Best. Slogan. Ever. - Raian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Hey genius: http://www.nintendopower.com/
It's still in print and also available in most stores that sell magazines. - Poddo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Have you been living under a rock since the 90's?
- PabloIV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I think it smells nice
- muleking, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12nintendo power is actually kind of decent these days, compared to the loaded commercial propaganda of my youth. Its a bit more independent, at least it seems that way.
- slackerbox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11With the amount of hype and speculation surrounding the Revolution, any information is good information.
- DephexTwin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Wow, how was Nintendo Power able to get the inside scoop?

on the topic of CNN claiming there will be no date/price announcement, and others telling us not to expect many games... nintendo is going to get the controller in the HANDS of people on the ground floor, so either way nintendo ftw - raynor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Pak
It was basically the marketing term Nintendo used for "video game cartridge" back in the nes/snes days. - dvddesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That's cool news. Knowing nintendo's way of writing their own PR inside of Nintendo Power, I would expect nothing less than a lineup of virtual console games from first and third party, Kid Icarus on the Rev, and Mario's going to be debut'd for the console. Nintendo has this way of getting you to read between the lines on their console.
What I'm kinda peeved over is the lack of news for the DS lite. I want one, I could get one in a week, but with E3 coming up so soon, I would rather wait to see if they announce it's imminent release, or if I should just have a friend who lives in Japan pick one up for me.
I think CNN's pretty off in the guess that there will be no price/date given. I'd bet they'll at least announce a date. Pricing can be a sticky thing this far out. - kuchino, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5This is a Lure Campaign, Which seems to be working on me, I want that system!
- PhAdE, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6"imformation" indeed.
- jecobo, on 06/11/2009, -2/+6I think there might have been a little sarcasm in DephexTwin's question.
- benska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I know the Castlevania developers have been busy working on the DS as they say, however they have made their living through Nintendo's consoles. Waiting to see how the Revolution and it's controller is received is not very polite on their behalf. In respect for Nintendo, they should start developing a new game for the Revolution to help push its appeal rather than wait to see what happens.
- ToeCheese, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5My comment is they still publish magazines???
With Broadband internet, I don't even purchase newspapers anymore.
Last magazine purchased Linux Format (with 2 CDs) and better content than any US Magazine which are usually filled with Ads and bias reviews. - mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.gamersreports.com.nyud.net:8090/news/2279/
- jpesicka2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2awesome, that is 1up w/ the spongebob game, i have & love the spongbob squarepants movie game, lights camera pants, & battle for bikini bottom, spogebob movie game for xbox & other platforms is my favorite, or one of my favorites, of the year or even alltime. tony hawk 1up. i think unless you've been living in a closet or trapped in one like r kelly, you know what's up with tony hawk games.
- dracula7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it will be, it will be, it will be, it will be, it will be,
- rand21althor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This information was originally brought to attention by a Sage, named FHUSSAIN, on Nintendo's NSider Messageboards. All reports like this end up using the same wording used by the sage, but they never give proper credit. FHUSSAIN got the issue early, and sent out the information.
- GarySwager, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That statement might not be as ridiculous as you think, though. I recall reading somewhere that the PSX actually was worse than the SNES in some ways (And no, I didn't read it in Nintendo Power...). I guess the reason why is mainly the difference in approach and focus (3d vs 2d), but still..
- dracula7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that's not the final name, so i doubt it ;)
(as much as id like it to be) - jpesicka2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2instead of developers hating on the ''remote controller'', become a 3rd party hardware or accessory developer aswell & use the damn IR port for a gamecube like controller, or even a wired USB controller, expansion slot my ass. make it work with the ir games or motion sensetive one's aswell.
- Mizark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That would be the most annoying controller ever.
- Sparticuz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And that Sadness game...looks very interesting in greyscale
- spoonman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Revolution pwns me. Nintendo fanboy for life.
- inturnaround, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My point was that Nintendo Power has come far from its heyday of Super Mario 3 coverage. Heck, they started going downhill when Howard left and Nester was all alone.
- rwinslow, on 04/21/2009, -4/+5Looking back, I'm sure you're right PlasticLack. Finals week is here and I'm slowly losing my mind.
- myxyplik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's pretty disappointing that few companies have announced titles after NDA expired. So far, the only one announced that looks promising is Red Steel. Otherwise there's a Tony Hawk game (yawn), a couple of Dragonball games (double yawn), some titles from some obscure companies, and speculation of a NiGHTS remake. Yeah, that's in addition to what we already know is coming from Nintendo and the Virtual Console, but still. Guess we really will have to wait until E3.
- baskervillain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you're that desperate, I'd say go for it - unless it'll cost you more, it won't be to your detriment having an imported DS Lite: it's region-free, US and Japanese power supplies are the same and you can play games from any country on any DS Lite. I say go for it.
- dmgr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sorry for the technical website issues, shoudl be fine now, turnout was a bit more than we expected
- Author, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2All I see is an Invision Power Board SQL error. Did you guys crash it?
- bouche, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2check out this possible use of technology in the revmote. Do yourself a favor and watch the demo movie (second link). IF that's built into the thing, it'll be one-helluva controller!
http://www.powerballs.com/
http://www.powerballs.com/popup_akis.php - PhAdE, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I vividly remember a nintendo power that came out right after the n64 (dolphin) was launched. It said something along the lines of "the dolphin's technology is leaps and bounds above that of the sony playstation, which is more on par and worse than in some ways the SNES"
They actually claimed the SNES could step to the PSX technologically.
Also, PSX is an awesome acronym. - dallen, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5not a lot of imformation, but cool, i guess
- jpesicka2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1...but, i want some goddamn LEGIT specs.
- prax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Not really much "news" but like someone else said, anything is better than nothing.
- TheBrandman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Revolution seems like it will have the gameplay, just not the games.
- shoguning, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Go Revolution! I'm pre-ordering mine.
- apantomimehorse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Why the hell is the parent getting modded down? What's wrong with expressing surprise that Nintendo Power is still in print? It was exactly my thought. I can't imagine that digg readers are that sensitive. Seriously, are corporate hacks voting down any comments about their employers that might possibly be construed as negative?
- Armambo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How?
- Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Can't get there. Mirrors/caches/things anyone?
- MFoody, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I don't think they owe anything to Nintendo. The more good games for the revolution the better, but I can't blame them for wanting to wait and see before they pour a lot of money into developing a game that probably can't be ported elsewhere. If the revolution is successful, and I think it will be, I think we'll see some great things from Konami for it.
Also, I think, lately Konami has had a stronger relationship with Sony than Nintendo. - zukeft, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Isn't it still slightly, ahem, biased? I mean many years ago I remember that they had their own review crew, bashing games and such, but it didn't last.
- kilodelta, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1i'm shocked!
shocked that someone old enough to use the internet to post this stuff reads Nintendo Power. - Adross, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I think it's pretty obvious that he was kidding, no one is that dumb
- rwinslow, on 04/21/2009, -7/+4Nintendo Power is Nintendo's officially sanctioned magazine.
- nyenyec, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0I'm a subscriber and it's pretty biased. I'm a big Nintendo fan so I don't mind. But when I want to read a "fair and balanced" review of a game I go elsewhere.
- Rayonic, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1"Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam" sounds terrible. Sounds like it will lack the freedom of earlier TH games.
I heard (in Joystiq or Kotaku) that you'll have to set up sensors in from of the TV in order for the Revolution controller to work. Now, consider that most "non-gamers" Nintendo is aiming for have trouble hooking up their TV and console in the first place. It doesn't bode well. -
