know lots of experienced gamers who have the Wii as their second console. Along with the new market of families who wouldn't normally buy a console it's no surprise this does so well. But then this is all obvious info. I don't know why anyone's surprised at the Wii's progress. Like you said, it's apples and oranges.
- thenonhacker, on 05/17/2008, -2/+4Love this news. Without the Wii, older people wouldn't want to explore gaming.
- Nathrat, on 05/17/2008, -0/+2Hilarious, now Sony wants to talk about attach rates for GTAIV. I didn't hear much about attach rates from them during the HD format war. Blu-Ray's 0.4:1 attach rate compared to HD DVDs 4:1. The total sales are what matter Sony, remember? You said it yourself.

What, we take too much time to rip on the people who get it wrong - doshindude, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1So much for this PS3 outselling everything *****. Finally, some truth comes to digg.
- skywake, on 05/17/2008, -3/+3I don't know about traditional gamers not considering the Wii a gaming console. I study Computer Science and the majority of my friends at UNI have been playing games since infancy. We have regular LANs and when a big game comes out you can almost guarantee that the common room will be empty. Yet most of us own a Wii.
I know of one friend that swore he would never get a console. A PC gamer from way back. He brought the Wii after about a year of its release. Sure a lot of them still play PC games and a few have 360s (I think there are one or two PS3s, one of them was free with a Sony TV) but the Wii is the king of all consoles. - inactive, on 05/17/2008, -2/+1Hahaha...I literally laughed out loud when I saw this.
I guess fancy graphics count for ***** huh? - inactive, on 05/16/2008, -10/+5Despite GTA Nintendo tops April Console Sales http://digg.com/nintendo/Despite_GTA_Nintendo_tops ...
- socivitus, on 05/16/2008, -8/+3Not surprising news, but they need to up their shipments by 500%, no one ever has Wii consoles in stock...EVER.
