- sola, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Dugg because 13 years ago, Mom grounded me for playing a game that featured a "cussing bunny."
- yidali, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Good Job Little Buddy!
- x0rtrunks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Sweet jumpin mary and joseph in a flaming birch bark canoe! I've been waiting years for more sam & max!
Do these pants make my arsenal look big? - terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Whack-a-Rat, guys. Whack-a-RAT.
- Jimgress, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7having been stun from the last sam and max release, I won't rejoice till I see it on shelves.
then I'll buy it immediately
one of the best games to ever use the SCUMM engine. (waits for hordes of monkey island fans to beat me into submission) - gk128, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I hope this is the first step towards seeing ports of games such as Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, and Monkey Island.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 100, and i dont know why.
- contradictator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Ah, but you see, they could always distribute it on the virtual console.
- middl3name, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4IMO, Best SCUMM games:
1. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
2. Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle
3. Sam and Max Hit the Road
4. Full Throttle
5. Secret of Monkey Island / Curse of Monkey Island - msprout, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is actually also a really notable situation - this marks one of the few times where blogs have specifically resulted in a game studio being noticed by a corporation as gigantic as Nintendo.
So, thank fanboys for this one. - DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Dugg for Sam & Max.
Also the article brings up a very valid point. Whats the deal with no PC style strategy games on the DS? Maybe a little WarCraft, some Command and Conquer perhaps? Dare I say a new (and by new I mean ported) StarCraft? WTF Nintendo? MAKE IT HAPPEN. - meekar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was one of those fans to email Nintendo. It was so awesome when Telltale Games posted on their blog that they actually got a call from Nintendo.
- Pluckie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If Day of the Tentacle was brought back, I would buy it in a second.
- jonnyeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They could always release a 2-3 epiosde pack on the Wii instead of individual episodes.
- dragonmantank, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Why? The episodes will be cheaper than a full game, and developers can focus on small parts of the overall game which could lead to less bugs and better games.
- DrunkenPirate34, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I remeber playing these games all the time when I was younger. Lots of fun.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If Sam and Max make it to the Wii, put me down for a console immediatley!
I can't wait to play Whack-a-Mole with the Wiimote! - blankartist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ah yes, that was a classic. But Maniac Mansion DOTT was better. Right Bernard?
- flipside3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For some light reading in the interim:
http://www.amazon.com/Collected-Sam-Max-Surfin-Highway/dp/1569248141 - smithco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Actually, the Go Nintendo crew, which started out as just a blog, has often noted that Nintendo is getting very interested in the grass-roots level of the community. It seems that once you have a mid-size audience on a Nintendo oriented blog, you'll get the Big N's attention in quite a positive way.
- LoopyChew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Holy cripes on toast!
- fabio1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yep, I also mailed nintendo, I'm glad to see that they noticed our mails! :)
- flipside3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was thinking the same thing. We need some StarCraft + DS love! Blizzard is who we should be hounding... but I guess they're too busy with that WoW thing.
- Beerduck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thank you. I have been waiting for this since 1993. Finally someone made a sequel.
And as much as I hope for a new Monkey Island or Maniac Mansion, I wouldn't give it much hope because i believe Lucasarts/film still owns the rights for those. And the Sun will explode before we see a new adventure from those a**holes (canceling freelance police and the sequel to full throttle) - Kokichi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Old, though yes, let us hope that this comes true. It'd be a perfect game for the Wii, and a perfect example of the kinds of games that gamers would love to see made available for the Wii. Plus, you could possibly even download it via VC, since they're in episodic content (unless they made a full new game).
Personally, I'd love to see all the old SCUMM games brought back, this time with the Wiimote as the pointer. I'd so pay good cash for those games (even though I already own all the hard copies, from floppy disks to the giant floppy disks to CDs, as well as the SCUMMVM versions).
And hey, if Sam & Max come out for the Wii, and end up being a big success...could this create demand for, *gasp*, dare I say it - MI5? - sobriquet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Woohoo! It's about time they brought these guys back. And of all the platforms, i can't wait to play Whack-A-Mole on the Wii!
- ajamison, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Best game news in years? This would be so much fun :^)
- sandeshm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yes! I emailed lucasart when they cancelled the last game, even though it was almost done. This is just another reason to buy a Wii for me
- ja2ke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Telltale asked people to stop writing Nintendo, as Nintendo contacted them after just a few hours of people writing in.
- LoopyChew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, I'm pretty happy they canned the sequel to Full Throttle, considering it was going to be a fighting game and the voice of Ben had already passed away.
Doing so to Freelance Police, however, was unforgivable. - netdroid9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Because it'll probably cost about twenty dollars an episode (Materials, licencing fees and of course the cost of the game itself), and for (say) an eight episode game that'd be what, a hundred and sixty dollars? No thankyou.
- arrakis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Considering how stiff they used to be, it's a good sign that Nintendo is changing.
- DangerMouse9, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0wow... you can't wait to play whack a mole on the Wii.... when you could go to the arcade and do the same thing only actually hit something instead of thin air.
Let's just hope you aren't playing this in front of a window so passer-byers won't look in and think you've gone daft. :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2Episodic Gaming on consoles... no good. Even if it is Sam & Max.
