- omenmedia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35because he can
- LawLSUVA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Wow, he did a great job on Samus.
Even the colors look similar to the SNES model. - rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20Mahoney, we're going to move your cubicle down to the basement. Oh and you won't be needing this red stapler anymore. Yeah. So, pack up your stuff, mmmmkay?
- bryant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Hmm...ouch. You need 318 pins for the Mario and shell.
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13The guys name in th article is "Sausage Mahoney". Duh, of course the character being assaulted is Milton. Everyone knows that. But you apparently didn't read the link, mmmkay?
- bryant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Or, like, a whole scene from SMB. for the NES.
Or Duckhunt.
Now THAT would be badass. - expertninja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Yeah, he'll be a big badass when he gets fired for wasting time and pushpins. However, I've done the same thing so I can't really blame him. I just lacked his artistic skills and steely determination.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Will my graphics card be able to support something so great? ;)
- CaptainWeasel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Badass. I approve. Someone now needs to make a huge canvas of one.
- Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8yes...it was from "The Office" (USA) website...I'm lazy though...so I won't find it for you =P
- pgm_01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4See, the skills you learned from your Lite-Brite when you were a kid do have a use. :D
- Madh2orat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Its perfect, till he needs a pushpin, then he has to take one off, then his neighbors will.... soon samus wont have her suit anymore, it'll be "Zero Suit Samaus"
- bryant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I think I have to try making that Mario...
- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Awesome... but the cell phone pic is killing me. Need a nice digi cam shot so I can see them megapixels.
- brownspank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'd like to try it with M&Ms. Perhaps make use of dithering to get more colors out of them.
- Naleaus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3wow, didn't think this would get out. I took that pic today at work to show my bandmates.
glad some people liked it. and yeah it's a bad cell phone pic, so i'll post a better one tomorrow from work... so you can see pixels of the pixels?..? most of the people that come into the IT room just say wow look a robot... silly non-gamers - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hrmm, am I the only one who is offended that there is an aside letting us know what Samus is from? :P
I am impressed, though, with the Samus model in particular. The Mario one isn't too hot, but Samus looks better than the NES version (more like from Super Metroid, if you ask me) - Naleaus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I made it from the snes sprite.
if you want to make one check out

for the Nintendo sprite of your dreams and buy a bunch of pushpins - Robomonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That was awesome. As a pixel artist my self, I have to say that's pretty sweet.
- Mac2492, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Only if they also made the lightgun...
- LR2_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Some of that stuff on your site is pretty neat. How long did it take to make/set up that wall instalation?
- BinaryJay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm stealing your idea about painted wooden blocks... only I'm not going to do any video game theme, I think I'm just going to make some abstract pixel artish wall decor for my new place. I think it will look better if I paint the blocks individually and attach them mechanically, though.
- datagod, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9Fire his ass for wasting time at work. Then send me his cubicle wall. I like it. Double plus digg.
- nerdonthehill, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1I would like to point you all to something similar that we have been working on.

We actually started this about a year ago as a fluke project, before we did any research, and it grew into this.
We are currently working on our next idea which may or may not be Mario related. - DarkDays, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Heh, the next art craze?
The samus one is just awsome - polizzi82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I once mirrored the outside of my cube walls with the back sides of hundreds of CD's all perfectly lined up side to side and my manager made me take them down claiming it looked "unprofessional". It looked awesome.
Hope this artwork doesn't have the same fate...
...stupid management - LoungeActx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haha..That's what i was gonna say. How do you get away with doing that at work? I could never pull that off in my cube, unless i did it incrementally. But at that rate it would take me a year.
- bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4That's really quite awesome! Not quite as awesome as my sprite sculptures, but still commendable ;)

Seriously though, that Samus one is quite amazing. He should utilize more of his cubicle... - xinul, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3cool but I can only guess what his boss says when he walks into his cube "perhaps your work load is a bit light Ill see what I can do about that...oh and you forgot to put your the cover page on your tps report did you get that memo? em ya Ill make sure you get that ohk.."
- brownspank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They're push pins, not normal, small-head pins. A cellphone camera should suffice.
- wetheperson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice. my counsin did this a while back with dragon warrior characters.
- CaptanAwal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Hrmm, am I the only one who is offended that there is an aside letting us know what Samus is from?"
Ya I saw that too - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, that's a cool site. Putting it on del.icio.us...
- kinross19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@CaptanAwal
Yeah sorry about that, I also submitted it to boingboing at the same time (Using the same description), and so I thought I might need to explain it for them. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The really sad thing is that management doesn't care so much about the lack of work their employees have to keep themselves busy, but is more concerned with the lack of effort put into APPEARING busy. As if it would all be okay if they just sat staring blankly at the computer screen or, I don't know, got up and swept the floor.
(Actually, doing manual labor is not acceptable. I was once fired for washing the dishes at work. Seriously. I had nothing better to do, so I washed all the dishes in the break room. The manager got pissed, because I was doing the janitor's job. As if you can't tell a janitor to wash something else. I told him, "It was either do the dishes or read a book." ***** dumbass.) - DrGonzo1184, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why work at work when you can get away with not working? Don't be jealous because you never learned how to slack off.
- DragonQuester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1damn.
kudos to him! - bwishey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It took about a day total. The wall painting took the longest.
I tried to Digg my sprite sculpture but only got 2... Oh well. Hehe - DrDent, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Here's some more

Tell me when someone does a scene from Duckhunt and I'll stick a few extra pins on that annoying dog. Hehe sweet revenge! - alej744, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2why was he modded down? Anything comment with humor at digg gets buried
- actionscripted, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Awesome. Wasn't there a recent Digg article about something similar with Post-it notes?
- SIDSI, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I would fire the *****, Jesus Christ why don't you jackasses work at work.
- beervolcano, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Mahoney? Its Milton Waddams
